  12. Guru Gobind Singh Ji was the khalsa. Thats why it is sed that if u have punj singh 2gether, Guru Gobind Singh Ji is with u. I guess he was sayin that the khalsa was higher than him
  13. There is NO ABSOLUTE concept of beauty, it lies in the eye of the beholder. Beauty values differ in every single culture Society and fashion defines the image of beauty and encourage ppl to want to look like that too wen a child is born, 1st ppl say how good he looks, his physical appearance. then as he grows up, he is made more aware of how he looks, by those around him. society puts alot of emphasis on the way we look, mans physical image. it puts value on things like eye colour, the some one looks (facial complexon), lips, cheekbones. Society presents ppl with ideals of beauty which they try and emulate. Therefore, ppl colour, highlight and accentuate their features with cosmetics, and further decorate their bodies with jewelry. People have been wearing jewlry from the earlies times. but really there is no value in wearing jewelry. The main reason ppl wear it is to stand out and gain appreciation from others. Even singhs, like they somehow feel inadequate if they havnt got a huge kirpan or a massive dumala. If there was some real satisfaction gained from wearing the jewels , then why do ppl not wear them while sleeping?ppl do not look at why they are doin things, reflection on their actions, and go thru alot of pain jus to feel accepted by others. Time , effort and money is spent for jus being appreciated and to hear a few words of praise. The two main motivating factors are ego boosting and lust. Acting like they are tryin to care for their bodies, ppl apply lotions, perfurmes, and cosmetics. They wanna look young and beautiful, so they apply creams to prevent wrinkles, and use foundation to hide marks in their faces (blemishes) The next logical step is mascara, eyeliner, eye shadow, to bring out the colour of their eyes, and blush for their cheekbones. next is lip liner, lipstick, lips, so attention is drawn to their lips Then after all that, to remove the makeup, they use more products. I have noticed that ppl will do nearly anything to be noticed by others, bt wot they dnt kno is that lipstick covers the natural moisture of lips, nail polish prevents nails from breathing. Many wear earrings eventho it means piercing skin and making holes in it. Then to make matters worse, they inflict more pain to themselves by plucking eyebrows, and pulling or colouring their facial hair. They hav fallen to society and think , "yeah everyones doin it, so it must be right". (p278 Guru Granth Sahib Ji) jo jaanai mai jobanava(n)th || One who deems himself to have the beauty of youth, so hovath bisattaa kaa ja(n)th || shall become a maggot in manure. http://www.sikhitothemax.com/page.asp?ShabadID=971 (p2 Guru Granth Sahib Ji) math vich rathan javaahar maanik jae eik gur kee sikh sunee || Within the mind are gems, jewels and rubies, if you listen to the Guru's Teachings, even once http://www.sikhitothemax.com/page.asp?ShabadID=6 (p1288 Guru Granth Sahib Ji) aaj maal roop jaath joban pa(n)jae t(h)ag || Royal power, wealth, beauty, social status and youth are the five thieves. http://www.sikhitothemax.com/page.asp?ShabadID=4672 (p700 Guru Granth Sahib Ji) mukath maal kanik laal heeraa man ra(n)jan kee maaeiaa || Pearl necklaces, gold, rubies and diamonds please the mind, but they are only Maya. haa haa karath bihaanee avadhhehi thaa mehi sa(n)thokh n paaeiaa ||2|| Possessing them, one passes his life in agony; he obtains no contentment from them. ||2|| http://www.sikhitothemax.com/page.asp?ShabadID=2654 (p279 Guru Granth Sahib Ji) anik bhog bikhiaa kae karai || He may enjoy all sorts of corrupt pleasures, neh thripathaavai khap khap marai || but he is still not satisfied; he indulges again and again, wearing himself out, until he dies http://www.sikhitothemax.com/page.asp?ShabadID=975 (p712 Guru Granth Sahib Ji) kar aabharan savaaree saejaa kaaman thhaatt banaaeiaa || The soul-bride puts on her ornaments, embellishes her bed, and fashions decorations. sa(n)g n paaeiou apunae bharathae paekh paekh dhukh paaeiaa ||2|| But if she does not obtain the company of her Husband Lord, the sight of these decorations only brings her pain. ||2|| http://www.sikhitothemax.com/page.asp?ShabadID=2726 Looks like these days that ppl lives his life for other ppl. Everything he does depends on what other ppl will think of him. The main factors for wearing makeup and jewelry is to be accepted by others, lust, and ego boosting, and this is the society we live in, where it is being encouraged from young age. Sorry if i offended anyone, Phul Chuk Maf
  14. doing pooja of the guru granth sahib ji is enuff for me
  15. if keertan wasnt meant to be sung in raags? then why is bani separated into them?? Each raag for a certain mood and a certain time?? I mean the gurus didnt just do it randomly, they did it coz thats how its meant to be done. Dont get me wrong i aint dissing anyones way of doin keertan, because at the end of the day it is a personal choice, all im saying is, take a look at bani and analyse it. Everything has a reason for being there. Oh and one other thing, raag mala, how is that sung?? Doesnt have a raag? and it doesnt really flow either like shabads do
  16. The same can be said for most jathebandis and sikhs on the whole. There are only a few that u can truley say understand and know wot gurmat sangeet is, and how to sing it.
  17. i think we shud stop looking at other ppl and other countries, and start realising that we are destroyin ourselves. arguing about pointless topics, and finding ways to blame everyone but ourselves. a shabad comes to mind maas maas kar moorakh jhagarrae giaan dhhiaan nehee jaanai || The fools argue about flesh and meat, but they know nothing about meditation and spiritual wisdom koun maas koun saag kehaavai kis mehi paap samaanae || What is called meat, and what is called green vegetables? What leads to sin? http://www.sikhitothemax.com/page.asp?ShabadID=4678
