  1. Magnesium Sulfate/Hydroxide(a.k.a Epsom Salts) do cause diarrhea, but NOT the Magnesium Citrate (100% pure powder) unless you intentionally take many tablespoons in one go. Magnesium Citrate is the most widely used form of Magnesium because of its good bioavailability, extensive health benefits: IBS, Heart-diseases, Brain issues, and so on.. Moreover, if you take anything abnormally, you're bound to have its side-effects......e.g if you take excessive amount of water, you would have negative side-effects. Everything has a consequence (positive/negative) in this universe. At last, do your research properly before taking any medication (including 5HTP or Magnesium or anything else), don't just take it because it is popular. The brand medicines do carry risk for long term. Chalo Raab Rakha.
  2. No, I've no experience with St Johns Wort but do know the most potent techniques to relax the Nervous tension (which helps in depression). Personally, I've used the first two in my family and perfect results: 1. While the patient is lying on the back, bend all the toes of both legs, backward. Keep those bend for at-least 1-2 minutes. It may hurt but give little more pressure and bend them as much as possible. Repeat this three times a day till the tension is removed. 2. Take Magnesium Citrate (and not magnesium sulphate or any other magnesium xxx). Opt for 100% pure powder and not any other derevative http://www.amazon.ca/Now-Foods-Magnesium-Citrate-Powder/dp/B004189JCW/ Also, homeopathic bio-chemic salt combination number 16 (a.k.a BC salt # 16) is very effective in treating depression.
  3. Yes, I agree that escaping radiation is very hard.....but mostly we're using microwave because of easy-of-use. Moreover, any information is supposed to help us and not to instil fear into us. I always give the example of highway warning signs (e.g deer crossings signs), these signs are meant to warn us so that our drive is safe and not to generate the phobia/fear of deers. So, all knowledge is good; it's upto us how to take it. Personally, we try to avoid microwave if possible especially whatever children are supposed to eat.
  4. After 4 minutes in microwave, it could no longer be called as healthy.....no matter what you put in microwave........ A simple experiment: Boil the water in microwave and let it stay there (in microwave) until it cools down, then pour this water to your plant and compare with plant grown with plain tap water. or do you know a person in USA has been killed when her blood was warmed in microwave and later given in transfusion? I would suggest everyone to read this link thoroughly, it's best article without any overburdened information and with the facts (a rare on internet): Read the first article, your body will thank you! https://www.quantumbalancing.com/news/radiation_ovens.htm http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/3605560
  5. Yes, I understand that and that's the reason I apologized for using the terms in loose manner. I was wrong in using the term in wrong way, but that was not the intention. I'll be more careful in future.
  6. I was neither referring to Hindu Brahmin nor referring to Real Brahmin.........I was referring to the Fake/Scholar/Brahmin in the sense and it did include all the person from all religions. But I should be more explicit when writing something which could be read by anyone..........and I'm Sorry this time that it hurt someone. I've also changed the original post. Thanks for bringing this to the attention. The real Brahmin is the one who knows the God and it has NOTHING to do with our wordly tagging system of Hindu Brahmin......same thing goes for the Sant word which someone might attach to Sikh religion, but in reality Sant and Brahmin is the same in the core sense.. ਬਬਾ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਜਾਨਤ ਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ॥
  7. First of all, thanks everyone for your valued options/suggestions/recommendations/links. I really appreciate it. I just want to clarify certain things as follows: In our family we do path regularly and the children also do the same. We also tell them good qualities, Spiritual principles, how-to-differentiate between good-vs-bad. This part is being done to the extent we are capable off. But the real issue is that kids do spend most of their time in school, TV, Cartons etc......even though we've limited the screen time, but you know they always think about the things from which they have been warned (basic nature of humans). So, we cannot just NO to TV, cartoons, school; I tried that but that increases the real issue........Monkey Mind. So, the next best option is to teach them in a way they can understand via the interactive sessions with books, Tv, cartoons. But eventually, all this doesn't matter because at the end of the day, children do subconsciously follow their habits (from previous birth's karma).......sometimes good seed does germinate quickly if proper environment (including parents) are provided and sometimes not. Souls chose the parents before the birth (if given a chance) so that it's more easier for them to progress based upon their current quota of karma. So, the bottom line is: it is all about the karma but we can't just ignore our responsibilities (even though they are also part of the game).......free-will is also an illusion. Free-will is a delusion as long as one is a slave to the ego's fears and desires. It can be exercised only when one is aware and unattached to desires, and the dualities of life, and has no ego. By cultivating non-attachment one sees beyond liking and disliking, success and failure, loss and gain, pleasure and pain, to the Truth of things. There are very rare who actually does have really free-will (or say no-will or say the will of God); we all are just dancing to the tune of Maya. There is only one way to out: Grace.........even Grace is of 4 types: Grace-Of-God: We already have that as we've the chance (human-body); Grace-of-Scriptures: it is also there; Grace-of-Guru: it comes when the seeker has made the maximum effort and have exhausted; Grace-of-One-self: It is the grace that we have to do on ourselves (as BhagatSIngh as mentioned)....it is having the will to undertake a purposeful journey in life, to do the spiritual work of life, and to prepare oneself. Now, see how these days I've become a Fake Brahmin/Sant/Scholar..........who has learnt the techniques but saala apne te experiment nahi karda. I should remember that: A tiny bit of knowledge is required for Salvation (i.e I'm separated and I'm that).................but there is no point to attain all kinds of knowledge because all knowledge is incomplete without HIM. pata nahi ke likh reha haan, chalo dil to pagal hai!
