If even now, you're failing to acknowledge how a certain caste has infiltrated all major Sikh institutes and have been playing havoc with the principle of egalitarianism that is central to the idea of Sikh society - it says it all.....  But then maybe I shouldn't really be surprised because you've never once addressed the issue in all these years. You are part of the problem, just like a white denying racism has any serious impact on british society.
You've completely turned a blind eye to my comments about how an agriculture dependent economy has been, and will in all likely cases will continue to be a dead end for Panjab. If anything things will get even worse in this department if things like BRICS happen, because India will probably be able to get cheap grains and whatnot from elsewhere. On top of the matter of a falling water table and increasingly unpredictable weather. It's not complicated. Plus you fail to address the fact that very few people (including people from farming families) actually want to do farming. This is no mysterious thing, even the children of farmers in the west have this problem.  It's laughable how you've failed to comprehend my point about wider global geo-political changes having the potential to change the game in Panjab. That was the whole point of the big fish in small ponds suddenly finding themselves in an ocean with a whole bunch of new things to contend with.

It's funny because I learnt that 'rectal parasite' phrase from you years ago. At that point you were making the very point that we can't continue like this. You're one to talk about having an island monkey way of thinking - you're not even capable of conversing with the people you try and champion in their own native tongue. So it's no wonder your ideas are so 'out there'. You really haven't mixed with apnay - and if you did, what did you do, speak broken english with them? I'm not saying this to have a dig, but in all sincerity, how can you be influenced by, and absorb your cultural heritage (Sikh one NOT Panjabi)  without being able to communicate with people or read/access texts which help you imbibe the culture? None of us are perfect, but that gaping vacuum puts you in danger of all manner of miscomprehensions. That's doubled because a large number of people you encounter don't know much themselves.

Now we see your toffo nature coming out. I'm better than you and more intelligent.....course you are........
I've had intelligent exchanges with you in the past. But i don't think we are going to progress until we confront and defeat the current norm of disgraceful inequality amongst Sikhs. We all know who the main culprits are in terms of trying to position themselves as some high caste, superior beings in the panth. I've been warning about the consequences of this for well over a decade - and look!!! Exactly what I was trying to warn about has come to be - we have people leaving the panth because of discrimination and forming their own groups as well as conversions to other faiths because of it. Then we NOW have opportunistists jumping on the bandwagon too. People like yourself helped bring this about through underplaying the issue.

If we had a better culture than the normalised cut throat one in Panjab, we might be able to circumvent some of Delhi's moves against Sikhs. It's not just one way. Plenty of our own are willing instruments in what's going on.
What a load of gibberish. I've tried hard to uncover precolonial Sikhi over the years. Are you going to deny that? You've lost the plot. If anything I was at the forefront of trying to highlight the 'jedi mind trick' done on apnay's psyches during colonialism. To your credit, you did recognise this to some extent. But you are in a tiny minority. But things are slowly slowly (hopefully changing). It might take a few generations the way some of our lot are so slow (and frankly apathetic).
That just reinforces what I'm saying: a man who primarily wrote caste based, 'hard man' songs turns out to be the most popular singer in modern times - it just perfectly reflects what I'm saying about where the majority of this crowd's head is at!

I'm not an economist - neither are you. None of us can accurately predict the future. But it looks like big changes are coming whether we like it or not. You STILL fail to address the issue that most people in Panjab don't want to work in the agricultural industry. And on top of that, a diverse, modern economy is a smart move.
I did that collage to make a valid point about where we are and how I feel about it in a humorous way that even an unlettered imbecile could understand.  And it's not just bhangra, it's a whole pendu mindset that is also part and parcel of that, that is holding us back. I don't watch Panjabi music videos btw. I don't watch the films either. You can just do a 5 second search and be flooded with evidence of where apnay's heads are at in this respect.

