  1. WJKK WJKF, What about tying a starched dastaar that is tied everyday? My dad has a starched Pagh as thats the way he was bought up ( born and bred in Kenya). Saying that a starched Pagh looks stupid is offensive. Theres nothing about a starched Pagh that is tied everyday that is against Sikhi. For anyone that may want to know 'why a starched Pagh', its because my grandad used to work in construction and a starched Pagh was better in the conditions he had to work in, and my grandad passed on this style to his son (my dad). 2. WJKK WJKF, I am considering taking Amrit sometime soon, and so far have thought about tying a patka to keep my head covered when I do. I have spent a lot of time reading what people think on keeping ones head covered and have come across many conflicting views. If I do take Amrit, and keep my head covered with a patka and not a keski, does that mean that I have no chance to gaining mukhti? Is it going to stop me getting anywhere spiritually? Looking at some of the comments made, it comes across to me that people are wanting to do things more as a chore/ritual, that we are loosing touch with what/why we are doing things and more emphasise is placed on debating whats rite and whats wrong rather than acting on whats going to go with us  Naam I'm sorry if I have offended anyone or said anything wrong WJKK WKJF
  3. WJKK WJKF, Thanks for the info Hari Phaji, I have come across most of that in bits and pieces before. Phaji I get the impression you know a fair bit on this topic and so would like to ask if you know anything about Dera Baba Nanak that is in the village of Gurdaspur by the India - Pakistan boarder. The Baba Ji there at the moment are baba Balbir Singh Bedi Ji and they are currently doing sewa of looking after Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Chaula. Just wondering if you have any info on this. WJKK WJKF
  4. WJKK WJKF, A very good point that you have raised in this thread, I agree with you as all we have to do is go to Guru Ji for guidence, we don't need the jatha's etc etc
  5. WJKK WJKF Phaji in reference to what you have wrote, I have come across this story a number of time (people verbally telling the story), the one about the pot and you have mentioned that this did not take place. I am intregued as to where you have got this information from as it contradicts a number of stories that I have heard. I am not stating that what you have said is incorrect or anything like that, I would just like to find out what really happened as there are 2 stories that are told. Gabroo Phaji, I am again intregued as to why you don't believe that Udhasis's are from Sikhi. Can you please provide some references which made you reach this conclusion. Thank you WJKK WJKF