  8. Thanks BhagatSingh and everyone else. Yes, I know that's the area I'm lacking. Thanks for reminding me. God bless you and your family.
  9. I guess not in the real sense, basically betraying myself. I was devoting more time (even though not quality, but at-least quantity was there) when I was in college 20 years back but now it's a mess.
  10. thanks paapiman........the link you provided is excellent; there should be more like these from traditional sect.
  11. I was trying to find out the Spiritual material (with photos, cartoons etc) in order to teach my growing kids some basic things: Love, Sharing etc...... but was unsatisfied in regards to the unavailability of this kind of material in Sikhism. Our parcharaks are doing nothing in this regard. We ourselves are also hopeless, we waste so much time in arguring about what we think is right interpretation of a religious concept. I feel that we're The assholes, good for nothing......anyways, but I was happy to find that there are lot of educational material in Buddhism (created by educated and level minded people). So, just want to share if anyone is interested: http://www.buddhanet.net/ebooks_childrens.htm We should also create some material NOT to show how we survived in history and sacrifices....but also the concepts of a beautiful Sikhism. Sometimes, I feel that I'm in the wrong place where everyone is after the money race (be it because of family or for oneself), but then realize that I'm also part of this world and if I want to come out, then do the hard work and the Grace will follow. But you know sala maan kurta ha!
  12. Ragmaala bhaji, could you please post the link to Baba Nand Singh Ji's created tune......if possible, I would prefer to have the recording which was recorded when Nand Singh BabaJi was physically present during the recording.
  13. Yes, Gurus did not ran after their children to bring them back, but at the same time They also did not look for active converts like the way we seek. In the end, everyone has the choice of freewill and one should not force their own will on anyone. As the law states: Do the hard-work but do NOT expect the good results.......our job is just to do the hard-work without actively looking for results. That being said, I think we both have expressed ourselves (or may be someone else's thoughts) enough and it's best to leave this topic at current position; because eventually neither you nor me could do anything about it except for writing and arguing about this online....... .....see we're (me included) acting like intellectuals who are just acting at the hands of Mind and thinking we're unique, knowledgeable, etc.etc.etc. ..............e.g I remember a story that I heard........it was a time when Jawaharlal Nehru was invited to inaugurate a Mental Asylum; on the day of inauguration Nehru was introduced to a Mentally unstable person who used to be top rated professor in some University and have also authored couple of books. Nehru spoke with that mental person asking his name etc. to which the person responded correctly but after couple of minutes the person started acting weirdly. At the end of conversation, the Mental person asked Nehru: you've asked me so many questions, but didn't tell me about yourself. To this Nehru stated: I'm The Prime Minister of India.......The mental person sympathetically told Nehru: Don't worry, you will be alright after sometime as every new person in Asylum calls himself Prime Minister........
