  1. We call our Sikhs yet we are hateful towards other Sikhs ! Every day we do ardas for Sarbat de Bhale di and then we have paste a Sikh's face on a goat and slaughter it and feel good about it. Does that still give us the right to call ourselves Sikhs?

Regarding Kala Afgana, this man spent nearly 8 to 10 hours per day for nearly 10 years and analyzed the whole Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji and categorized so many critical topics and wrote those in the form of books. Each topic or sub-topic is supported by at least five (5) shabads from Gurbani and in some cases he has given a list of upto 200 more shabads from Gurbani. He did not do any Katha, he simply took Prof. Sahib Singh's analysis and compiled in a manner that is easier to understand. Because he challenged the so called Jathedars who are unable to perform their duties towards Sikhism under political pressures, he was thrown out of Sikhism. I too had the same negative feeling about him whenever his name was mentioned until I got hold of his book called Bipran ki Reet ton Sach da Marg, and then I could NOT stop reading until I was finished with all ten parts. I was pleasently shocked about the passion, dedication and love this man has for Sikhi yet he is being treated like a villan.

Once you read his books and then you look at the treatment he is being metted out, it is not difficult to understand why Sikhi principles and Sikh identity is fast disapperaing from this planet. You will start to feel a sense of remorse in yourself for letting so much hate grow inside yourself.

    Because Gurbani syas:

kal kaathee raajae kaasaaee dhharam pa(n)kh kar ouddariaa ||

The Dark Age of Kali Yuga is the knife, and the kings are butchers; righteousness has sprouted wings and flown away.

So if you are a true Sikh you must have an open mind and not make a judgement and comments about others wihtout learning about them. Gurbani defines that act as Nindya.

    If you want to learn how Brahmin expolited people for centuries and how Guru ji "Liberated" them from Brahmin's grasp, the click on then following link and read for yourself and tell me one thing this man has said or written that goes against Gurbani or Sikhism;

    http://www.kalaafghana.com/files/vol2.pdf

    Bhul Chuk Maaf !

Waheguru ji ka Khalsa Wheguru ji ki Fateh !!

I agree whole heartedly about the "slagging" off of other Sikhs.

I would like to know how many Sikhs have actually read what Kala Afghana wrote? This furore started by Panthic/Nindya Weekly is interesting because I would also like to know how many of the "editors/nindaks" there read his stuff.

I am in no position to call him good or bad because I haven't read all of his writings. Experience has told me not to rely on other peoples say so.

  2. Rejection of the status and importance of the Sant is absolutely antithetical to Gurmat:

    - Because if you read Gurbani you will find in there repeated references to the 'prasad' of the Sant, you meet with Brahamgyan. What pleases the Sant pleases Bhagvan.

    - Because following the Guru's updesh, Brahamgyan is your purusharth, your goal in life, because all is else is as fleeting 'like a wall of sand' (Sri Guru Tegh Bahadar).

    - Because the Sant who has achieved Brahamgyan, takes you to the door of moksh, helps you to purify yourself, get you prepared, to then be acknowledged by Braham with moksh.

    - Because your Satiguru stated explicilty in Gurbani 'I drink the water I used to clean the feet of the saints', 'I live to have the dust from the feet of the Saints', etc.

    - If you haven't met a Sant so far, try harder, their sangat is vital.

My Gurmukh friends are Saints to me....I have no intention of follwoing any Jatha/Sant/Dera type thing though.

  3. .

People have this 'them and us' attitude regarding sants, whereas all a Sant is is someone that has acheived Bhramgian; if you don't believe they exist then how will you ever achieve this point yourself. Whether they are 'needed' or not is irrelevant.

Not quite what I am saying is it?

Why do we need to follow Sants? for that matter Bhai's/Jatha's etc? So why are they needed? Ok someone reaches the state of "Brahmgyanee", but why follow them?

I can honestly say I have not met any Sant's. The closest thing probably, Bhaghat Puran Singh of Pingalwara fame (not to be confused with the Kenyan bunch).

  4. Recently organizers of Sikh Channel made a final decision to ban namdharis on Sikh channel after the kirtan performance by raj academy which had few namdharis performers there as well on stage:

Here is the official response from Sikh channel:

    Please discuss..!

