  1. The quran makes no mention of stoning, but: 5:33 Those who wage war against God and His Messenger and strive to spread corruption in the land should be punished by death, crucifixion, the amputation of an alternate hand and foot or banishment from the land: a disgrace for them in this world, and then a terrible punishment in the Hereafter I'm pretty sure that if Jesus had a problem with stoning, he'd have a bigger one with crucifixion. The reason that Sufism is so close to Sikhi is because of the influence of Indian and other religions which affected its development, not because the original Islam was anything like Sikhi. What you are doing is making up a revisionist history of Islam to make it more palatable - for yourself or for the sangat, I don't know which yet. K.
  2. You have no idea what you are talking about. 1) The houris as a reward in paradise (the infamous 72 virgins, though the quran mentions no number) are mentioned in the quran itself, not just the hadith. The paradise described in the quran is clearly a place, it is nothing like the Sikh goal of immersion in and union with Akal Purakh. According to Surah 56 lines 34-36, it mentions that one's spouse is resurrected for you in heaven as a virgin. 2) Islam wasn't manipulated for war and conquest while peaceful Sufis upheld the original Islam - you've got it all backwards. Islam was war and conquest from the beginning: "Slay them wherever you find them...Idolatry is worse than carnage...Fight against them until idolatry is no more and God's religion reigns supreme." (Surah 2:190-) "Believers, when you encounter the infidels on the march, do not turn your backs to them in flight. If anyone on that day turns his back to them, except it be for tactical reasons...he shall incur the wrath of God and Hell shall be his home..." (Surah 8:12-) "Make war on them until idolatry shall cease and God's religion shall reign supreme." (Surah 8:36-) "...make war on the leaders of unbelief...Make war on them: God will chastise them at your hands and humble them. He will grant you victory over them..." (Surah 9:12-) "Fight against such as those to whom the Scriptures were given [Jews and Christians]...until they pay tribute out of hand and are utterly subdued." (Surah 9:27-) "It is He who has sent forth His apostle with guidance and the true Faith [islam] to make it triumphant over all religions, however much the idolaters [non-Muslims] may dislike it." (Surah 9:31-) "Fight against such as those to whom the Scriptures were given [Jews and Christians]...until they pay tribute out of hand and are utterly subdued." (Surah 9:27-) "It is He who has sent forth His apostle with guidance and the true Faith [islam] to make it triumphant over all religions, however much the idolaters [non-Muslims] may dislike it." (Surah 9:31-) "Believers, make war on the infidels who dwell around you. Deal firmly with them." (Surah 9:121-) "Muhammad is God's apostle. Those who follow him are ruthless to the unbelievers but merciful to one another." (Surah 48:29) The earliest hadith decribe the war, conquest, rape and pillage of various tribes by Mo. To ignore the earliest source texts of Islam and pretend that these events never happened and that Islam is all sweetness of light is simply dishonest and a form of taquiyyah used by sullay to entrap gullible idiots. If anything, it is the Sufis who have manipulated Islam from its original fascist arab supremacist ideology into a form of spirituality which bears more similarity to Indian religions than the original Islam of Mo. Regards, K.
  3. No, Sikhi does not allow slavery. Members of the Khalsa Panth have one Mother and one Father. Who could enslave their own brother or sister? There is a vast difference between a slave and hired help. What's with the recent topics such as this one about slavery and the other about paedophilia? Are these issues that your new sullay friends are raising as part of their dawah bullshit? K.
  4. Read past the first post and see the rest of the thread. I don't see how being called a kafir, comparing the dastar with a bandage, and the rest of the crap is praise. Maybe you should find a different forum for cricket news. K.
  5. When you do namaz, you are doing pooja of a meteorite and some black cube in which the murti of Allah, his daughters Al-Lat and Al-Uzzah, and other Meccan deities used to reside. K.
  6. 20 quid says that this pir's revelation about whatever it is he thinks Sikhs are not ready for will be the usual Muslim dawah bullshit about Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji really being a Muslim. I feel sorry for the fools who look for secrets from pirs, sufis, saadhs, or whatever about our own Gurus when we as Sikhs have access to the sargun form of Akal Purakh in the roop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. K.
