  1. its impossible to arrange cover, but sometimes i feel cos im not there at the gurdwara , then the matter doesnt exist to me . As long as im wiv the jatha doing krtan, that matters more, than if the other sewadaars have to absorb the sewa that i would do.
  2. i want to go to a rainsbhai next week , but the problem is that i will not be able to get up on sunday morning to go to the gurdwara to do the sewa that i do. should i miss the rainsbhai , bearing in mind that there will be a rainsbhai at my local gurdwara in the next 4 weeks? Or should i forget about the sewa and leave it to the others " without really caring about how my lack of support affects them" ? Should I take the " they'll cope one way or another " attitude? Whenever any of the other sewadaars have been absent, it places a strain on us and we wish to waheguru that they would turn up. This sewa that we do no-one else there will do , and its very very important. So sangat Ji , what do you think I should do?
  3. it isnt as bad as its made out. the number of guys and gals "at it" has increased but thats probably down to the dumbass music and film scene. but its not an epidemic. my opinion was that it was mostly college students who were more " liberated " in this respect, rather than village girls. and people can make mistakes whaegurubol.
  4. What role did Hazrat Miyan Mir play in the conflict between Guru Hargobind and the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb? Was there any conflict between Guru 6th and Aurangzeb? as far as i know Jehangir and shah jehan were the rulers at the time of 6th Guru.
  5. one guy said to me about the guru shish thing involving menial service to start with, sucvh as household duties , preparing food etc. I wanted so much to punch the arrogant little sheet in his head !!! His Ustaad taught him for nothing, and the little sheet wanted me to hoover his house, the cheek of it!!
  6. Sant Sunder Singh Ji left this world in 1929, so Baba Joginder Singh would have to be about 90 years old? If this keeps the Budha Dal from splitting up then Baba Ji has done a commendable job. It sooooo easy for people who want to run tings to split off and form thier own groups.
  7. apologies to everyone concerned. can anyone enlighten on what issues are currently in Dal Panth? the issue over Baba Balbir Singh jathedari is the only one me can think of. or could they be discussing poohla?
  8. resolve current issues in the panth? could one of these issues be the installation of Sant Jarnail Singh's picture in the Museum? Cos a lot of hypocrites , Bhattal etc have said that it should not be there. Maybe Budha Dal could convince the central govt to remove all photos of indira , rajiv and nehru to compensate from public buildings to compensate? Or how about Budha Dal resolving the cases of compensation for the victims of 1984, or all victims since? How about Budha Dal resolving the parchaar of the RSS and others who make Sikhi look like a joke? chatanga
  9. what kind of english is that ?? my head is spinning after reading that texting english, dear oh dear...
  10. on my recent visit i found out about Baba Ji Sachkhand Gaman from Rara Sahib. Me never knew this hapned in wolves.
  11. it was also sed that Guru Dasam ji had very long arms. imagine a 5"4 inch tall person wiv long arms...
  12. why are you so suire its propaganda? is what it says against Sikhi? are the quotes from the sanskrit texts true? can any1 verify these words exist?
  13. thats a very good post Tony. I was told once by a muslim who wished me to convert to islam , that " Islam governs everything in your life . there is no aspect of life that Islam doesnt tell you what to do...." This was his ace in trying to get me to becoma a muslim.
  14. if you are an AKJ? how duz one becom an AKJ?
  15. These questions could go on and on for ever. There would be no limit to them. could a man who did such and such be part of this brotherhood... Like Matheen said, common sense is the answer.
  16. its not only the four cardinal sins that gets one thrown out of this brotherhood. those are the four majors, there are plenty of minors as well. murdering would come under the rehit somewhere. your play with words is making a mockery of the rehit.
  17. Quotng Jannat... External appearence and conduct is not of the highest importance to a khalsa all that is important is self-mastery or the journey towards god. are you sure about that Jannat? External appearance is AS important as internal in my eyes. Bani came from Thur, so where did Bana come from ? Bani Bana do pankh udave to quote Suraj Prakash, meaning that Bani and Bani are two wings of the bird. with one absent the other is pointless/useless. Dosnt our behaviour in society fall under external apearance and conduct? Now if someone duz what you say, it dont mena they can still be Khalsa. But mainly Guru Granth or Guru Panth should decied if one is or not. i know that amritdharis sometimes give a bad name with thier misdeeds to our religion ( and may Akal always protect me as well from doing this) but this post seems to be goign inn the direction of " if your mind is pure/clean then no bana /external appearance is necessary... chatanga

  19. Pray truth to all And Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Jee Kee fateh I know you scholars have done ardas for this chatanga, and enabled me with the strength to finally take Khande ki pahul. Akal chatanga
  20. i dont thnk that written letters went out. I had thought that Guru Ji sent invitation throught he masands by word oof mouth to reach Anandpur by Vasaikhi, and also that these invitataions went out months before the actual event, cos travelling in india in thiose times would takes weeks and months to cross the breadth of the country, and as one of the Beloved Panj Pyare came from Orissa, which is right on the east coast of the country then think how much time he would have needed to reach Anandpur Sahib.
  21. deh shiva is Guru describing the power of God, ie sword aka Chandi. This at the end of the Chandi Charitar which describes the power of God Chandi against evil ie rakshas. at the end Guru Says Please Chandi(shiva) aka sword/God give me this boon... For many moons i couldnt make out why Guru Ji wrote Shiva, until I read about Shiv Ji nad found that Shiv Ji actually accorded the status of Shiva to Parbati who was an incarnation of Chandi. tis quite complicated, and dumbasses make a lot of mileage out of this, including my Sikh friend who used this line to "prove" that Sikhs were part of the Hindu religion.
  22. is this janamsakhi available in english?
  23. I have given my head to my Beloved. That hasn't changed at all. Yes the amrit samchar derives from Shi'a chivalry orders but I can't be part of a community that hates Ahl ul Bayt (as) and has so many elements in its rahit that show hatred for Muslims... to quote JM.. Did you know about the Sikhs hating ahlul bayt before you came to Sikhi?
