  1. Kaur comes from Kunwar which actually means prince and Rajput ladies generally had Kunwar attached to their names in the past is what i recall of mentioning . It was giving a masculine form to the females from their tribe and they too were trained in Shastarvidiya and horse riding .
  2. As long as one school of thought does not impose their principles on the other it is all fine. The moment they start behave as modern Sikhs are others are behaving these days then Gian will recede. There is no such hard and fast rule that only meditation will help achieve enlightenment. Kahaa Bhayo Jo Doau Lochana Mooanda Kai Baitthi Rahiaoa Baka Dhiaana Lagaaeiaoa ॥ कहा भयो जो दोउ लोचन मूंद कै बैठि रहिओ बक धिआन लगाइओ ॥ Of what use it is if one sits and meditates like a crane with his eyes closed.
  3. Guru Sahib covered Mahabharat's most important portion which is - The Gita Guru Sahib's composition is known as The Gobind Gita . https://www.scribd.com/doc/31560652/Gobind-Gita http://tisarpanth.blogspot.in/2013/02/sri-bhagwat-geeta-of-guru-gobind-singh.html
  4. Meeting the Gurus ? THe only oral reference i heard was from a recording on youtube of Baba Balli Singh Nihang. You can hear him out. Dunno if this is an actual physical meeting . Hanuman Natak Bani was very dear to Guru Gobindsingh ji and Sahib used to keep a small copy in the kamarkaasa is what we get to hear . this is
  5. haan ji pehen ji jarrur ...there is one in Rishikesh that i know off my head and i happened to have darsan of one of the Sants there. I was foolish enough to have not interacted with haume in my head that i dont need any Dehdhaari Babas to teach me . http://www.nirmalashram.com/history.php
  6. acha? i seen some demos didnt know there were tutorials , i have learnt some stick fencing years back and a few moves of sword fencing .
  7. Absolutely ! and this is a evolving process, it will never stop everyone has a right to think in their own way and define and redefine Gurbani, as long as one does not harm any human being or play with emotions .
  8. Nahi yaar i did wish to learn but the only people who teach in our city are from AKJ which in no way will teach sehajdhaaris.
  9. Shastars are my interest and since the last few years i managed to learn a little about them .With Gurukirpa i have had some virtual sangat and met the DalPanth during Dussehra at Hazur Sahib , last 2 years i haven't been able to go ..i attended Dussehra Halla every year from 2010-2014
  10. veere you are not alone my state is similar to you ..unless we push ourselves we wont get returns ..its like when we start school we cry and dont even want to go to school but the regime is forced upon us and then we go on till we get the degree in our hands ..no matter how many sants you visit but the final decision is in our hands ..i am learning to force myself at certain times i keep falling too...i am not saying that its futile to visit Sants ..its good ..you will certainly learn a lot and they would motivate you ..Giani Inderjeet singh Nihang based in Raqba is a buzurg Nihang singh ji with lots of Gian ..there are others with high awastha ..like Giani Thakur singh ji too i think he is based in Ludhiana ..i know very little about Sants though
  11. i am still to understand why is celibacy being hyped ? it is a natural process, if hte person is getting involved in the sadhana he wants to focus on his kriya rather than pleasure and wants to cultivate his vigour for reaching higher consciousness ...many have gone to advanced stages and twice as many would have failed ..if your body is not able to hold the energy no matter what you do at the slightest opportunity you would give in . even Rishis were not spared. I feel it comes from inside ..to enforce externally will not help.
  12. Akaal ji..they do exist atleast the Nirmala sampradaay i believe have Dharamshalas still active ..Let me find out more for you, you can remind me if i forget to get back to you ..the South too has Bhagwati Worship ...why only south india even Europe has had Goddesses in the Pagan religions and of what i remember i was told by the Singh who got saheed Nihang JOdhbir singh of Switzerland they have a Goddess very similiar to Kali Mayi
  13. I been wearing and doing jaap using Metal Mala the vadde mannke available 12 in number ...Sarabloh is earth metal and should have a connection with Bir ras too ...years back i was a rash minded person, my relatives took me to a face reader..that guy on the first notice saw the iron kara in my hand and asked me to stop wearing it ..he told me that iron connects with Shani or Saturn and will affect your mind by making it angry ...that made me love my kara more since i thought if i was born a man there was no need for any shaant ras
  14. addin to this there are malas made of bone and skull fragments too which are used in tantra for attaining certain siddhis
  15. Ram katha jug jug atal. Sab koi bhakhat net Suragbas Raghuver kara. Sagri puri samet Jo en Katha sune aur gaave. Dukh pap tah nikat na aave - Guru Gobind Singh ji
  16. Akaal ! As my ancestors were Rajputs i am familiar with this culture, the Shastars are worshipped by men and women alike . Amongst the Kshatriya class the women too participate in Shastar pooja and there are cultural dances these days held in public too wherein the women too show their prowess . Thiis is also visible in the tribal culture where dance is an important part of many rituals . Also, in the olden days most Rajputs would worship the Sword as Bhawaani or Chandi and not the idol. I cam across a royal family of Gujarat who still worship just the sword. I remember my dad staring at me with anger when i would unsheath my Sri Sahib with friends around to do a show off . He had explained me time and again to not draw the Sri Sahib without a reason and if drawn to not place it back without offering blood. The Khanda is a very ancient shape of the Sword and has been revered since ages. The Khanda is also address as Bapuji and in Guru Gobindsingh ji 's Chandi di Vaar Bani this is mentioned as Khanda Prithamai Saajke ..I am giving you this reference although it is not related to the question but it proves false the claim of the neo sikhism believers that there is no connection with anything . Many ancient temples have the Khanda carved in caves held by the Chandi. I am pretty sure the video you have seen is posted by the Rajputs of Gujarat or Rajasthan. You can share the link here if you wish.

  18. The worst thing that will happen is it will accumulate the dirt of your skin , if you have ever noticed even after bathing when you rub your skin applying pressure it leaves some amount of dirt and that will accumulate in the engraving . I dont think it is a good idea to have the engraving inside which will rub with the skin.
  19. so now what ? u know your questions and you know your answers ...then why u need to ask people and then counter them ? when you know what Gurbani teaches be happy with that. God Bless ..Akaaal !
  20. when this concept of seeing the husband as Parmeswar was mentioned , it was due to the women being the weakest in the society and mostly were uneducated . The basic classification was either a woman was a obedient housewife or someone with vices and the issues faced would be that such women would be the reason of conflict amongst the family members. I dont know how far you ever connected to the countryside of any region in India. The farmer classes who choose brides , have you ever heard the mothers of the would -be bridegrooms ? the virtues they look in the would be daughter - in - law ? They need someone hardworking and obedient , always on their toes to serve the family members. In reference to the maryada , it could be that the men would be either away due to war or for other work . It could be that women might fall prey to other men around. Considering their husbands as God - like infuses respect and the feeling to be belonging to that particular person. This is a 'indology' concept , very much evident in India . Most customs might have scientific reasons however it was easier to infuse Dharam with it and explain it . To understand this , you would have to interact with people who still believe so . Understand one thing that not everything falls in the brackets of Logic. This is also very much evident in the terms of people explaining reasons to keep 'Kes' . This tradition is not new and has been followed all over the world however it cannot be explained in 'logical' terms. Every point will be countered with another logical reason.