  14. 100% agree. See, first of all, the identity (a product of Ego) is under the realm of Mind/Maya. Secondly, if a Non-Hindu converts to Sikhism with Sikh identity including Amrit, even then the converted-person would be referred as converted (Previously Hindu and now Sikh) by the person who knew him/her before. It means that we (in general) relate the identity first with the identity at the time of birth. In other words, the identity at birth holds more importance as long as we reside within the community of known persons. But the problem is that: we cannot control the identity at birth (some people say that Sikhs should start having more children, that's also bullshit). The whole point is: Instead of looking for active converts from other religions, one should give more importance to refining the lectures so that our current children does not get carried away to other religions. In other words, we cannot pursue other potential converts but without guarding our own children. The teachings should start at home......Children should be taught the philosophy of Spirituality......e.g 90% parents themselves don't have time, they don't have the knowledge of their own religion........e.g if a child asks why we shouldn't cut our hairs, the parents tell because we're Sikhs.......children are like is that a punishment? if a child asks why we cannot have sex outside of marriage, why we cannot eat meat (or say non-chatka), why we go to Gurudwara.........to all of these questions, most of the time, parents say because we're Guru's Sikh or something along that line (in more confusing form). Bottom-line is: Stick to your at-birth Dharma/Religion (if possible) because that might be the best possible way to progress at that point-in-time; and also try to learn the philosophy of Spirituality and your religion. If we're educated, only then we can educate our children. Otherwise, this life would be just a Race in which one wins and the other looses....just a matter of time!!! That being said, if someone is willing to convert, then he/she should be treated well and allowed. There should be a freedom to choose, after-all God give us the Freewill.
  15. This is the prime example from which Sikh preachers should learn......you seems to be intellectual oriented, even from your perpective we should be ashamed of ourselves that even Ram raheem is able to understand how to attract crowds, but we dumbasses have not understood........Basically, your example of Ram raheem has again verified the fact that in order to convert (or say retain Sikhi) the preachers must preach the philophosy of Sikhism (equality for all) and not the same argument....we're decreasing, so let's do something. Let me give you a very practical example: Let's imagine that someone is Non-Sikh but willing to learn something about God (not dogmatic religion) and searched couple of youtube videos and opened the first link of a top katakar of Sikh and boom after listening to the first 10 minutes, he skips the video because kathakar is just complaining about the minority issues and then boosting of history and eventually asking to take the Amrit.......what do you think; will the seeker come back to Sikh videos.....I guess Not...............on the other hand, he opened a link where a person was explaining the Philosophy of God....hmm, he will stay to listen the whole video.......and later on he might be insterested in becoming part of the group/religion of the preacher..........bottom line is: to put in your terms.....Marketing the religion. Try to understand the timings in real sense........you cannot convert because you were brave and fought against the evil forces, you cannot convert without the Philosophy......The defination of Religion is the Rules around the Philosophy and not the other way around. See around you today's Radha-soamis, Ram raheems, Muslims and many others are successful only because they understand the working of mind and understand that people like philosophy, stories, and promises. Get the real handle on the situation and not just the talk. Regarding Politics, modern Sikhs are far behind that not because they are less in number, its because they don't understand how to play politics. Politics are played and its a kala/skill. Learn that skill first.
  16. Yes, eventually everything is the Will of God. Period. That was survival technique and has nothing to do with Spirituality. Either I'm not expressing myself clearly or you're just bringing the Shakti factor into without understanding the source of it. I will give you couple of examples where thousands converted to Sikhi but using a different approach: The yesterday Saints (Rare-wale, Nanaksar-wale, Mustane-wale, Hoti-Mardan-wale) especially Hoti-Mardan wale came in a time when the population of Sikhs were decreasing day by day. The Saints neither beg nor created the atmosphere where people are forced to have aggresive ideas (katar-panthi); the Saints just did the parchar of knowledge (Spiritual gyan) without asking anyone to convert and the result was lakhs of people converted. Then Yogi Harbhajan Singh came to USA and he started preaching the Spiritual knowledge without asking anyone to convert; but thousands of gore did convert to Sikhi. These days the parcharaks either just beg or vomit the katar-panthi views by giving the examples from 10th Guru's time and just ignore the first 9 Gurus. This is the problem. So, from my point of view, this should be the plan: Do the parchar for the sake of imparting knowledge and not to get the converts; knowledge will bring people to Sikhi (learners and not katar-panthi). After-all the source of Shakti is also the Knowledge/God. This is very crucial point that needs to be understood.
