  1. loooool. everyone knows that major singh and his dal like to make up sakhia in favour of the majhbis
  2. What was the British offering though? The British had offered to make arrangements for Khalistan, thus showing that Baba Ji must’ve been in some sort of agreement with the idea that we should be Azaad and have our own Raj and Mulak. Master Tara Singh and Baldev Singh made the bad option of not accepting Khalistan when the British were willing to accept. I also think Baba Isher Singh Ji knew what was going to happen in 84. I’m pretty sure they went to Darbar Sahib and stood outside Sri Akal Takht Sahib and saw what was going to happen
Nanaksar are usually called non political by the Panth and have been criticised by many because of 1984. However if we look into the history of Nanaksar, Baba Nand Singh Ji actually supported Khalistan. Contrary to popular belief, the concept of a modern day Khalistan was born in the 1930s. In fact in 1945, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and Shiromani Akali Dal passed a Mata in Teja Singh Samundari Hall for the creation of Khalistan. In the late 1930s/ early 40s the talk of independence started to widely occur. So Baba Nand Singh Ji asked their Sewaks to meet Master Tara Singh and ask him to strive towards the creation of Khalistan. When they met Master Tara Singh, he laughed and said ‘anpad saadhan nu siyasat bare ki pata hai’. The Singhs relayed this back to Baba Nand Singh Ji who said ‘accha inna di marzi aa par kise vele is vakt nu pachtaunge’. Baba Ji was indirectly referring to all the struggles and oppression the Panth has faced as a result of deciding to join with India
  4. Sant Giani Hardeep Singh Ji Hazur Sahib Wale who was a Vidiarthi of Sant Kartar Singh Ji once disclosed in an interview that Mahapurkh would often do Parchar against Jhatka because of the very thin ling between Jhatka and Halal. Mahapurkh knew that if they did Katha in support of Jhatka then a lot of Sikhs would think that it is okay to eat Khulla Maas.
  5. In this Vadde Mahapurakh talk about the Nihang Singh Maryada. Whilst Baba Thakur Singh Ji said Taksalis were Nihangs since they came from Baba Deep Singh Ji, historically Sukha has been banned for Singhs learning Vidya. This is something that evening Nihang Singhs adhere to. Since Taksal is more Sadhu-like in nature they also abstain from meat. In Puratan Times not every Gursikhi ate meat and drank Shaheedi Deg. Before eating meat a lot of Shardavaan Gursikhs would do a complete Akhand Paath of Sri Dasam Guru Granth Sahib Ji, so that it wouldn’t affect their Avastha. Even today, Tarna Dal hardly do Jhatka and most of their Singhs are vegetarian. It’s just a personal preference. I think Giani Gurwinder Singh Ji Nangli has written more in their book, Tawarikh Nihang Singhan
Why is the bridge at Darbar Sahib always covered with a ceiling? When looking at old photos the cover was only put on when it would rain, which is understandable. But now it is there permanently. It takes away the feeling and also defeats the purpose of the Darshani Deodi since you cannot see Darbar Sahib anymore.
  7. I meant more of the Punjabi Culture which has been around for hundreds of years. But I agree, songs which promote alcohol and drugs should be banned.
How should Khalistan be governed? Should harmless aspects of Punjabi culture be allowed, like Boliyan and Giddha? Mandatory wearing of Chunni? Because if so a lot of people would be turned away from the idea of Khalistan. In my opinion, Parchar of Sikhi should continue in mass scales, without the forcing of Sikhi onto anyone. Leave it up to the individual to make their own choices. Obviously, it is the Khalsa’s Rule so effective laws should be put in place which do not compromise Sikhi or people’s freedom. If we look at the Raj of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur, the Misls or Maharaja Ranjit Singh, religion wasn’t forced upon anybody. and whilst there was an emphasis on Sikhi, music or dancing wasn’t banned. So is this how Khalistan should be like? Do we get rid of Punjabi culture altogether, or start a reform to remove the toxic parts of Punjabi culture without neglecting Sikhi? What are your views?
  9. The best bet at the moment would to contact the pakistan gurdwara committee and the sgpc. as they would have the most influence and able to get these gurdware in the hands of the Panth. but Puratan Sampardava should take a hand in the seva and keep the gurdware under their command
  10. I’m still young to do this seva. I’m still at school. But I’m hoping to do this Seva in the future with the help of Panthik Jathebandia. Regarding your concerns with Parchar, from watching Nishan Singh’s videos people give a lot of pyaar to Sikhs especially the buzurgs. Obviously there are security threats, but we should aim to do our seva with pyaar and respect for the locals and not compelling sikhi on them. This seva should start as soon as possible. There are already jathebandia who have done seva like Bhai Avtar Singh Sanghera from coventry and there’s Ranjit Nagara USA who have done seva of Chowa Sahib according to Puratan techniques
  11. Vjkk vjkf, recently i’ve been thinking that at the moment there are an abundant of old gurdware in pakistan which are in decay. there’s a lack of sangat to restore them. nishan singh australia has just gone to pakistan and done darshan of these gurdware. and it made me think, why isn’t anyone from abroad doing seva of these gurdware? and how should we go about with doing this seva? is there anybody interested in going to pakistan and staying there doing seva of the gurdware and doing amrit parchar. because if nobody goes, these gurdware will cease to exist
  12. I’ve tired looking online, but can’t find anything. I’ve also tried asking Sikh Federation and Dal Khalsa but no reply. @GurjantGnostici’ll try and see if i can do custom prints
  13. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh, does anybody happen to know where daas can get khalistan flags from in the midlands?
  14. Singh Sahib joined Taksal in 1970 and studied under Sant Giani Kartar Singh Ji and Sant Giani Jarnail Singh Ji. At Sarbat Khalsa 1986 they were made the Head Granthi of Sri Darbar Sahib.
  15. Is there an actual Teeka. I know Baba Santa Singh Ji have published one but the translations are very limited.
  16. Veer Ji can you please upload some more Sarbloh Bani
Has anybody been to Darbar Sahib recently? How long was the line into Darbar Sahib and what time and day would you recommend to visit?
What is the Maryada followed by Nanaksar for a Sri Sampat Akhand Paath Sahib? I’ve looked at other threads on this topic however detail is not gone into the Maryada.
  19. Bhagat Singh didn’t take Amrit after meeting Bhai Sahib. On they day after Bhai Sahib met Bhagat Singh, he wrote a book called ‘Why am I an Atheist’. Also Bhai Sahib has written against Bhagat Singh and called him out in their writings.
sikhsangat.com has been down for a couple of days now. Does anybody know if it is trying to be fixed and if so when it will be back up again?
