  1. Say you have a disease and eventually you conquer that disease inside of you. Now does that disease still stay with you and needs to be conrolled or is it completely gone? I say the latter because if it was the former then you really have conquered nothing as it still in you. Remember sexual instinct is not apart of the envirnoment, but inborn, it's not the same as sexual desire. Also Gurbani say to destroy sexual desire. Conquer also means to overcome, so why is there a need to control sexual instinct as it has been conquered(it can't attack you again). Control would been to keep s
  2. shaheediyan, I agree become master of the desire. But if you read the shabad from Sri Sukhmani Sahib ji then it goes further and says conquer sexual instinct, which is the cause of, in this case sexual desire. So Guru Sahib is saying get to the root and master it. Once this sexual instinct(bound to this world) is conquered, doesn't that mean that energy has transformed into something that is permanent and does not rest in a person as sexual instinct anymore? To call sexual instinct or sexual desire as not wrong would be a mistake because we are told to conquer it. It's like conquering t
  3. Reading Sri Sukhmani Sahib ji, this is what I came across: This Shabad is by Guru Arjan Dev Ji in Raag Gauree on Pannaa 274 AstpdI ] asattapadhee || Ashtapadee: imiQAw nwhI rsnw prs ] mithhiaa naahee rasanaa paras || One whose tongue does not touch falsehood; mn mih pRIiq inrMjn drs ] man mehi preeth nira(n)jan dharas || whose mind is filled with love for the Blessed Vision of the Pure Lord, pr iqRA rUpu n pyKY nyqR ] par thria roop n paekhai naethr || whose eyes do not gaze upon the beauty of others' wives, swD kI t
  4. Doesn't the words of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji say it all. He asked for 5 heads, not five bakra. Unless you want to call Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji a hypocrite and a deciever, then the blood on the sword did come from a bakra. Guru Sahib wouldn't ask for heads and then do something different in the tambu.
  5. The 3HO did not do it out of no Singhs being around, but out of egotisical behaviour. They thought that by them putting in Kaurs they will break a ritual the Khalsa Panth has created with only Singhs. They failed to see the reason why only Singhs are allowed. Above you say Khalsa is above gender thinking, then why did Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji(the master of Khalsa) give us two separate last names? Why not just one last name? If it was just about getting rid of caste. That's correct many Jatha say many things, but at the end of the day its about what did Sri Guru G
  6. I'm all for it, but one last word. You stated before that the limit stops at kurahits in Maryada, since the Kurahits come after the Amrit Sanskar that would make the prescribed order and who gives Amrit even a bigger kurahit if changed and not followed.
  7. Putting, bibi in for Punj Pyare is not a small exception. This is altering the Amrit Sanskar, it can't be compared to taking a Kirpan off. Personally I wouldn't take Amrit from women. There is a good reason for taking the Kirpan off for a few hours. Removing kirpan, shaving hair, are on a personal level and that Sikhs is not making a decision out of pride or stubborness. When you talk about woman being in Punj Pyare then you are talking about a bigger issue that invovles the whole Panth and the altering the foundation of Amrit Sanskar. You cannot compare the two and say they are the sa
  8. Maryada is the same, it is the persons fault for not following it. We know the results of not following Maryada, I don't have to spell them out here. So whose fault is this? The people who do it. Who said being a Sikh is going to be easy. Singh, your justifying one wrong doing with another. This does not cancel them out. I know you know that, but for the rest it has to be stated. Jatha battles and other things along these line is tamasha, but just to end this on a good note, if we as a Panth start following the Maryada left for us then everything will be Anand.
  9. Singh, you bring up a great point, but one wrong does not make another wrong right. Look at the state of the Khalsa Panth. It's because of us not following Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji that we break and fall. If Maryada is followed then there is no problem. Jatha battle, lets leave this alone. Did Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji give these guys different intructions on how to take Amrit?
  10. The thing about Sants, which I believe you would agree with me here is that the True Sant would not go against or change Guru Sahibs Hukams like Amrit Sankar. The disciple doesn't become brighter than Guru Sahib no matter their state. Even Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji took Amrit the same way he administered it to the Punj Pyare. I believe this speaks volumes and the depth of this has to be understood. And then the fact that no woman even afterwards was put in the Punj Pyare.
  11. Singh, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji told us to take Amrit from the Punj Pyare and prescribed a certain way then why does it matter if a different Panth is doing something else. The Khalsa Panth will follow Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji.
  12. It wouldn't be difficult to fly one Singh in. You probably can bring up even more if ups, but I believe they become irrevelant, since Sikhs are stricted on following Guru Sahib to the last letter.
  13. This is the common mistake people make when presenting this no white and black enthicty reason. When you get into blacks and whites or yellow and light browns then you are taking a black man and a brown man and discriminationg based on color. This would be a problem because it is going back to the caste system. When you look at Guru Sahib decision that day, you can see Guru Sahib gave the sangat two last names. Singh and Kaur. Men and women were given different names. This clearly shows Guru Sahib new men and women are different from each other, if it's not the case then he would have g
  14. I second this and we can't ignore the fact Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji, also kept gender separate by giving Singh to the male and Kaur to the female. Brahmgyanis are no exception here either, they are still in that physical form as male or woman. It's like we can't ignore the fact the Ten Gurus took the form as male. Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji had no problem distuigishing from male and female and neither should his Sikh. Also let's not forget, there were Brahmgyani woman around at the time of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji's, but Guru Sahib never, put in a woman himself.
  15. For me this question is hard to answer and I have heard alot of explanation on what people think, but one of the most convincing answers I got was from Sant Jarnail SIngh ji Khalsa. His answer was so simple and straight forward. Well here is the video and it would be great if members here would give there thoughts on what Sant ji is saying and whether women should be allowed in the Panj Pyare.
