  1. I think the keski would be a good thing as then we wouldnt be pointed out for crossing the equal rights point of view. Men and women should have the same rights within reason.
  2. I agree with that, kes is a kakkar and that you should respect it by covering it. But keski on its own is not a kakkar, if we start changing things then people may just start wearing a keski without thinking that keeping all bodily hair is the most important and most fundamental kakkar of all (kes). 5 k's: (no order of importance, just from top of my head). kes - all bodily hair karra - braclet kachera - sikh underwear, similar to boxer shorts which is tied at the front in a knot kanga - small, short comb which is made out of wood kirpan - dagger worn at the waste with a gathra (a cloth band to hold the kirpan) rather than a tiny one worn around the neck as a fashion symbol which some people think, is ok.
  3. The nihangs are probably true to the word sikh as u could get, they wear the bana, they keep shashtars with them at all times and they read the bani with full vigour!! Even though I might not agree with everything they do... 1) the drinking of maha parshad as I concider it as a form of intoxicant. and 2) the killing of animals in the name of God. Also my belief in the Dasam Granth is of very high importance, as bani's such as Jaap Sahib, Akaal Ustat, shabad hazare p10, etc,etc come from the dasam granth
  4. Well if i was you, i would go down with a chola and pyajama, but then when u are to enter the room where you are to take amrit. Then you go in without the pyajama. It is also a good idea to wear a new kachera as well. Well done, now u gonna enter the brotherhood of the khalsa !! All respect due to akaal purakh, u never know when he is to shower his blessings.

  6. The descriptions of the panj kakars are rite to the point, arnt we soooo lucky to be blessed with these wonderful gifts....... gifts that are unique to the Sikh faith!
  7. Having read the above, it reminded me of doing amrit shak a few years ago, going through it is something that you can't explain.....only that of true love, joy and happyness all at once! for the Guru!
  8. I want everyone to say, of what they want to achieve from this life. Is it to show a mark of history? or something that they might think is of the highest importance to them.