  7. Yes, quote some Gurbani to make you feel better about your own ridiculous religious confusion. There is one Satguru in this Kal Yuga, and it ain't your "devi" with the hugging fetish. I just want you to know that I find the bilge you spew and mistake for real learning wonderfully entertaining. It is so clear that your one paltry "mystical" experience has unhinged your mind to such a degree that, years later, you are still repeating the same claptrap over and over again like a broken record in a garbled tongue, spun by a madman. You are in the same position that you were years ago, nothing has changed in your avastha and you are still completely ruled by your own haumai. Tell me, in the time that you were away, have you learned Gurmukhi - or even Sanskrit - or are you still too egotistical and lazy to learn? I often use you as an example of the dangers of having a basic and simple "spiritual visions" that any fool can have with a little practice and not being able to let them go to experience a deeper truth. Ten years from now, you will be exactly the same person you are now, writing the same longwinded, rambling, meaningless posts. K.
  8. That foot juice she's been drinking from her gooroo must be some seriously potent stuff. Kind of like watching a kid on acid and speed trying to explain why she thinks superman is really, really cool and much better than spiderman. A pox upon the house of whoever invited her back. K.
  9. I am not worthy do be the dust on the feet of some of the Guriskhs here, but sarbatdapala ji, if you ever want to talk to about your concerns, or if you just want to shoot the breeze, send me a PM whenever. Also, I would suggest that you obtain a circle of friends who share a common interest outside of religion, perhaps something like a martial arts group so that you have a circle of support from people who will not influence your religious ideals. Sometimes it is a good idea to have a non-religious activity on which you can focus your mind. Regards, K.
  10. So let me get this straight. Our ancestors were martyred, thousands of men, women and children achieved martyrdom rather than give up their faith for the cult of Mohammed, and you want to start doing namaz because some of your friends are being a l? If you want the sangat of rehatvaan Gursikhs with noble character and Gursikhi jeevan, then do an ardas for this. There are sadhanas in Sankat Mochan and Sharda Pooran Granth do obtain the kind of Sangat. At the end, no one will go with you. Not your friends, not your family, not your sangat, and none of your shiny new Muslim friends either. You are better off your doing your own bhagti and gaining some detachment and peace of mind that way. K.
  11. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Some of the sharda pooran paaths I have come across ask one to do the sadhanas near a well or river. Anyone know why this is? Is this something that can be overcome, perhaps by having a pot of spring water next to you in your room? Would one drink the water afterwards? Ta, K.
  12. kdsingh80: He mentions the source of his information near the begiining of his account: No doubt the "two Hindoos of considerable knowledge" added a little embellishment of their own when they wrote their abridged translation. Too bad the author did not mention the name of the original book from which he drew his account. K.
  13. I think too much ganja has made the brother paranoid. K.
  14. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Hadn't seen this before, thought I'd share this very interesting katha by Maskin Ji on the meaning of the words Kal, Akal, Mahakal in Sri Dasam Granth Ji. Part 1 of 7: K.
  15. The sentence for murder of your own child is lighter (if the judge gives him one at all) than any other kind of murder. How clear do I have to make it for you before it gets through your thick head? Has banging your head against the floor 5 times a day in the direction of a metorite damaged your brain to that extent? LOL, keep on telling us how advanced and civilised Islamic regimes are. It is apparent to anyone that Islamic regimes are the mose barbaric, cruel, retrograde and savage of all because their laws are based on the whims of a 7th century bedouin megalomaniacal paedophile who mistook his schizophrenic fantasies for angelic communication. Guess what? Just because some Arab warlord desperate for women and booty to fulfil his base desires tells some gullible camel herders that some lunar war god has told him that his crimes are sanctioned by divine writ doesn't make it divine law. K.
  16. What would you grow in windowsill pots (apart from spices, whch I already do)? I live in a top floor apartment, so serious gardening is pretty much out of the question. Also, would the potato in the bag trick also work with sweet potatoes? K.
