Been doing daily some Mool mantar jaap,Japji Sahib,Chaupai Sahib, some breathing simran and I believe it is powering me to carry on.
I will update again here in another 100 days. Thanks to all members here who helped me in this journey to clean up my act.

It is a matter of consistent and continued practice. After some time, usually after 40 days, you will notice that you are reciting the same Shabad in less time. The following structure may help you understand the mechanism:
    "
Baikhri: These are labial sounds or sounds which are uttered with the aid of tongue and lips. It is when God's Name is recited with tongue and lips. It is the first technique and holds 1 unit in power. [takes the most time] Madhma: These are guttural sounds which are produced in the throat or at the back or root of the tongue and palate. It is when God's Name is recited within the throat but without the use of the tongue. This is 10 times the power of Baikhri. [takes less time than 1]  Pashyanti: These are sounds which originate from the heart center. It is when God's Name is recited within the heart but without the use of the tongue. This is 100 times the power of Baikhri. [takes less time than 2] Para: These are sounds which arise through vibrations from the navel center. It is when God's Name is recited within the navel but without the use of the tongue. This is 1000 times the power of Baikhri. [takes less time than 3]." Finally, state of intense devotion, love, and emotional fervor while reciting the Shabad goes a long way in expediting the process.

The Sikhs are the most interesting people in the whole of India. They appear on the stage of life everywhere and in every walk of life as men and women of action. The hidden spirit and potential energy of a Sikh give them a peculiar dignity. A Sikh believes that GOD is always present with him, to help and guide him. This feeling has made them not only adventurous but also bold and fearless. They can dare anything and endure everything under the sun in the name of GOD, Guru and Granth.

The story of the rise and development of Sikhism is one of the most stirring and striking chapters in world history. It is a people’s movement based on democracy, secularism and socialism, without any barriers of caste, colour or country.

The appearance of a great man is not an isolated event or a mere accident. A great man is invariably the product of his age. Guru Nanak (1469 - 1539), the founder of the Sikh religion, was not an exception to this rule.

In Europe it was an age of Renaissance, Reformation and geographical discoveries. In Italy there was an outburst of activity in fine arts. The renowned masters. Leonardo da Vinci (1452 - 1519), Michelangelo (1475 - 1564), and Raphael (1483 - 1520), made a lasting contribution. Colet founded the first Grammar School of St. Paul's in London in 1510. Erasmus opened the Corpus Christi College at Oxford in 1516. Martin Luther, a German professor, began Reformation in 1517. Colvin (1509 - 1564) took up this work in Switzerland. Columbus, an Italian, discovered the sea route to America in 1492. Vasco da Gama, a Portuguese, found the sea route to India in 1498. In 1519 another Portuguese, Ferdinand Magellan, made the first voyage round the world. The establishment of Tidor rule in Britain in 1485 heralded political awakening and ushered in the modern age.

India, with its great ancient civilisation and culture, could not remain unaffected. Hinduism, though ground to dust by the country’s foreign rulers, began to assert itself in the most inoffensive form. It was the Bhakti movement of which Guru Nanak was a prominent exponent. Its main object was to give hope to the suppressed Hindu community and to check forcible conversion of lower classes to Islam.

The Gurus laid emphasis on the worship of one GOD only through simran and bhakti. This has made the Sikhs the most vital community. The Sikh faith in the sword is a faith in sacrifice. The story of martyrdom of Guru Arjan, Guru Tegh Bahader, Guru Gobind Singh and his four sons together with thousands of other heroes, is one of the richest treasures in the world history.

The ancient sages divided the life of a Hindu into four equal parts:

    Brahmcharya ashram or student life,
    Grihastha ashram or householder
Vanprastha ashram or householder-retirement or sadhu or life of preparation for renunciation and
Sanyas ashram or life of complete renunciation or yogi.

