  1. Digits of Mala beads always add up to 9 for eg. 18 54,72 108 etc
  2. Full auras are different colors on different areas of body. Aura around head tells a lot about spirituality but the balances around the body can affect the upper aura. Most of the time you can work out who has naam and who hasn't. Shouldn't spend more than a few seconds reading one.
  3. It refers to the original primitive sound of the cosmos and Consciousness. The "Ong" or 'om" as in Ek Ong- kar. The frequency of this sound can't be isolated as it is un-struck (an-had). The Tibetan bowl can produce frequencies within closer octave ranges and because of this 'om' like resonance, it can have positive healing effects. You should hear most of them at some time or another and they can re-appear at different frequencies tio sound like particular instrument's that we are familiar with. Gurbani mentions quite a few of these and on many occasions it gives and idea of avasthas associated. I believe it's important to decipher gurbani shabads yourself since it delivers at all levels. You will encounter one or two at a time whilst in the process of purifying Mann. Later, you should hopefully hear more as you proceed along the early bhavsagar and start crossing. Gurbani give's the nishanees for these throughout and by then, you'll be able to grasp certain shabads with atmic(internal) gyaan to help guide you further. Yeh, I used to listen a lot to old dharmic geets and digitized most of my own LP's and tapes. The ek-tar sound from one string is amazing. All sounds from multi-string instruments originate from the single tar. I know it's difficult to distinguish and isolate at times. The bowl "om" is like a constant bass line but you will perceive it with different pitch and amplitudes dependent on consciousness clarity. Safest way is to try and put dhyian on it to see if it can take you deeper into one-pointed focus. If not, then move on to the dhun of internal jap.
  4. Dhillon talks a load of codswallop and he's intellect is an insult to gurbani. Does he know what shabad is? Does Dhadri? I second that and would shred his genius into a corner. @angy15 This has noting to do with taksal vs dhadri and your assumption, that members here are outright taksal supporters. 'I'm responding because of the severity of manmat and anti-gurmat by Dhadri clan, and your esteem for Dhillon. I have no association with any samparda, jatha, taksal, akj, nanasar, Nihangs etc. On top of this, you went and presented the below tuk with a deliberate misinterpretation. I would be happy to show you the depths and deeper meaning of above tuk and shabad , and prove to you that it has nothing to do with listening and expressing to fellow debaters. You should realize where I'm coming from and be prepared to learn a thing or two about the "core" of sikhi.
  5. all of them ..lol I think it's important to understand that the 5 sounds are categories that we can associate to instruments we know of. You probably have a good idea already, but i'll summarize below(from previous notes) for the benefit of others.. In general categorization of musical sounds Panch Sabad is a set of five kinds of musical sounds. These are as follows: 1. Sounds made from string instruments -sitar,violin, guitar, sarod etc. 2. Sounds made from percussion instruments with skin cloth(leather) -dhol, mridang, drum, tabla, dholak etc. 3. Sounds made from metallic clanging instruments -chimta, chainay, bell etc. 4. Sounds made by wind instrument and puffing breath -flute, conch shell, pipe, horn etc. 5. Sounds made by tapping hollow vessels like pitcher, earthen pot, gharda etc. Similar categorization used by yogis and travelling musicians -Sankh (Conch Shell as a wind instrument) -Mridang (percussion instrument with two sides made up of animal skin similar to dholki) -Kinguri (a stringed instrument), Single-stringed like “ik-tara” and smaller tumbi. **Interestingly, the smaller tumbi was first made and used by legendry Lal Chand Yamla Jatt and at the time he called it “king” (from kinguri) . Have a listen to golden oldie "Satguru Nanak teri leela nayari hai" -Murli, Singi (Flute, a wind instrument) -Veena (a huge hollow gourd with strings) The general Panj shabad sounds heard whilst doing Simran, or prior to entering Nijh ghar, can be generalized with the above. It’s difficult to specify which string instrument or wind sound is resonating, but one can usually categorize into above. ie. at certain frequency it may sound like a "singi" as in ਸਿੰਙੀ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਅਨਾਹਦਿ ਵਾਜੈ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ Sińī suraṯ anāhaḏ vājai gẖat gẖat