I think the idea of Sikh autonomy and sovereignty isn't far from many Sikhs minds. That being said, seeing as how despite decades, there's been no progress or development outside of using the word Khalistan as a slogan to pee off Delhi isn't exactly inspiring now is it. It wasn't originally a 'dumb jutt idea' but you wouldn't know, because you probably wasn't even born when all the stuff was originally happening. But yes, subsequently, 'dumb jutts' under the guise of the police did their fair share of attacking pro-independence Sikhs to the point of sadistic torture and murder.
If things were difficult to establish K'stan in the 80s, the situation is stacked against Sikhs even more now. India was just a backwards, third world, back water previously, but it's now become economically and  strategically important (if not central) to big plans. It doesn't make me a shill to have noticed and highlighted the undeniable progress India has made in the last few decades. They have their own space program, they send satellites into space for europeans, their economy is going in the right direction - and any amount of sour grapes on people like your part, doesn't make any difference to that. I know the place is still a backwards sh1thole, but they at least are trying to develop, unlike our rustics. Fact is, a certain type of moron (are you one?) is likely to push apnay into another one-sided genocide because of their hubris and inability to grasp changes and realities. What's your big idea? Get weapons off people who've mass groomed and raped apneean, go 'bwwwaaaaahhhhh!!!' and try and take on an infinitely better armed foe, who could now afford and easily use the latest surveillance tech and have umpteen allies?
The only good position we are in now, is that on the cusp of another potential world war (if it hasn't started already), we don't have hundreds of thousands of peasants press-ganged and ready to leave Panjab to do someone else's dirty work -  for a change...........

And we should squarely face the question - do jutts really want a state based upon Sikh theocracy or is it that they just want to do better financially/economically - hiding behind dharam is a cheap shot no one is really falling for, especially when people can obviously see where the majority of the jutt communities proclivities and passions lie:

See my last point above, but again, that some prominent person (and he was quite well respected in the past) still came out with what he did in this day and age is scary. I hope you are right that it is just a one off hark back to our enslaved days. In contrast, think whatever you want about him, Modi has shown a prudence in the face of a potential ww3 that our lot could learn from. I don't know about the rumours btw.

It's you that doesn't get what I'm saying. I'm not saying I can predict what is coming, but it's undeniable that big global changes aren't unlikely to happen, and that our panth is slap bang in middle of the players trying to change the global game.  You might think you're big fish in a small pond, but the pond just grew into an ocean now.

All of these years of us bouncing ideas off each other - what the f**k makes you think I've gone this route????? Just because I'm pushing that internal-egalitarian principle Sikh society has unquestionably been based upon, doesn't make me a lefty. Where's your head at?
Just out of bafflement: how is it that you think I confirm their prejudices?

Yeah, and we need to avoid a slaughter which could easily be bought about, and have umpteen parties vying for it if not involved (directly and indirectly). I grew up under the shadow of the last andolan - some of us don't seem to be able to learn tactical lessons from that. And plainly put, I don't want to see another SIkh bloodbath - we need to focus on development and modernisation. Not some growth of the current feudal, rural shyte we have going on.
    What like this shyte?

You can live in denial about it, but my point about apnay making pendu fools of themselves through jutt bhangra culture is as valid as ever. Just because the idiocy comes from close to home, don't be in denial about it mate.
And how the eff are we going to get to any modern development until the norm of feudal fighting over acres has ended anyway. I don't think you really know apnay to be honest.

The only thing I will say is that you don't need to be some clairvoyant to see that war is on the cards. India has many sullay enemies (esp. paks), chinnay ones, jealous european ones, people internally not happy with things - most of us thought that the taliban was only taking a break from the kashmir campaigns after the us attacked their country, and that it was only ever a lull. I'm sure right now, people in afghanistan would be split, some wanting to genuinely form economic ties with india, some wanting to continue with the jihadi ways.
Indians are likely to f**k up by trusting outsiders like europeans were trusted previously, allowing them to embed themselves, implant and foster gaddari and then derail things. But then our lot are 1000 times behind them even.
Indians are politically everywhere now, when they don't need to be. Turkey was a good example, india helped with the earthquakes as 'dosts' but you can't trust these sullay, and even 'moderate' turks sided with paks push come to shove. But then india is making global moves, and whatever we might think of them, they have been making some smart moves, unlike our lot who seem trapped in  some bhangra-paaing, feudal level, backwards, provincial thinking.

I think you are inflating your ego again, we all saw how a certain big mouth jaat were running around like chickens when a few gujjars started to flex it.

But I do think that indians as a whole now are possibly going through some egomaniac thing because they are finally getting world recognition through modi's strategies. You are right in that they haven't been battle tested at all. But then our lot aren't what they used to be either by the looks of it. We should also maybe acknowledge that the old PM Manmohan SIngh's policies might have come to fruition now, and that some of the things we are seeing today are the result of this.
Apnay rural Panjabis seem like petty nobodies in the face of all this right now.