I am no fan of Namdhari's but is it not dangerous to ban other views?

I don't like AKJ rhetoric, therefore should we ban them?

I hate this idea of banning and excommunicating. It is a very dangerous precendent and shows our faith to be weak. The fact we are not strong enough to challenge divergent views?

  5. Only five and randip singh, it appears you guys are going in circles now. Please take one liner responses over the pm. Sorry for being harsh but on sikhawareness here maintaining high quality of the post is our main aim. I hate to lock the thread just because of tu tu mein mein from both sides.

Sorry about that, but this fellow was forced to flee from SPN for exactly these kind of shenanigans. A lot of statements backed with no facts. He caused a lot of arguments and discord, and we as a result heavily edited his posts, at which point the proverbial toys were thrown out of the pram.

I know I should not encourage him, but I do find people like this amusing. I think I will take a break from here in anycase.

    Cheers N30 ;)

PS Is there anyway I can put certain people on ignore here, so as not to view there posts?

  6. Also let's not forget Bhagat Singh compared and then eventually called Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji an idol. You say i spit venomous hate but yet, your own writing says different about you. But i know how you can be stuck in your fantasy world that only you are right because you said it. Another poster said FACTS, but be careful when you speak with Randip only his words are facts.

If you feel hurt that I am showing the true colors of Bhagat Singh then you should coach him in your political ways of speaking with someone. ( Just to please others minds, but do the complete opposite to what you say) Show him Niddar Singh videos. They were great examples with great acting skills.

here is a suggestion, open up a politicain acting studio with Niddar Singh (great actor). And if you want to show a terrible actor bring in Badal one day. You'll make a killing Randip.

I will leave the drama, and acting to you thanks.

  7. Views like Gurbani is maya and Amrit Sanskar is a ritual and just like magic is what Bhagat Singh spreads on SPN. Don't like his views, they are anti-gurmat, a person can change.

Seeing Bhagat Singh track record he is only out to make money and we have the creator of SPN saying the similar to what I have just stated. Not just me who has noticed this. Also we have Bhagat Singh ji just claiming on this site that Baba Deep Singh ji's martydom was just made up and he wants to add to the fantasy of SIkh sakhis.

I like the way you justify another's actions, by this we can see you do the same when it comes to your actions. I hate saying this line over and over, but it says so much in so little. Here it is again, TWO WRONGS DON'T MAKE A RIGHT

That is his view. What makes YOU right and HIM wrong?

    Because he disgrees with you?

You really are some piece of work, with you venomous hate filled attacks. Do you write for Panthic weekly?

  8. How unSikh like of someone to do this. He has no regard for saying im sorry and honesty is something he stays far away from.

    Why is that unSikh?

I agree with fools, morons and retarded people countless times, just to keep the peace. It is a very Sikh tradition. :)

Panthic Weekly is "Nindya" Weekly and there is nothing that has changed my mind about that!

  9. I have a book from Sant Maskeen ji at home.. i dont think he covers a single subject in the book without making refference to some sufi poet. my sunni neighbour who's an islamic author of various books says he has lots of respect for Maskeen ji for this reason, as its easier to understand new subjects when you use familiar sources etc... a good way of preaching he says..

Some nice points by Shaheediyan and Amardeep.

  10. Didn't Guru Nanak Dev Jee study in a Madrassa as a child? How else would he have learnt Farsi? In today's world as we no longer have to go to religious schools in order to learn, but back then education was in the hands of the Mullas and Pandits. If he studied in a Madrassa then he would have also have studied the Quran. As a child he also learnt Sanskrit from a Pandit.

It's just like in today's Punjab, the best schools are run by the Christians and Arya Samajis, so Sikh perents who can afford to will prefer to send their children to a school run by Christians or Arya Samajis

    Exactly.

Nanak had various academic teachers such as Mullahs and Pandits from which he learned Urdu, Arabic, Sanskrit and other languages. These schools no doubt taught them about the Koran and the Vedas.

  11. Strange, the rastafari I know wake up before sunrise to meditate, are vegegatarian and practice 'one love' to all.

They must be a bunch of fad-obsessed idiots, according to you. Now go educate yourself.

Agreed....however, most I know aren't vegetarian. They eat eggs, and if they to eat meat they won't touch meat of the cloven hoof. eg pork.
