  1. WJKK WJKF All!!! :-) Waheguru has blessed dass with a child and lil one should be entering our world around May 2011, making me nearly six months pregnant, now heres my question. Throughout pregnancy I have been told various things by various gursikhs about sikhi and the soul etc etc.......but what puzzles me is: - When the soul enters the body, does it even experience suffering? At what point does waheguru begin rakhiah of the soul.....surely there has to be a peroid of suffering for the soul..... as per gurbani tuks where Guru Maharaj talks about the pain of being in the womb, but also talks about waheguru nurturing the soul and protecting it whist in the womb, at this point my confusion begins. Could some you you enlighten souls please help point in the right direction as to whats going on in my uterus on a spiritual level.......i am very curious to understand it.... bhul check khima WJKK WJKF
  2. wjkk wjkf sandsangat jio. There is a meeting taking place at Smethwick Gurdwara on Monday 30th August 2010 at 8pm. (TONIGHT) It is with geat remorse that the sikh kaum again is being attacked through disrespect and beadbi of our Living Guru. This is a benti to every sinlge one of you that serves Guru Granth sahib Ji Maharaj whether are are amritdhari or non-amritdhari, akj, taksali, nihang, nanaksari....We are sikhs FIRST AND FOREMOST and... we serve only Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj. Please attend to show your support in any way that your can....this is not organised by any jatha and not in accosiation with any guruwara, Smethwick is just a convenient location as there is a simeran program happening there already.... Two weeks ago it was revealed that beadbi of over 2500 saroops of Guru Granth Ji Maharaj aglong with other sikhi pothiah and granths has been on-going for over a 13 year time span. Angs of Guru Maharaj were pulled out of gutters and streams and other were found with insects and rats infected within Guru Maharaj's pavitar Ang. A beadbi of this scale has happend and yet the panth remains silent. How long will each one of you reading this message remain ignorant and pass the responsibility to others? How many of you will forward this meassage and then forget about it in a weeks time? Beanti to sangat ji, wake up, a jatha of singhs and singhniah is being organised to travel to India to find out why this happend. Now is the time to stand up and serve the master you gave you head to.... There is a meeting taking place at Smethwick Gurdwara on Monday 30th August 2010 at 8pm. Make you actions count. Show your support. Now is the time. wjkk wjkf
  3. hmmm i dont realy think that quantifies as "love" you can have a desire (icchha) for someone that you bring forth into this life.......love is God, god is beyond anything you could possibly comprehend. its best not to mix the two ideologies....True Love is True Bhagti....True Love will take you back to the Source....it will not send you back to the hell you are trying to escape from....
  4. WJKK WJKF..!! Sangat Ji I require larivaar pothia for santheya classes starting soon, was wondering in anyone.....UK Based had any spares or un-used senchia of the following titles...? 6. WJKK WJKF being one of the mods of Sikhsangat i have a good idea who is starting these threads about the sikh camp.....the camp itself is inline with positive gurmat parchaar.........and the person starting these threads has nothign more that a personal vendetta against some of the sewadars helping organise it.... So in the interest of people who are interested in going to this camo, please edit or close any such thread..............people should make up their own minds and not have mindless idiots caste doubt into people's heads who are trying to come into sikhi. bhul chuck di cheema jio WJKK WJKF
  7. i wanna open this discussion back up again..........I recently went to the smamgem in Loughbrough, UK and had chance to do some vichaar with Giani Thakur Singh Ji, he again mentioned specifically, the Mayan Calander and 2012...........he went on to tell a sakhi of Sant Harnam Singh Ji ( Rampur khereh) wale and how sant ji made a massive lists of things They wanted to happen........The Guru Gobind Singh ji appeared before him and picked up the list and went through it. Guru ji, ticked the things that could be done and then some things he said "No" Sant Ji questioned as to why they could not happen and Guru Ji said "these things must happen......because Akaal Purakh and willed them to happen.........." It just got me thinking that maybe 2012 is an inevitable thing that has been, and maybe will be posponed but will surly come to pass....... any thoughts?
