  1. Mata Sundar becoming the official leader of the Dal Khalsa.Thats a new one on me. I thought Dal Khalsa came into being with Nawab Kapur Singh, whilst before there were many jathas under their own command. Can anyone expand? Can we also assume that as Nihangs took birth at this time that there were in Dal Khalsa non-nihangs?
  2. Apologies to admin and to all other members.
  3. ive never heard of Mata Sahib Kaur/Devi being refered to as Durga. nor in the katha i have by Baba Santa Singh. And didnt Durga say she would appear in Kaljug as a sword, according to Sau Sakhi? This is the same "devi " that Guru Ji produced at the mountain, is it not?
  4. ok gsingh, who is actually ignoring Baba Bir Singh. Me who duznt know anything about him, or you who know about him, but havent been able to tell anyone. There are so many things in sikhi that we dont know about. we will only know when YOU talk about them. As for the e-parchariks they are talking about something they know. Why aint you? Why isnt there info about Baba Bir Singh going around on the intranet? And my benti is repaeted from my earlier post.
  5. beetlejuice , i would say that you ARE a thong, cos you are full of b.ollox. and not the good sort either! Admin Note: This is your first verbal warning chatanga, please stop the personal attacks towards members. Bettlejuice also got a verbal warning before getting an offical 1st warning
  6. gsingh, me dont which gurdwara you go to,but at our gurdwara no-one talks about 1984 , or the Khalsitan movement. evrythig is on gurbani or purataan shaheed, so you are talking rubbish me thinks. Now thats sad. In our gurdwara we have only 2 pics inthe whole place, and they are both of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale. However we "youths" are aware of this and have started a project where we intend to put up pics of historical gurdwaras, which many people will not really have heard of and also write the history of that place alongside it so sangat will know. We are hoping to focus on more less known gurdwaras ie the Gurdwara of Bhai NabiKhan Ghani Khan in Machiwara, Gurdwara Bhai Bachitar Singh Kotla Nihang Khan etc, where people generally dont think of going. If any sangat here can ( esp. freed) put up any pics of the more less known but historicaly important gurdwaras , or post the links, and the history, then it will be really appreciated.
  7. im not a sadhu, granted, but Im not an idiot either who sees the negative in anything that somebody does.
  8. ok now im worried, you walking around nanga? you seem nanga inside as well...
  9. Dear Neo, sikhi in a person life starts when they become aware of it. No-one says that sikhi wasnt here b4 84. I and my family only became aware of what Sikhi is after operation bluestar. B4 this my family had no idea about Sikhi, and this was the same scenario for most Sikhs in the westren world. Now you saying that we belive there was no sikhi b4 1984, you need to check yo'self before you wreck yo'self. People like myself have never claimed there was no sikhi before 84, we can only claim that we were spiritually asleep bfore 84, and woke up in 84. please refrain from writing drivel, cos I know that you can do much better. As for Satguru Fateh Singh, thankyou.
  10. and who teaches these special five?
  11. you was getting close to breaking your rehat by getting your kashera into a twist. That worried me. Now the camp organisers wiv the kirpa of Akal have clearly expressed their intentions, so I'm hoping that you would be relieved, and you wouldnt get your kashera into a twist, therefore not breaking your rehat, and avoiding having to go pesh. I was worried about you, but now im not.
  12. why duznt the rabab entice anybody to play it these days? Sure in raag kirtan people play sarangi( i play kinda badly) , saranda , taus etc, but no-one is learning rabab. Is there no-one available to teach it? in the kirtan class i attend, there 1 sarangi learner, 2 taus learners and about 6 dilruba leaernes. no one is learning rabab.
  13. have we not strayed form the discussion once again, going back to sikhi/shia origins?
  14. i'll pass on your concerns to the organisers, beetlejuice.
  15. shaheediyan, im sorry, but i have really very little input into the whole thing. i only knew a camp was hapnin when i read the poster. On the camp years ago, Harjinder Singh Lallie came down and that was my first ever experience of Raag Kirtan, and from then i was hooked. I simply do not have the jeevan or vidya or arrange or represent kirtan. However i hope that the organisers have arranged something.
  16. i would think they are of the same caste. dogra is a caste, not a gotra.