And the majority of extra judicial murders of 'kharkus' and innocents were done by juts of Sikh backgrounds, so what's your point?

If you have any young kids in the family (with chewing teeth!), it doesn't hurt to give them 4/5 skinned badaams a day (if they are not allergic). Traditionally (Ayurveda I guess) they are really good for brain development (Omega oils I think). They are also rich in protein which help muscle growth. Many give young ones skinned badaams in the run up to exams to assist memory recall. This needs to be done overtime and NOT considered some sort of overnight magic pill - this is because the right nutrients need to be built to sufficient levels over time.

As various posted articles say: Soak them overnight and you can remove the skin easily by 'pinching' them out.

They are garam with or without skin, (probably slightly less without skin. When you see the texture of the dried removed skins, you'll see that the digestive system would have to go into overdrive to absorb them!

I remember my mum giving us hot milk with a spoon full of almond oil which I thought was the height of grossness back then! lol

Personally I think using actual badaams is better than using the modern processed 'tayal' (oil) myself.

I think vegees could do with extra to make up for protein/omega oil shortages. But be warned too much will give you the usual side effects of 'garam' foods! i.e. the runs.

I don't know what we are arguing about now? I agree with your analysis of the subcontinents 'weak links'. I don't thinks it is complex or nuanced at all.
Maybe the simple truth is that we have more chaaploose, sycophantic opportunists, ready to subordinate themselves to outsiders for their and their families prosperity, than those who have a truly sovereign mindset and revolt at the idea of servitude. Juts (whether they like it or not) were specifically identified by the brits as being particularly docile and predispositioned for subordinate positions (as well as being of lower intelligence),  hence their 'favoured' position during colonialism.
If you look at what has been happening in afghanistan over the last few decades, look at how persistently and ruthlessly the taliban there annihilated perceived collaborators (i.e. blowing people up who were looking to join the coalitions police force and army at the expense of their own fighters). Also how they infiltrated those orgs as well. Probably played a big part in their eventual military success. Our lot had (for example) our own lot being prison guards for their very own freedom fighters - like Bhagat Singh.

No it isn't. We've been infiltrated by people who have more of a sense of loyalty to their caste and nonSikh culture over the welfare of the panth. But we're working on that. Plus those people you speak of are fully supported and covered up by a corrupt legal system and successive governments.
PS - I don't want to continue the discussion but you keep bringing up related matters. This is a Sikh forum, so you shouldn't be surprised if some Sikhs give you a response from their perspective.

Yeah, I think build it up slowly or it can backfire.
Keep to 15 minutes until it gets stable. You'll intuitively know when to increase it. I increase it by 5 minutes per change. Don't be in any rush. Bani even says, just one moment with correct focus is life changing. It's not about quantity, but quality in my opinion.
Do 15 minutes for a few weeks and see how you get on. In the early stages, all manner of deep seated stuff from your karams and subconscious may come flying out. Let that settle down a bit.

Yes bruv, don't stray off the reservation too much. It's great to learn about other perspectives and experiences from other traditions, but I do believe we are on surer ground when we stick to frameworks of our own panth (way). Keep our Guru Sahiban's (esp. dasmesh pita for me) energy as a focal point. They balanced the spiritual with hardcore dealing with the worldly.
    We love you brother.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating an 'ostrich stance' towards such things. And generally I believe that people should read the broader literature on a topic. If people like me (personally) are a little guarded, it is for good reasons.

Firstly I believe that certain people plainly don't seem to have the intellectual faculties to make discerning judgments about that which they read. And when these people read biased material they are prey to fall into the agenda on offer. The dimwitted wouldn't grasp that Anglo literature in itself is heavily loaded and consciously designed to catch out the docile - just look at how many apnay buy into Aryan or Scythian theories of their origins as a plain example we could relate to Sikhs of today and yesterday.

Lately I've met a few very educated western 'historians' who've been educated to very high standards at top academic institutes. I was genuinely shocked at their outright ignorance of alternative worldviews to Anglocentric ones (i.e. Saidian Orientalism or CRT - Critical Race Theory), which speaks VOLUMES.

It's important to read books by the 'enemy', but at the same time we need to acknowledge the truth that the gullible can easily become manipulated by clever (and even not so clever) strategies employed by this very enemy to, in effect, mould and shape the readers mind for their own purpose. Our people have and do suffer from this in no small way.
