Guru Gobindsingh ji 's Khalsa in the beginning was mainly laymen..Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's Marathas were the laymen..Maharana Pratap's supporters were laymen too ..the Bhils had supported Maharana ji .. The so called Kshatris were either out of war or compromising with the invaders ..this is the very basic reason why the Khalsa has a Kshatri sarooop...Guru Maharaj created the Kshatris out of common men..made them Singhs..

I would like to correct something here ..Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj did have soldiers from different castes and muslims too..it wasnt about 'allowing' ..he was supported by the laymen who were farmers , barbers and so on...the other warrior clans did not support him initially but joined in later. ..there are 52 communities which all together came under the 'Maratha' umbrella..and yes ..they were from outside Maharashtra too..there were Marwaris and Bhati Rajputs which i know of since my ancestors were Bhati...a group of Bhati Rajputs had come to join him and amongst those who have now amalgamated in the Maratha society have the surname Bhate...THese 52 communites covered all the castes and various tribes. I was born in Maharashtra and have a special bond with the history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj ..just like dhadi varan there are powade sung in Maharashtra ..warrior ballads ..which i been listening to and they do have a lot of in depth content.

It is not prohibited , however it is believed that renouncing does not lead to Brahmgyaan. THe Bani of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib and Sri Dasam Granth Sahib has verses which indicate that many have taken sanyas and renouncedthe world however have not been able to realize Parmatma.

but if you look at the term logically an atheist does not believe in God which means he 'believes' that there is no God. There is a belief present in the person that there is no God . So in a way atheism in itself is a like religion or a cult which many perhaps follow when he or she is in the teenage or adolescent years. I have passed a mixed phase so i too can relate with it .

Bro the way the agitations go ..there is bound to be violence, the last beadbi issue...some planning was done to start the issue and splinter groups too advantaged and hijacked the stage from mainstream..they got violent when the authorities of the SGPC came to meet them. Even when you choose Akaali Dal for more than 2 terms which is a Sikh religious political party you crib over the same issues. Even during beadbi issues last year the dal khalsa splinter groups hijacked the stage, they hit people from Akali dal who had come to meet the people and even threw away their turbans. I fall in to that category, i really dont know if Waheguru would meet me and why would He meet me . All i know is meditating raises the power to concentrate and get clarity which reduces confusion. The focused mind does not go astray and has a strong 'inner voice' to guide. I have liked the feeling of being engrossed in simran, not that i am regularly doing simran. Again, i cannot say how engrossed i was. I have no such feelings for mukti or Nirvan. Since i cannot visualize myself as a 'mukt'.
