Was there a stoppage in gurbani hence baba sri chand gave the mantra or was out of humility from request from guru arjun dev ji..... Personally i have heard both stories.... Udasis say it was stoppage of bani others say out of humility......personally i do not know and have heard both arguments.... ALL i want is an honest answer...not one thinking a certain answer means we are sikhs and another means we are non sikhs....you all get the picture......please honest unbiased resposes please....im open to all thought inparticular udasi and nirmala thougtht...i apologise if i heart anyones heart..fateh

Things aint lookin too good at alll, on top of this it seems the pakis/muslims are at the centre of it. Be it here or overseas......goingback to the original post all i will say its not wrong to fight fire with fire. Meaing the old sp boys did a good job in 80/90s.....the gurdwara went aga,inst them due to being politically correct and this is the consEquence..sorry i would like to write in more detail but on my phone and hate typing.. In fact wanted to write a post but had to reply....in my opinion sikhs/ Singhs are more concerned with pleasing the democratic western fashion then to stick to what is right and giving jusTice....also knowledge.... Parents/gurdwara do not shy from lust veechar... Its the one thing killing everyone......they play it off with saying the paki wooed the sikh girl and her ego got boosted.......in my opinion she got aroused...fine definition....also not just pakis but if turks get in eu...watch out.....sorry if i offended anyone just my opinion and im not one who hasnt seen anything and replying on the basis of internet reading....ive seen familes destroyed by daughters going with pakis....the worst being sikh girl running away from home with a paki to return in a few months as a heroin addict......

hey guys,, im not a very intelligent person nor an academic...so if i sound "dumb"bare with me pls... just a pattern.. a lot of the "old"religions have been watered down etc.. sikhi is only 500 years old...in, say 500 years time from now maybe we will be percieved as other religions as watered down-- may be as islam as being terorists/fundamentalists..(i hope not)..... this statement is more to do with observation and the "now" rather than "gyan of gurbani", which i hope to have and all the others seeking rub....... i want to hear of others.....are we going on a right path of. lets all be amrithdhairi. akhand path has to have 25 singhs..vaheguru mantra/mool mantra should only be recited by amritdhari.. what about sarbat da bhalla. or should sarbat recite other words until they are amritdhari.. where are we going..................personally.. we need a lot more.. i mean a lot more bhram gyan in our gurdwara a lot more in my opinion...no offence to anybody but a lot of sikhs can tell al the sakhis of the gurus but no gyan of akaal...no offence, but you can be an amritdhari and not be onw with nirgun anand.... and if it comes down to one doing his "thing" and japping etc then lets forget about sarbat da ballah,, and say my ballah no one elses..hhhmm in my personal view.. a lot of the amritdhari/"high sikhs" have lost touch of their fellow sikhs... simple in the uk.. no offence to anyone,,,when its about singhs we all claim that to be a singh we need keshdhari/amritdhari, but when it comes to pysical battle the all the so called singhs call the "moneh" as "singhs" becasue we need their back up and fighting skills....... im keshadhari but stating what is true.......and in all honesty the moneh stand up!! I know people will say wot is the solution... thats is the reason im posting,, lets get ideas.. and put ides into practice.... 1.,...bhram gyan in gurdwara.. not gyanis that have taken santhiya of maharajj.........in nirmal samprada and i think taksal aswell 9 granths have to be studied before even thinking of gyan of maharaj dhan dhan guru granth shib ji..... 2...martila arts...forgets arguing about gatka/shaster vidiya.......... the best vidiya,thats what im saying.. along with boxing/muay thai/bjj...etc..alot of sikhs (moneh etc) have alot of knowledge if you allow them to teach... lets not divide but put or personal skills together...udasi/nirmala/nihang/sevapanthi/ we are all one.....akj etc ur also one of us....akaal p.s ... this is a topic which equires solutions to be put into practice..

Thanks for the replies guys,, i also thought in terms of "religion" the maiya bit is not that important so to speak....as suryadev paaji said which is what i have always understood that before perfoming any task blessings should be recieved by ganesh ji.... the reason i asked this question because i heard of a sakhi (nothing to do with weddings/maiya) is that when the devis/devteh came to see guru nanak dev ji they offered haar(flowers) and rubbed sandlewood on his face/body, and for some reason this story popped in my head whilst observing the maiya tradition that maybe the people are imitating ganesh by rubbing tumeric on the bride/groom... sort of indirect blessing.. also the flower made design the bride/groom sit on is the "hindu" symbol....im just speaking from observation and have no knowledge on maiya as i cannot find anything on the internet, religious sikhs say it should not be practiced, and the older lot just say its a tradition... from my understanding most if not all "acts of tradition/rituals" are a watered down pratan/snatan "religious ritual"... i suppose this is not the most important topic in my life but something which has always bugged me as to why we do it...personally have nothing against it and i would participate in the tradition my self.. lol at converting response... sikhs are really para about the hindu dharm...

hi, just wanted to ask the connection between sikh weedings and ganesh ji.. in particular maiya (night before wedding).. no offense but do not want to hear from people who are going to give a lecture on lavaan just want to know about maiya inparticular with ganesh connection.... want to hear an unbiased view (preferbly gurmat add to it..)