  17. Balbir "Singh" is just another wannabe cult leader, I don't know why any of you are even responding to his ridiculous questions. Of course he will say all our kathavachaks (preachers as he calls them) are wrong, all of our history is wrong, even our Gurmantar is wrong, because he wants to replace it with his own mental ravings and verbal diarrhoea. And, of course, only Balbir Singh has the "real" Gurmantar because he is really, really special (at least in his own confused and lonely mind). Seriously, just ignore the fool. The questions he poses every now and again are not really questions (he will eventually answer them himself according to his own manmati bullshit), but bait on which to hook his future chelay. K.
  18. The father who kills his child receives a light sentence. LOL, you are repeating exactly what I have said. The following paragraph from unicef says the same thing: http://www.unicef.org/events/yokohama/backgound8.html Nope, Iranian Islamic society is retrograde and the government is complicit in Human Rights violations and the silencing of Human Rights activists. See here: http://www.iranhumanrights.org/2010/10/lddhi-campaign-seifzadeh/ and here: http://mehr.org/index_english.htm K.
  19. They are following the example of Mohammed so it's kosher - or is that halal? http://www.torontosun.com/news/canada/2009/12/29/12289696-sun.html A seven-year-old Pakistani girl and her family have been given asylum in Canada after reports the child was raped and left to die when her Christian father refused to convert to Islam. The identities of Baby Neeha and her family are being protected by immigration officials, said human rights lawyer Chantal Desloges and One Free World International, a church that was instrumental in getting the family here. The family arrived in Canada on Dec. 12 after a three-year battle by organizers to spirit them out of danger in Pakistan. They are living in the Mississauga area and will be visited next month by Immigration Minister Jason Kenney, who was so touched by the family's plight that he doled out a ministerial permit, of which he has only issued two. Church founder Rev. Majed El Shafie said the family of seven have been hiding from extremists in Pakistan for about three years. Baby Neeha, at the age of 21/2, was raped by the son of her father's employer and left to die by the roadside, he said. No one was arrested for the crime. "These horrific events took place because her father, who was Christian, refused to give in to pressure from his Muslim employer to convert to Islam," El Shafie said. The family went underground in Pakistan to hide from Muslim extremists who were seeking revenge for their non-conversion, he said. "The family has lived for years in hiding and in constant fear of being discovered by the employer's family or Islamic extremists," El Shafie said. "We are thrilled that she's finally in Canada." Organizers said the case touched Kenney who decided to help the family. "This case truly broke his heart and he (Kenney) considers himself lucky to have it within his powers to intervene," Kenney's spokesman Alykhan Velshi said yesterday. "Fortunately, they are now safely in Canada." Kenney found out about the family's plight six months ago, Velshi said. "He personally issued a special ministerial permit," he said. "There were significant difficulties in getting them out of Pakistan." The family can now apply for permanent residency on humanitarian and compassionate grounds, Velshi said.
  20. This is much more common in sullah societies and is even part of their religious laws. There were 50 honour killings in Iran in 2008: http://iranhr.net/spip.php?article803 From the article: According to the paragraph 220 of the Iranian penal law, if a father or grandfather (on father’s side) kill his child or grandchild, he will not be convicted and punished for murder. The rest of Iran's Islamic Penal Code is available here: http://mehr.org/Islamic_Penal_Code_of_Iran.pdf The difference is that honour killings are justified in Islam and are part and parcel of that cult. The justification for honour killings (e.g., the above article in Iranian Islamic penal law) comes from this hadith: K.