  17. Exactly that's the dilemma.....read my today's original message (It is very hard to come to a concrete conclusion about this because everything is Changing continuously (the only truth is the Change and God). Some rules are mandatory to protect the philosophy but at the same time, the rules always try to become the philosophy because of the continuous corruption by Maya.), we need to find the balance which would be impossible unless we raise ourselves Spiritually. Religion/Rules are needed so that the core Philosophy is not lost, but at the same time the rules should not become the religion itself and all the stress is on rules. It needs to be balanced because it is Maya's. As per Guru Gobind Singh Ji (in Bachitar Natak): a religion spreads only if HIS/WAHEGURU's support is present. It (religion) does not spread because of our own hardwork. But it doesn't mean that we need to stop the hard-work to spread it, but do it with proper mindset.
  18. You're missing the point here. The reason for any religion is to help us to go to our true home. A car is a car which could be used to travel from one point to another. The time we get into the habit of pinpointing why Honda-Civic (car make and model) is more on road as compared to Maruti and how could we increase the presence of one model over the other on the road; at this point we already lost the true meaning of car. Our concern should have been on how to make sure that people are transported from one point to another in a safer and more appropriate way. There isn't any need to convert the user of first model to another. One should use whatever works for them. In other words, the correct question should have been "Why knowledge failed to spread" instead of "Why Sikhi failed to spread"? and the answer is simple, we have tried to Own the knowledge by defining the boundaries. But if the intention is to exercise the already wandering mind, then the original title is perfect.
  19. Do we ourselves understanding what is a Sikhi? Originally, Sikhi was a Philosophy (study of fundamental nature of reality, existence, knowledge, mind etc.).........WWWWH........Who are we and from Where we came, Why are we here, Why we forgot our true home, and How could be go back to our home. It was practiced by all the Gurus but after 5th Guruji, things started to get touch for the followers of that philosophy because the Matrix/Maya forces don't want their properties (Souls) to vanish from their 3 worlds. So, as the time demands, the 10th Guru created a new Identity. This was the need of the hour, otherwise the philosophy could have been erased or corrupted. But later on (due to influence of Matrix forces on our minds) it proved to be a problem because we started to treat the newly created identity as the Dogmatic Religion. Now, we've reached a point where we consider a person Sikh only and only iff he/she a Amritdhari or at-least born in Sikh family with uncut head hair. It wasn't like that before.......a person could be a Sikh (follower of the teachings of Guru Granth Sahib Ji) but still belong to another religion. Peek into history to verify it. Even couple of decades back, when there were known Brahmgyanis.....like RaraSahib wale, Mustane wale, Nanaskar wale, Hotemardan wale etc.....they were preaching the philosophy and not the dogmatic religion. It is very hard to come to a concrete conclusion about this because everything is Changing continuously (the only truth is the Change and God). Some rules are mandatory to protect the philosophy but at the same time, the rules always try to become the philosophy because of the continuous corruption by Maya. Bottom-line is: Avatars came and preach what was relevant at that point and time but we assholes end up doing this vs that and therefore trying to own God. It's like when couple of days back, I was trying to tell my daughters some Spiritual story so that they could learn the importance of Truth and Honesty, but after the story she asked me how the person in story climbed the tree........I was like, am I fool or my daughters are.......then I realized that we (adults) are also doing the same when the point comes to the understanding the real teachings of Sants/Gurus.......so, it's all about the Time when we will understand by the Grace of Him. -------------------------------- Couple of days back, I was watching katha of Gyani Masteen Singh Ji where we was referring to a situation where some Atheists asks that: Ram-Chandar ji in Tretayug was called a Maryada-Purushottam (master of following Dictum/Restrictions/Rules) whereas Krishan ji in Dwaparyug was called Leela-Purushottam (game player who could easily bend/break rules as per the situations) and therefore there is no common ground for the existence of One God. Gyani Maskeen Singh explained in a beautiful way as follows: In Tretayug, the Soul in human body was in primary school where it was the necessity of time to educate about the Rules; so the Avatar came for that. But in Dwapar, the Soul did learnt the rules and now it was time to teach them that the rules were there to protect/discipline the conduct of Mind; so the Avatar came for that.....and now in Kalyug, Guru Nanak Dev Ji came at the time when the humans have degraded themselves so low that their life spans are very short and lot of other tensions; something like Guru Nanak Dev Ji came when the humans are in University where the humans should only be taught how to quickly implement all the learnt knowledge and go to our true home............Gyani ji said that the rules are for the human but when rules start to eat the human, then it is time to leave that rule.....due to this Guru Nanak Dev Ji taught only the concept/techniques which could be utilized by anyone (any caste, creed, religion). das
  20. excellent tips.......he just captured all the necessary things for meditation so precisely that sometimes takes years to learn those!!!
