  1. Not only Oxford but this particular paper was written by the Chair of Sikh Studies at Wolverhampton University - none other than Opinderjit Takkar. There's a reason. Obviously she does not care about kes and such, so tries to justify it with "Guru Granth Sahib doesn't say anything about kes etc" What are these people going to do for the future of the Panth. I'm worried.
  2. Is that what you saw? Only Jatts? The Kisaan Andolan had that name for a particular reason - it represented all farmers. It's very feeble thinking that you should portray it with a twist, and you fall in the same group of Kangana Ranauts who called it a Khalistan movement. I think that says more about you yourself? That your mind is just as feeble as theirs? There is and was a working system in India for food sourcing and procurement. The same system that is been in place for centuries. But under the new system, that would all be open to abuse and exploitation. Given that the new system was created by, and it's implementation oversaw by Modi's financial strongmen, who do you think would have come off worse? Well why would they have a problem? Those handfull of jaats who became Sikhs did so, after witnessing the Sikhs standing up for their rights, and a greater exposure to Gurmat during the Andolan. Well obviously you know more than us on this subject. Let's hear the names of those jaats who murdered and raped countless Sikhs around 84 who then became Sikhs in 2020/21. Because these peasants and jaats were combined in a united mission against a greater threat. Have you learned zero about strategy during conflict from your studies of Sri Gur Panth Parkash..........lol? Great. And you've won the debate. What are YOU like is what should be discussed I think? You've been saying this for something like 10 years, but just like they don't seem to change... What would you have liked to have seen during the whole "jut pocket bachao morcha"? They aren't the only ones then. But they did stand up and make a change when it was most crucial. That's always the case for the wolf climbing the hill. It was the case during the times of the Gurus, and the Dal Panth. Its the same now. And it's not restricted to India either.
  3. I have been listening to katha of Sri Gurbilas Patshahi Chhevin and most certainly recommend it to members on this forum. SGGS Academy have done a great job of katha for this granth, and I have also come across this granth also which is beleived to be from Guru Gobind Singh's kavi darbar: "Prem Ambodh Granth"
  4. If anybody is interested this is a link to the katha to our group effort on translation of these passages:
  5. What do you think is being said in the paragraph ?
  6. What's stupid about thanking others who are helping thousands and thousands of people in flood stricken Panjab? The Pakistanis opened their floodgates to reduce the water level on our side of Panjab, flooding their own land in and around Kasur. What is wrong with that in your eyes? People who saw partition now have one last chance, a chance to the homes, villages, lands and towns that they grew up before they depart to the next world. What exactly is wrong with allowing that to happen?
  7. I think it might be the other way round. These types of Sikhs insist on being called Sikhs, but have no qualms in being labelled as part of the wider Hindu religion. I would add pity to that. I pity these guys who have this urbanite kind of mentality. They bore the brunt of the genocide in Delhi 1984, they have a Widows Colony in their midst, they walk past the Red Fort every day, which has reneged on promises to Sikhs causing all these problems, and yet they pride on calling themselves "Indians." I have heard this reasoning from a lot of Sikhs. But what the point of being economical successful, when the state can kill some 30,000 of your people in false police encounters, and do with no fear of national or international law? The Jews were very afluent in Germany yet were begging to save themselves from starvation due to the government they lived under.
  8. Brothers and sisters, it's been a long time since I last visited. I think I must be the worst active participant on this forum lol. I am posting an excerpt from a book I have been reading and would like your views on the paragraph please. I wont share the book title or author yet though. Thanks!
  9. Thousands of Sikhs killed in Delhi, and majority of killers are still evading justice, yet our Sikh brothers in Delhi...
  10. Was reading this book and saw this paragraph that I'd like to share with everyone. It's is middle paragraph.
  11. It starts by: "ik oankaar satguru prasad | Prichha (Questions/Test?) Patshahi Daswin Sri Akal Purkh ji sahai | Das wari Waheguru japna | Ar pasa dhalna | Jo bachan aawe so sati kar manna | Vasrev vasrev Chaupai | Arthi jo tu chitwat he man mahi | I'll look at the rest later. Any idea of the title of this granth?
  12. Thanks for informing us. I have noticed that there is a twitter tidal wave of indian vitriol against the Sikh people as a whole. I would have to re-read the books of Hari Ram Gupta as I cannot recall these details. It's been a long time since I read them. But the post itself is a way of our Maratha brothers making themselves feel better because ultimately they were a failure. They had massive armies, outnumbering Sikhs at least threefold. They had superior weapons to the Sikhs, as they began using artillery way before the Sikhs did, as Sikhs were still fighting mainly as cavalry. What did the Maratha army acheive in the long term? They never managed to hold onto their own stronghold of Maharashtra. And whats amusing is, that these Maratha supremacists revel in their fights against the Sikhs, of which they won some, but also lost some. Why fight Sikhs who essentially were sons of the soil? This only strengthened the outsider powers. What exactly did they achieve against the British or the Afghans? I'll see if I can look up some info about this over the weekend.
  13. WJKK WJKF to all! Its been a long time since I visited or commented, as I rarely have anything new to comment lol. But I found this katha of Sri Gur Bilas Patshahi Chhevin on Soundcloud: https://on.soundcloud.com/dSKJP I've listened to the first part so far, and its really good.
  14. I hear you bro. Since lockdown last year, work commitments have kept me super duper busy that I don't even have the time or strength for reading anymore nevermind writing on forums. Welcome to life lol.
  15. Who would go back to india seeing the total lack of help shown to one of their citizens?
  16. It's easy to challenge liars like 1699 and refute their lies. What will never be acheivable is these liars accepting the truth. Because of that there is no merit in any discussion with these maggots. Absolutely. But you will always get those maggots that simply refuse to acknowledge anyones understanding but their own, or the case of 1699, the missionary professors.
  17. No matter if it's rescinded. The fact it that it was proclaimed in the first place.
  18. You're asking a liar to tell you the truth.
  19. What have the 5 takhts been able to do for Gurdwara Dongmar, Sikkim, which was taken over 2 years ago by a Buddhist gang? Or even Gurdwara Gyan Godri, where Guru Nanak Dev Ji "fed" his fields with Ganges water? What about Gurdwara Arti Sahib, where Guru Nanak composed his famous Arti? Taken over in Orissa 2 years ago? Having your own asthaans doesn't equate to reach or influence. Buddha Dal has a biscuit factory that I'm aware of. So the burning question is, why haven't they?
  20. Please list any members you know. No because the visas are all issued through the SGPC and no-one can just go and take control/care of any buildings there.
  21. I haven't been on it for ages. I didn't know it had changed since. Can only be a good thing.
  22. Sorry to say brother, but you seem to be very optimistic of Buddha Dal's reach and capabilities. They can, and have done nothing. But does that surprise you? In the last 2 years Gurdwara Dongmar in Sikkim (India) has been taken over by Budhists, yet no Buddha Dal there. The only 2 organisations that can do anything is SGPC and PSGPC. However the PSGPC is extremely weak, although the they have registered a case in Pakistan to get it back, but that, as in India, takes years. It's already been 4 years and no development. The only way is to highlight it, whenever and wherever we can. Unfortunately no, because SGPC controls all parcharaks from Panjab who go there, which means that no Samprdai has any influence ther.