  21. Firstly, here is the UK Law on private slaughter of livestock: http://www.food.gov.uk/multimedia/pdfs/privatekillguidance2006.pdf The main point to note is that slaughtering livestock in non-licensed premises is not unlawful as long as it is not for sale. It is, however, unlawful to kill livestock in unlicensed premises with the intent to distribute to a third party if the livestock is ovine (sheep), bovine (cow), and caprine (goat). This means that you can slaughter an sheep, goat or cow yourself for your own consumption, but it cannot be shared with others (even if your own family). (Personally, I think this is stupid, and don't see why a group of Singhs should not be able to do the seva of jhatka, gutting and cleaning of the animal and then eat the animal.) You can, however, slaughter chickens, rabbits, farmed game and porcine species (pigs), and share those with a third party member or members of your community as long as you do not sell it. If you want to open a jhatka slaughterhouse, you have to apply for a licence and convince the State Veterinary Service that jhatka is an immediate kill and in accordance with the Welfare of Animals (Slaughter or Killing) 1995 Regulations . I would not be surprised feel if the objections to jtaka slaughterhouses were loudest from our own community though, so the person wanting to open such a business with the intent to do a seva would run the risk of becoming a regular butcher selling to people who do not care where their meat comes from. K.
  22. I know plenty of Sikhs who will eat meat as long as it is not kuttha/halaal as this is the most commonly folowed rehat around meat (e.g., Akal Takht Maryada). Personally I think it's much better if you hunt your meat yourself, or at least acquire and kill it, but I recognise that not everyone thinks that way. You raise some good points about having daya toward animals, but with due respect, this should be a given for any Sikh and is kind of OT. Even if you believe that writing letters, or perfoming any sort of action, to combat the spread of kuttha meat into the food chain is pointless, I'd encourage you to do it anyway. Who knows, you might be surprised by the power of your pen. :-) K.
  23. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! This article highlights the altogether common collusion of an Islamic state in perpetrating Islamic terrorism abroad. K. -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/pakistan/8050866/Interpol-issues-Pakistan-army-arrest-warrants-over-Mumbai-attacks.html Interpol has issued warrants for the arrest of two serving officers in the Pakistan army for alleged involvement in the 2008 terror attacks on Mumbai, investigators said on Friday. A third military figure, a retired Pakistan Army Major was also named as a suspect along with an al-Qaeda-linked commander and a leader of the Pakistan-based terrorist group, Lashkar e Taiba (LeT), which carried out the Mumbai attacks in which 166 were killed. By asking Interpol to issue warrants against two apparently senior Pakistan Army officers, India has intensified its campaign against Islamabad and strengthened its claim that some elements within Pakistan's security forces supported the Mumbai attacks. The development follows an admission by the former military ruler General Musharraf earlier this week that Pakistan had raised terrorist groups to attack India because of its refusal to negotiate over the dispute on the future of Kashmir. Those named in the warrants include Muhammad Ilyas Kashmiri, a militant commander believed to be close to al Qaeda, Sajid Majid, a senior LeT figure also known as Sajid Mir, Major Syed Abdur Rehman, a retired Pakistan Army officer, and two serving officers named as Major Sameer Ali and Major Iqbal. The officers are alleged to serve in Pakistan's ISI intelligence agency and were named by the LeT operative David Headley, who was arrested in Chicago last year as he was about to travel to Pakistan. Headley, the son of an American mother and a Pakistani diplomat, was raised in Pakistan and educated at a military school. During interrogation he revealed he had carried out reconnaissance missions for the Mumbai terrorist attack and claimed that the two officers were his handlers. Headley said both men spoke English, Hindi and Urdu, and alleged that Major Iqbal gave him $25,000 in cash in 2006 to visit India. India's Ministry of External Affairs and its Ministry for Home Affairs, which is responsible for counter-terrorism, declined to comment on the Interpol notices yesterday. But B. Raman, a retired senior Indian intelligence officer, said it was unlikely the warrant would have been issued without corroboration for Headley's claims. Indian investigators are alleged to have found evidence in an investigation into a man suspected of being an ISI agent in Uttar Pradesh. Waqas Ahmad, who was arrested near Kanpur last year, was suspected of reporting back to the same telephone number in Pakistan that Headley said he had used to speak to his alleged handlers -- three serving Pakistan officers. B Raman however said it was highly unlikely the officers would ever be identified or arrested. "No one knows if these are their real names, it's on the basis of what Headley said," he said.
  24. LOL, they are like the chav equivalent of sullay - they attack a weaker target in large numbers, then run away to a safe distance and gesticulate like overgrown baboons when they encounter a little resistance. K.
