  1. I stand by Baba Takhur Singh ji's words. If you want to insult with sarcasm people who stand by Babaji's bachan, that's your choice.
  2. dynamic banda, not all taksalis accept Baba Harnam Singh or Bhai Ram Singh as Jathedars of the Taksal, hence they have not gone back on their stance! One of Baba Harnam Singh's first actions as "jathedar" was to kick out all students who stood by Baba Takhur Singh's words... plenty of Singhs who would call themselves Taksalis still stand by Baba Takhur Singh ji's words.

can you elaborate on the "Ahl ul Bayt of India"?

sounds like the exact description of Guru Gobind Singh ji's Khalsa. what do present day shia's think of khalsa sikhs (if they know about them) in light of this hadith?
  5. His close friend and fellow student during Sant Kartar Singh ji's time, Gyani Takhur Singh(Patialawale), confirms that Sant Jarnail Singh was a Brahmgyani, not only that, but a Brahmgyani of the 8th level... (highest level I believe). Mata Sahib Kaur gave Santji darshan at Hazoor sahib and showed him all that was to happen. If you don't believe in this, that's your prerogative.
  6. the "islam" of all muslims is not the same. if you've lived in india you'll know what i mean. there is a great deal of difference between islam in punjab and the islam of bengal and the islam of saudi arabia....and not just in terms of sects. so even if "pure" islam believes God doesn't reside in the creation, it doesn't mean the normal indian muslim will believe that aswell.
  7. don't worry bhenji, like neo said, many people go through these stages. contrary to what people might tell you, fear is a good thing! for one, it shows your ego is small. the real unfortunate souls are those who don't do paathh aaaaand feel they have nothing to fear. also remember, Guruji takes thousands of steps towards you if you take one step. You doing paath two times a day is an awesome step. and Guruji has blessed you (believe it!) with fear. he WANTS you to keep going on this path, so he has put this fear inside you to keep you moving. Just look around you, all the poeple who don't fear God/death/narak/joons/jamdoots..they won't feel the need to do paath. to have this "fear" is itself a huge blessing. You will truly look back one day and be glad you didn't give up (when you move into bairaag/prem). on a personal note, i used to do paath out of immense fear of poverty, ill health of family, and fear of upsetting Guruji when I was a bit younger than you. Looking back i see it as Guruji nudging me along in the right direction. I to used to think, "why can't I just do paath without this "fear" factor"....but back when I was a kid, i needed a bribe to do paath, ad that bribe came to me in the form that I would feel Guruji would help my family stay away from poverty and help me get good grades, or keep ghosts away from me (hey, i was like 11 !). so keep the paath going and don't stop fearing
  8. Since literate and illiterate are both capable of obtaining Vaheguru. Makes me less stressed about not understanding some of the finer details incorporated from Vedant.
  9. Gian Sant Singh ji maskeen stated about 3 years before he passed away at Singh sabha in Surrey, that "it is only now that I have started tasting Naam Ras after a whole lifetime of speaking/reading about it". So I see what Pheena ji is saying about hypnotic katha where the listener thinks the speaker is speaking from experience.
  10. I'm sorry but I don't recall Gyani ji talking about "Omkar", I think he was just talking about "om" and "oankaar". Infact, I don't think the word "omkaar" was even used previously. "om" and "oang" mean the same thing I believe. When Gyani ji says "om" refers to trimurti, he's saying it in the sense of the core meaning of the word. Some traditions may in fact use "om" to refer to the One, but the word itself, if it is broken down, is a description of the trimurti.
  11. great seva n30...but for some reason, all these terms just don't sink into my brain, i'm finding it very hard to fully comprehend. i think if someone could make a pictorial representation of this stuff it would be really helpful for beginners. this thread should be good...
  12. This really is a treasure. I felt so calm and at peace after reading those Gurbani lines with the added knowledge of their arths. I'm definitely going to read this whole book. Great seva.
  13. where can we get this book ? is it a single book or a series?
  14. has Ranjit Dayal been taken care of yet ?
  15. Charles, Just thought I'd clarify, the concept of reincarnation does not give the individual soul a "trial and error" approach to human life. Human life is a one time deal. If you fail in this life to realize God, then it's back to 8.4 million life cycles of reincarnation. Hell and heaven are also not alien concepts to Sikhism, they have their place as well (hope this doesn't confuse you further).
  16. Very profound and important point just made.
  17. With all due respect, I think brother Vijaydeep Singh should desist from this discussion becasue of the linguistic challenges. I think it is very confusing, especially for a non-indian non-sikh, to understand a lot of what Vijaydeep says.
  18. Looking at the the two historical pics, it seems even they aren't of the original kachi garhi. From the the second pic, it appears that only the walls are of the original building, while the central building seems to have been built later on (obviously the kacchi garhi didn't look like a gurdwara when Guruji and the Singhs came there). But hey, even that looked better than the current marble-monstrosity.
  19. Why don't you try applying to a college with lower entrance requirements? Remember, any education is beter than none. So maybe you can't become an engineer or get into med school...there are plenty of second-tier fields avialable. Try accounting, or some computer related diploma??? Just my suggestions. In the end, you'll be glad you did something, as opposed to getting stuck in some labouring job for the rest of your life. *Oh, and about the parents...that's a bullet you're gonna have to bite sooner or later. And it's gonna sting for a few months for sure. But then help your parents understand that, this is the reality, that I can either give up schooling all together and get some low paying job now, or try my luck at a lower-standard college. After inital fights and verbal abuse, your parents will come around to supporting you. This is gonna require alot of strength on your part, it's going to be tough facing your parents, and probably harder to face relatives. But once you've passed through this, then get on with your life. Don't look back. Forget about the fact that you've wasted a few years of your life. Think about getting some sort of diploma from a college and starting on your career. I know a few people who've passed through your situation. Some taking the easy way out (quiting school all together). If you need someone to talk to, PM me or continue posting here to help relieve some of your stress. And please don't contemplate suicide or something...hehe.
  20. vijaydeep singh, Rajs isn't Chaudary Nijjar...i can assure you. He's an old internet warrior who spent years on Sikhnet originally, now he's spreading his tenticles to many other Sikh forums. Much more venomous than Nijjar.
  21. you've "tendered" you're views, right? you've gotten replies, right? now what the hell you still doing here? seriously jass, no matter which way you spin it, you really have a pitiful life if you need to hound Sikh forums all your life in order to fulfill some divine instruction.
  22. Nice reply by Mekhane'ch Jannat (Bahadur Singh ??) and Rajs, is this all you're going to do with your life? You've spent years on almost all well known Sikh forums politely insulting our Gurus. Just think of how upset Jesus must be with you. Go back to the christian institute of Sikh studies and tell them they suck at whatever the hell they teach.