  8. The idea of Khalistan is more appealing the the actual reality, which will be no different to the average local gurdwara committee
  9. Taken from Sikh Sangat, make of it what you will............................. CONVERSATIONS WITH THE SRI GURU GRANTH SAHIB JI Topic: Eating Meat Question: Guru Jee please tell me can Sikhs eat meat? "O Kabeer! Those that use force and kill and call it lawful, after going to the Court of God, what will be their state? ||187||" (SGGS - Ang 1374) Question: But my friends told me that I should eat meat because it is good for me and will make me strong. Is it that bad if I have meat now and again? "O Kabeer! The dinner of beans and rice is excellent, if it is (just) flavoured with salt. I am not ready to have my own throat cut to have meat with my bread? ||188||" (SGGS - Ang 1374) Question: But Guru Jee, why can't Sikhs eat meat? "Do not cause any being to suffer, and you shall go to your true home with honor." (SGGS - Ang 322) Question: That's all good, but I have seen Nihang Singhs do Jhatka and they say that its on going tradition to slaughter goats and eat its meat. So is it okay for the Nihang Singhs to do Jhatka? 2॥ "You kill living beings, and call it a righteous action. Tell me, brother, what would you call an unrighteous action? If you religious people are doing "religious" killing for meat, then what is A-dharam (atheism)? If you are a religious person then whom will we call a butcher? ||2||" (SGGS - Ang 1103) Question: Okay. What about eating fish? I suppose that isn't really meat? "O Kabeer! Those mortals who consume marijuana, fish and wine - no matter what pilgrimages, fasts and rituals they follow, they will all go to hell. ||233||" (SGGS - Ang 1377) Question: Guru Jee, can you eat meat and still do Bhagti (devotional worship)? "If in all is the one God, then why kill a chicken?" (SGGS - Ang 1350) Question: Does it affect our spirituality if we eat meat? "If one's clothes are stained with blood, the garment becomes polluted. Those who drink the blood of others - how can those people's consciousness be pure?" (SGGS - Ang 140) Question: Guru Jee does becoming a vegetarian make me religious? If I just give eating meat, does that please you? "Only the fool quarrels over the question of eating or not eating of the meat; that person does not have the True Wisdom. (Without True Wisdom or Meditation), the person harps on which is flesh and which is not flesh and which food is sinful and which is not." (SGGS - Ang 1289-1290) Question: So a Sikh doesn't eat meat because a Sikh should have compassion and kindness for living life, but what thing makes a person religious if just becoming a vegetarian doesn't make a person religious? "Chanting the Name of the Lord all doubts are dispelled. Naam, the Name of the Lord is the highest religion." (SGGS – Ang 874) Question: Guru Jee thanks for clearing up things. But why is the Panth in doubt over what "Kuttha" means and whether it means Halal meat or all meat? "O Kabeer! What can the True Guru do, when His Sikhs are at fault? The blind do not take in any of His Teachings; it is as useless as blowing into bamboo. ||158||" (SGGS – Ang 1372)

  11. recently im finding that just "waking up"...............at amritvela is a huge blessing in itself....................try not to ritualise the concept............if ur finding it hard............just wake up.................walk about ur bedroom, have ur nitnem on audio in the background, or go for a walk outside whilst doing ur nitnem...........until this phase passes...............enjoy simply "being" in amritvela...........the rest will sort itself out......just a suggestion
  12. I havent read New World yet and i decided to re-read the Power of Now and have just finished Stillness Speaks, I will not describe them as, with anything you read, the experiences these books take you through, is simply beyond words, and my thoughts and views, are mines, and may dampen the experience you will have of reading this book. It is best, as described by the Author, to use the words the author uses as mere pointers and observe how you feel when you are reading, It took me 4 months to read the book in its entirety due its profound effect, but in a nutshell, this book has nailed what duality and ego truly is, in a simple way and ways to accept it and go beyond it, I feel to truly appreciate the New World series by Tolle, one must definatly read The Power of Now first...................you will appreciate it much more.......... Would definatly reccomend reading these books.............this guy has nailed some of the most fundamental concepts of Sikhi.