The Sikh Gurus gave only one stage to human life, living with parents, brothers, sisters and other relatives and then raising one’s own family, viz. Griha stha ashram. The first five Gurus were the builders and the last five were defenders of the faith. Guru Nanak was a teacher and master. Guru Gobind Singh was a comrade and leader.

The sacred book of the Sikhs was called Pothi Sahib. Guru Gobind Singh while ending physical guruship called it Granth. It is a combination of two words, Gur and Ant. Meaning the Eternal Guru. The Sikhs named it Adi Granth or the original holy book. Guru Gobind Singh’s compositions were collectively called the Dasam Granth. Adi Granth signifies Bhakti or religious devotion, while the Dasam Granth represents Shakti or living force of the Sikhs.

As a matter of fact the Sikh Character is a combination of bhakti and Shakti. Shakti can be displayed not only in martial activities, but also in agriculture, business, and industry and in other professions, as well as in mutual wrangles, dacoity and murders

    Wahguru ji ki fateh
I couldn't help but feel your situation because I know what it's like. I can only tell you what I know from the way I've handled things. Although its a stage of my life that I'm extremely ashamed of, I'm aware of the darkness and difficulties.
I remember how I'd regret most mornings and promise to not do it again. Sadly, just past afternoon, when i'd be more or less fully sober, I'd fall into a sudden slump of depression. Worried about how I would make it through to the night, I'd be craving and planning my evening liquor session. The anxiety, frustration, and just the plain fear of being sober. Sometimes, it was as if I felt naked without any drink and needed it to cover myself up and be presentable.  My mind would be working full speed to convince me that tonight it would be okay just this once to get rat-assed again.  I went up and down like a yo-yo many times.  Problem was that I was looking to fill this hole that everyone looks for. As manukhs, we tend to fill the hole with 5 vices. When I went to AA meetings and was working on step plans, I found myself spending more time at casinos. Although I wasn't drinking, I was frequenting other naughty places as well as squandering thousands in casinos.  Now, after 20 years, I realize that the "hole" I was looking for was "naam" and because I never found any naam, I just went from drinking on to other vices.  There's people out there addicted to gossip, addicted to tv, addicted to kaam, addicted to violence, addicted to moh of possessions, addicted to moh of relations, lobh of money, lobh of more square feet to own..and so on.  Either way, theire lives get consumed by panj doots unless they become Guru ka sikh and start practicing as guru ka sikh.
    What did I do?
    - Eventually, I plucked up the courage to start  10,000 mool mantar over 10 days. 1000 /day. This was advised by local gyani and I just took his word for it. He said do it 10 days, no khaana peena, just simple daal roti. Wake at 4am, bathe shower whilst doing Waheguru jap, then sit down cross-legged and do 1000 malas preferably with an extra mala of 108 at the end.  Then wait a few days and start again on Sunday. So it went from Sunday to  Sunday (8 days inclusive) plus Monday and Tuesday week after (10 days), then a break on wed, thu, fri and Saturday to start again on Sunday.  Gyanee told me to go back after a month and see him. When I went back the first time,  the first thing he enquired was whether I had fallen off the wagon and hit the bottle after first 10 days.   But I hadn't, the vegetarian rehat and maintaining of purity on the outside did somehow cleanse my dirty mann from the inside. After 2 months, I changed my life around and started to focus on nitnem and doing simran with techniques my dad had taught me. I've never consumed any liquor since or even had any urges. After all, it was the urges that were eating me in those days.
I strongly suggest you follow official advice as mentioned by soulfinder veer. I honestly believe the 5 vice salok will be beneficial. I explained before how I found myself switching from one vice to another after I started AA. I truly believe that it's our human nature and the 5 dhoots power to fool us this way.Doing the salok in addition is a vey good idea.   In the end, it's not just about getting off the liquor, it's about a whole new transformation into a newer you.  I remember that during  the second mool mantar japs I found myself with lots of physical energy and started powerlifting and pumping weights that I didn't think were possible for me. Doing this will also be beneficial for you if you start with small weights and combo reps.
