  1. With regards to Halal Meat. Previous post was getting long, but here is Guru Nanak mentioning about Brahmins eating Halal or abhakhiya ka Khutta in Asa Di Vaar. Ang 471
  2. You need to look at this shabad in Adi Guru Granth Sahib Ang page 1289 I will highlight some parts where Guru Nanak shows that Purana and Kiteb (abrahamic texts Bible/Quran/Torah etc) allow meat! This is the start of the shabad page 1289 Next, Guru ji explains about the devte eating Rhinoceros regularly. Here is where Guru ji mentions Meat in Purans and Kitebs.
  3. @KIRNY25 did you even visit the forum after posting? I just don't understand why it's hard for sikh women to keep their hair, when just a few decades ago most sikh women did keep their hair even if they were married to mona men. Actually a few decades ago, most sikh families saw it as freaky for women to cut their hair.
  4. ok I am also creating a separate subreddit forum for uk sikhs, I will make a separate thread to poll for a name. yes that's probably r/sikh subreddit which I do not moderate. We will 100% not have this issue with r/sikhawareness LOL
  5. today, when I was listening to Tav Prasad Swaiye with my eyes closed sitting in lotus position, I had this weird sensation on the top back of my head (is that where dasam duar is?) IF felt a bit like when an aeroplane is changing levels, it also made me feel a bit sick (I get sick on aeroplanes when changing levels) which was making it difficult to concentrate...
  6. Started a subreddit for sikhawareness a while back. https://www.reddit.com/r/Sikhawareness Since I don't really have the time, I really need some members to help me out. So the aim of the subreddit is to showcase content from Sikh Awareness onto Reddit. Reddit just has so many members globally, so it's an excellent place to learn about sikhi. Please let me know whoever can help, I am also available on Reddit with the same username as here. Also let me know if anyone has ideas on contributing to a subreddit for uk sikhs, I think there is one needed urgently!
  7. Maybe replace Baptism with Initiation. OR perhaps just combine Amrit / Baptism into Pahul - Amrit on it's own does not really make it clear if it's physical Amrit or spiritual Amrit.
  8. so what if the panj pyararay sewak practises jhatka maryada but then goes to a place where meat is served??????
  9. are you on sikh subreddit? I saw your posts on this site and sikhawareness. You should definetly join the subreddit and post on there as well

The usual one was taken. I can't seem to attach attachments to the posts on reddit?

yes I don't think you can attach stuff on reddit. normally for images imgur.com is used.

for other documents you have to send links to wherever they are uploaded.

you should reply to some of the users that commented on your thread!

  10. you definitely should, it will change your whole perspective. The more you learn gurmukhi, the more you will see how illogical and unedcuated the way spellings are done for English language, they don't even make full use of the resources of symbols and characters to spell, that's how dumbed down and unintelligible it is!
  11. yes. maybe we should post resources like smartphone apps and Youtube videos, etc...
  12. last time I checked they were still Tisarpanth on facebook
  13. no, most of this stuff is already done in the uk. There are archery clubs for public to join. There are shooting ranges that just need some kind of form to fill, no need for ownership of any guns. we could have gurdwaras as the bases for promoting such activities.
  14. They seemed to have moved to Facebook and changed their ethos. They are now no longer Budha Dal centric and seem to now be looking at sikh panth from a non-Nihang angle.
  15. if we could revive our traditions, and have groups of Singhs going hunting, and practising shastar such as going to the shooting range, or archery ranges, or going horse riding, also learning wrestling etc etc ... if we could do this then many sikhs may not go to the route of needing to go into these gangs
  16. so who will be the new jathedaar of the baba Surjit Singh lineage? Was the accident part of a conspiracy?
  17. I just found out it is illegal to hunt anything in India. So how does one practise shikkar in India?
  18. exactly, we need to follow grihast jeevan which requires to get a life partner at a decent age ie marry young. This was promoted by Guru Nanak and is an important part of sikhi! And since we no longer respect this, our community is falling under th 5 vikaar/panj chorr.
  19. a Singh also requires sanjam kiriya, do bethaka (squats) and pressups (dand). this will help in sitting in asan.
  20. are you also ready to train with shastar as well? nitnem is important even for sehajdhari sikh, but for one who takes khanda dee pahul, shastar pooja via shastar training is Guru hukam.
  21. Read Chandi Di Vaar in your nitnem, also maybe Ugardanti and Shastar Mala. If you concentrate on the battle in Chandi di Vaar you can expel you anger during the paat
  22. no my ancestral pend is around Kartarpur.
  23. I think we need to start with the sehajdhari sampradaiye such as udasi, sewapanthi, some nirmala, Nanakpanthi, NanakShahi, singh sikhs. These sikhs are more able to influence hindus than the current brand of mainstream sikhs.