  13. The Power of Now Stillness Speaks A New World by Eckhart Tolle Fantastic books!!
  14. waheguru..... Each of us is filled with a vice.....problems arise because we are not aligned with ourselves.......we cannot or moreso do not wnt to see the filth that resides in us...............hence come the false claims of fake brotherly/sisterly love................the only person we can ever fool is ourselves...............the only person who suffers in all this is us.............yet we are all searching for the same thing..............but we turn to the desease itself for a cure............
  15. lol......i wouldnt normallu post this on a forum but hey you guys here are so open about this kinda stuff so i thought ill share..........now i have personally encountered 2 past life experiences as i was a case study for a friend of mine while he was doing his Past Life Regression qualification........so it was like a controlled hypnotic state..........it was stange as i thought i was making the whole thing up but when i was prompted for dates...........i rattled them out without knowing where the information was coming from..........however i was a devout muslim in my last life i remember that much and had recited the Koran from heart but if you were to put a koran in front of me now i could not read it............i think all these things needs to be taken with a pinch of salt...........take what u need from them and leave them behind........... interesting topic.........
  16. When did Guru Gobind Singh Ji leave that suddenly he needs to "come back"?
  17. lol...........classic.....i actually laughed out aloud reading that!!
  18. A very thought prevoking reply shaahediyan pahji, i whole-heartedly agree with your sentiments, but if, for example, when making the decision to marry, one, is still very unsettled within themselves, and is in danger of using marraige as pretext of escaping or covering up the real issues one needs to deal with............... how do feelings and emotions for your spouses remain under control so that your spiritual journey does not become over-shadowed?
  19. I know this thread is old but, i was realy lucky to have darshaan of Giani Thakur Singh Ji, in many ways my sikhi journey started with his katha.....HThey came to the Parkash 300 program last year in Hayes, and also did some diwans in Wolverhampton..........ill never forget what he sed to me.......it went something along the lines of "People are always saying that "Oh Guru Gobind Singh is going to come back", I say when did he leave us...........Guru Gobind Singh Ji is standing here, right now, as we speak, when you dont have the eyes to see Him, Guru Nanak didnt go anywhere, Guru Ji is still here, its only worth you teekhing matha, to Guru Granth Sahib Ji, if, when u look up, you see The roop of all ten gurus." He also sed that Sikh need to be like a "Pahaar" no matter much, wind, hail storms come to pass, the mountain never moves, You need to build your jeevan, ur giaan in sikhi, do bagti, and become that Pahaar, so when people come to shake your Guru, u stall tall and proud, the reason Sikhi is going down the drain is because people want to learn about everything expect whatGuru Granth Sahib Ji is telling us....." That was the gist of the conversation, i mean They are so gupt.............i was sitting in the langar hall, babbling away, they suddenly i look behind and They are sitting there, quietly eating Langer, no fuss, no attention, but the something when u sit with Them...........cant explain it but ive never felt so at peace in those few moments sitting with them....... aaaaaah memories...........
  20. Waheguru Jio, I have posted this here as im more concerned with the spiritual aspects of an anand karaj....doing what i do best..........observe.......lol........ marriage, i find kinda scary......simply bcos...........there is the fear that without truly understanding what contitutes love and marraige and how these both fit in with sikhi............and if one marriages simply bcos............they have "come of age" and marriage is the "next step"..... how can two soul discover each other and keep thier sikhi in tact? So i guess what im trying to say is.........if you havent discovered your own spiritual light/path/etc.....can you be ready for marriage and its trials and tribulations? sorry if i sound confusing.........its most likly bcos i am  waheguru....
  21. waheguru.......having learned this the hard way , these are indeed true words of wisdom...........
  22. totally agree...........i guess my response is heavily influened by the notion that some think, that God is in Ego and that God needs us........... Even if someone is blessed with understanding God (Braimgyaan) its something that could never be communicated via words...............my apologies if my reply indicates that......