  21. Almost every experience in this Maya world is full of pain.......even taking a birth is a painful process but its a different thing that we don't remember that experience....death, earning money, getting out of bed for some, being a minority to some and countless other experience where there is pain......PAIN is relative term.....so, please STOP frightening people in regards to pregnancy/birth pain. If you're frightened, then it's okay but avoid forcing your relative views to others.
  22. my wife has taken the above mentioned formula and it has helped her tremendously for many health issues.
  23. Alsi alone is hot taseer, so keep in mind that it might ruin your overall health if you don't know how to use it. Secondly, Mirena is controversial and is potentially very risky (releasing hormones in uterus).....risky in the sense that you're willing to take the risk because you just want to remove the pain....I'm not saying pain is okay. Moreover, sometimes it makes sense to visit the doctor, but in this particular case, it is a known fact what doctors are going to suggest (birth pills, Mierna, and some other things along the same lines). In general, it's better to educate oneself and avoid visiting doctors at every sneeze but sometime it is worth. There are other ways around. Here are couple of things that might help you are as follows: Formula for Women (any issue) Ingredients: 250 grams - Jira (Cumin Seed) [V-P+K-] 200 grams - Saunf (Fennel Seeds) [V-P-K-] 50 grams - Ajwain (Carom seeds/Bishop's weed) [V-P+K-] 30 grams - Kala Noon [Sanchal Lavana] (Black Salt) [V-P+K*] 10 grams - Hing (Asfoetida) [V-P+K-] Purchase all of the above mentioned ingredients in whole form (no pre-packed powders) Grind all the above mentioned things but SEPERATELY. This is very important. Then after grinding all of them seperately, mix them in the said ratio and store the formula in some container/jar. The total weight would be 540 grams. Now, prepare 60 packs from the mixed powder so that each packet is 9 grams. Or simply take 9 grams everytime as defined below. One dose is 9 grams and one needs to take 4 doses everyday. In one glass of water, pour 9 grams of powder and mix it througly and let it STAND for one hour. After one hour, drink this glass of water. Repeat points 6 and 7, 4 times a day. Tips: - In the starting the taste would seem to bother but within a week, you will start enjoying as it tastes like Gol-Gappe drink. - In order to permanently cure your issue, you need to take this powder for at-least 6 months. To speed up the process and to stop the pain in one month, also follow the treatment mentioned under "Treatment for Irregular menses (early, late, painful, excessive/less bleeding or backache)"....SKIP this step [This step is optional: Take the following 2 medicines: "Dr. Christopher's Female Reproductive Formula", and "Dr. Christopher's Hormonal Changease".] http://satgur.net/HealthIssue/Detail/24
  24. Try the following: * Do Kirtan Sohila before going to 1st phase of sleep (say 9pm or whatever time you sleep). * Then wake up in Amrit vela, take bath and do your meditation. Do NOT do Japji Sahib yet. * Take another nap if needed. * After second nap, wakeup and then do Japji Sahib. * Or if another nap is not required, then do the Japji Sahib AFTER your meditation.
  25. In more simpler words: Salvation's pre-requisite is the control of Mind. But mind works as per our old habits. So, in order to bring the mind under control is to replace the old habits with new habits. And by definition habit is the result of Repeating [Habit formation is the process by which a behaviour, through regular repetition, becomes automatic or habitual.] Some more details: When we examine our personality we realize that our personality is nothing but deep rooted habits. We try to change our personality but we cannot, because of these habit patterns. A habit is powerful thing. That which we have done repeatedly is our habit. When we do something again and again that action of ours will be stored in Chitta, the store house of merits and demerits. That becomes motivation for us to do same thing again. Habits are motivations in life. Mind always leads us toward our habits (Samsakaras), our senses, and sense objects. Therefore, place special attention on your habits. Yogi Harbhajan Singh has mentioned following interesting stuff, which could definitely help us to change habits. - 40 days to break a habit - 90 days to gain the new habit - 120 days and you are the habit - 1,000 days you are Master of it In order to be successful to change a habit, try to do Path/Simran/Meditation at the STPD: Same-Time-and-Place-Daily (without any skipping).
