  1. Interestingly the answer to the young man is in Sukhmani Sahib, first Ashtpadi...Prabh Keah Simran Jatti...Satti.....This viakhiaya has been done earlier today (22.02.2021) by Giani Jangbir Singh at Takht Sri Hazoor Sahib, Abchal Nagar...I am posting the link below (the Jaati part is at 55.33 mins)..Suggest you hear the entire series (this is the fourth instalment). Further In Salok Seshkriti this issue has been addressed..."Hea Kaamang..Narak Bisramang Bahu Jonee Bharamvarh...(Salok Sehaskrati M 5 , Ank1358)... All Sadhu Sants have done the jaap of the Salok Seshkriti for hours..that to me is the only way to bring this under control, as per Gurbani...whether you do religious education or any education it is ONLY with the bakshish of Vahiguru that this can be brought under control...applying force to control this - while advocated by certain sects - is not the Gurmat way...Our way is ardas, and recitation of shabads ....over a period of time its intensity will reduce if you are genuinely desirous of that goal... You can hear the entire Salok Sehaskriti katha by going to www.gurmatveechar.com>audio>katha>puratan katha>Sant Kartar Singh>click on second folder which relates to Salok Sehaskarti.. (Go to Volume 14 and at 24 mins this katha on Kaam starts) May the Gurus Bakshish be with you..and what you are experiencing is absolutely normal...will settle with bani and ardas
  2. So when you go to an MNC office do you wear your sleepwear ? or are you formally dressed? Is showering, dressing formally a ritual or a requirement? The statement that "why you need rules and regulations for remembering God and Guru"? is simplistic and inconsistent with Guru Sahibs hukams. Guru Ram Dass has specified in his hukam in Guru Granth Sahib....Gur Satgur Kaa Jo Sikh Akhaey...So Bhaal keeah Utth Haaar Naam Dhiavery...(ank 306) .Guru Sahibs hukams are get up early (is that a ritual? or a requirement?) Udham Kareah Bhalkeah Parbhati Ishnaam Kareah...(So having an early morning bath is a ritual or a requirement?)....this same hukam is in all rehatnamas, and in Guru Gobind Singhs 52 Hukams for the Sikhs before he became Aloop...Water is known to absorb whatever is in the environment ..hence the water in the sarovar of Darabar Sahib on which Gurbani is sung virtually round the clock has curative powers. Hence the recommendation for having water when we do paath...I have personally followed all these requirements and benefitted from them...so would suggest that we do not spread our own understanding (manmaat) and instead refer to Guru Sahibs hukams (gurmat) for guidance and implementation.
  3. Dear Bhaji, This link is not working - probably because it is dated? Can you please share a working link or put this in the download section..Thanks Regards
  4. Yes, read Khushwant Singh and all other authors who have covered that time period..
  5. well said...its the kamayee that matters not acquired gyan through reading etc.
  6. If you listen to his current videos which are all from the time when he was in his 90s that is the impression you would get but the background is that before he would go to the gurdwara at 3 am every day for prakash he would do 30 minutes plus of gurmantar jaaap at home (ref Maskeen jis audios on his background) and then continually all day recite a tuk from guru granth sahib even while at work...over a period of 9 years he did the paath of Guru Granth Sahib once - but his focus was always on 'following' (i.e kamaooing) the bani rather than just reading it - which most of us do and that too in a hurry...the purpose of the gurmantar is also to connect with the creator...its an initial step on the paath but whether it is the final step as well I dont know...still learning
  7. Thanks Bhai Sahib for this wonderful share.. Allow me to share a link to a video of Bhai Bahadur Singh - who Giani Sant Singh Maskeen in his katha described as a Brahmgiani he knew - wherein he describes the process of how to meet the creator - which is the ultimate aim of all of us.
  8. To my "limited" knowledge only you should be "pesh"
  9. Its not easy to acknowledge ones mistakes and even more difficult to share them (even anonymously) and seek solutions. This is Gurus bakshish that you are doing so and you will succeed. Guru Sahib is saad meharban (always kind) At 20.24 minutes on this video you will get the answer to your question.
  10. Well said...its a bit like checking out all the colleges in the country and applying to none ! Some of the recent gyan on the forum is quite contradictory unlike the earlier postings by practitioners like @Lucky @DeNiro, yourself which have set out my path...
  11. That will be awesome. Lot of brahamgianis start at that hour
  12. Absolutely brilliant, not only about a brief, simple and clear enunciation of the difference between jog mat and gurmat (that more than half a dozen books by various authors couldn't) but about overall bhakti...learnt that one must allocate at least 2 hrs both morning and evening to the gurmantar jaap..bhai sahib did it for over 2 years before Guru Sahib blessed him...a must listen..thank you sat veerji for posting..
  13. Bhai Sahib, This is a pavitar forum in which genuine seekers share their actual experiences and learn from each others personal experiences...Most posts are typically brief as well. It would be useful if we all kept to the same discipline. Thank you
  14. this is all stuff straight out of grewals writings - please stop posting in this forum..thank you
  15. Bhai Sahib, Anger and Ego (common to all of us) are at play in this situation. Your ego has stood in the way of you making the effort to learn gurmukhi and at least a basic understanding of what the teachings guru sahib is telling us about which would help us in crossing this terrifying world ocean. It told you that listening for hours is a good substitute for learning gurmukhi and making no effort to understand our Gurus teachings. Anger because someone stated that you should make an effort to understand Gurbani which went against your ego. So going forward if you were to make these efforts, maybe vahiguru will bless you with reduction in ego/anger and give you a better understanding of his teachings. (perhaps these comments may be from Vahiguru himself to turn you towards the direction of making more efforts on gurbani?) I wish you all the best while you take steps on this journey and may vahiguru guide you himself. regards
  16. Vahiguru Jee Ka Khalsa, Vahiguru Jee Kee Fateh You refer to some audio tracks you have used to learn the above mentioned banis. Can you please share those links ? Also what motivated you to do these banis? Normally most people have not even heard of these banis leave aside done them?
  17. Please go ahead and share - thats the purpose of this forum to act like a 'virtual' sangat.
  18. @HK Sikh - I have yet to hear a better one than this - linking up the efforts we put in academics (how to be a good student and know your content) with bandagi. Academics, if at all useful (content keeps being revised hence the need for constant updation) will help us get a meal in this lifetime whereas bandagi is for this life and beyond; yet our time allocation for both these activities is inversely proportional to their importance.!
  19. Why do you repeatedly call Gobindey Mukandey as Gaitri Mantar? Giani jee talks of it as our equivalent of Gaitri Mantar but Gaitri Mantar is another separate mantar.
