  3. This happened in India ( Pakistan) to many Hindu/Sikh women at the time of partition.
  4. Chak Ditha India. Well Done! Article from The Times - Today India have won the inaugural ICC World Twenty20 tournament with a five-run victory over Pakistan. Providing a thrilling conclusion to an excellent tournament, MS Dhoni's side claimed victory with only three runs of the match remaining. In a match that swung repeatedly, Pakistan needed only six runs from four balls to beat their fierce rivals in Johannesburg only for Misbah-ul-Haq to forfeit his wicket and the match with an inexplicable slog-sweep to short fine-leg. The dismissal handed India a victory they deserved after batting well against some excellent bowling from Pakistan and Umar Gul in particular, who finished with 3-28 and helped restrict India to 157-5. On a day when his top-order team-mates underperformed, Gautam Gambhir had anchored the India innings, scoring 75 from only 54 deliveries. Achieved on a wicket that offered little movement, that target looked within Pakistan's capability but aside from their second over - when Imran Nazir scored 20 - they struggled to score heavily until Misbah launched a late onslaught. One of the finds of the tournament, Misbah most impressed in the 17th over when Pakistan needed 59 from 24 deliveries and looked out of the game. Hitting three sixes, he changed that and soon Pakistan needed only 13 from the final over. India's best two bowlers, RP Singh and Irfan Pathan - both claimed three wickets - had by then completed their allocation so responsibility fell to the inexperienced Joginder Sharma. Misbah capitalised with a six but then attempted that sweep and the match was lost. Amid scenes of great celebration at The Wanderers, Dhoni said: "This one of the things I will treasure for the rest of my life. A young side, we came to the tournament and no one expected us to win. We deserve a good celebration. "They [Pakistan] bowled very well. The wicket was not doing too much but we knew one thing. If you have to score more than six an over there is always doubt in the batsman's mind." Shoaib Malik, the Pakistan captain, refused to blame a batting line-up - including man of the tournmant Shahid Afridi, who was out for a duck - that failed to take advantage of his bowlers' good work. "We're sorry we didn't win but we gave 100 per cent," he said. "They [india] have a strong batting line-up. We restricted them to 157 - that was our plan, to restrict them to less than 160. But unfortunately we couldnt do it with the bat. I don't think it was pressure, we had a few bad shots."
  5. Moderator please cut Javamards foul language. Sounds like he needs to read the Gita.
  6. One set of Extremists attackings another set of Extremists !
  7. Where did you read this ? You mean Sadaam had a conscience and a secret admiration for the Sikh faith so he re-built it ? Seems very far fetched story to me..
  8. OK....time to get back to basics.... First I need to remind everyone here GOD is not a Sikh ! (nor is he/she a Hindu or Muslim ). Hence religious ideas are not 'owned' by anybody. From what I can see (via their website & talking to some radhasoamis who have a similar ideology & share some of the Guru lineage) the DSS preach a message that is positive & inclusive. This may be based on some 'Sikh' ideas, so what. They are free to interpret as they wish the religious scriptures given to the world. Was the goal of the DSS leader to mock Guru Gobind Singh Ji ? I doubt it. To me, its very obvious that Sikh extremists are trying to exploit this situation, trying to whip up hysteria. Burning effegies and hurling abuse is not following Sikh principles, but are based on false ego & trying to hurt the sentiments of another relgious sect. Now they want to close the DSS. Strange, a group of people who want a home land for themselves so they can have religious freedom now want to deny that freedom to others.
  9. Get over it amar_jkp, will you. Hindus & Sikhs have a shared history, heritage & dharma. People like you just want to cause hatred. Your very title is disrespectful. How would you feel if I posted a thread on 'Sikh Bakwas'.