joṯ ṯumārī. The horn of consciousness vibrates the unstruck sound current; Your Light illuminates each and every heart, Lord. Or at other frequencies it may be more of a snake charmers "beena", as in .. ਬੀਣਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਵਜਾਵੈ ਜੋਗੀ ਦਰਸਨਿ ਰੂਪਿ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥ Bīṇā sabaḏ vajāvai jogī ḏarsan rūp apārā. The Yogi who plays on the instrument of the Shabad gains the Blessed Vision of the Infinitely Beautiful Lord. That's a little tricky, but It's about the frequency of vibration. In the above video; the OM caught my attention and I tended towards the primordial 'eko shabad' sound., as per.. Ėk sabaḏ merai parān basaṯ hai bāhuṛ janam na āvā. ||1|| The One Word of the Shabad abides within my mind; I shall not come to be born again. I could be wrong and it may well be associated with a category sound, but these Tibetan bowls and the frequencies are known to be excellent healing sounds just like primordial om., whereas, the other sounds have lesser effect. ** This is according to my own experience with healing sounds. I had a number of sssions with a music producer (also my physical therapist), in his studio. We experimented with many ranges and harmonies as he'd later monitor for any noticeable changes in my physical appointments. The ek shabad can first start as a low frequency tibetan bowl sound. If you find that it can help grab your focus and take you into deeper meditative state, then you should practice listening to it and soon enough, it's frequency should start increasing as the mann gets more purified. I know there's an overlap between describing the conch, flute and lower frequency ringing sound. I usually advise that one should try and see if the sound can help them get into deeper simran, if not, then continue with gurmantar and keeping dhyian on the dhun. Worth referring to these past posts for more info on panch shabad
  6. The 5 shabads can arise from this primordial type sound and may also merge to form this sound.
  7. Well done! I'm glad you are one of the few that knows; everything else goes on the back burner whilst bhagti stays at the front. Good lad.
  8. I second the responses that @BhagatSingh gave you for this post and the sinus block. With regards to these communication etc.. It may be good or it may be bad as Bhagat mentioned. I agree, and will add a little from what I learned when similar happened to me. The important point is that you should just acknowledge and move on to Simran as with any other sounds. Don't get caught up "unless" there is a message. In my experience, I did go through a phase where the disorientation occurred but not the blurry figures /colors. ^^ This part.. Yes, I know what you mean. Judging by the previous posts and the recent experiences, it all seems to tie together with a similar phase that I somewhat remember Your dristee is opening up as I mentioned earlier and it may be possible you are also seeing other things that you could be uncertain about. Now, with the communicating and perception of message there are two possibilities. 1) It could be a divine message. This can occur any time whilst in meditative state and could even be darshan of guru, though the message will be towards the EK. 2) It may not be divine and could be bad in the sense it being some diversion, temptation or a test. This can take many forms and shapes and can appear as something transcending and heavenly. But you should not respond, just acknowledge and continue with Simran. That's all I'm gonna say on 1 & 2, as I have to keep it watered down. (will elaborate in pm) The main point and key is to keep going with Simran and just observe the rest.
  9. Okay, I think you got the Pineal supplements sorted so, I'll just give quick reply to the questions raised here last week. Firstly, You are correct, zero water will grab CO2 from air and make some HCO3- ions. Some scientists label the 0 TDS water as "hungry". Now, what we usually do is pour it from the dispenser into a jug and add a small pinch of Pink Himalayan sea salt crystals.(just a pinch per 2 liter jug-should not taste salty at all as it will just fill in the hungry gaps.) The salt contains between 60 to 84 trace minerals that complete the ionic energy generated if pure natural water were available. These are just the just the 'trace minerals" and NOT the core calcium and magnesium that pure mineral water should contain. With regards to the HCO3- issue, well the small amount Na(sodium) from the Himalayan salt will generate a small bicarbonate effect that will tend for the ph to shift towards alkaline. I also make up electrolyte waters that we use as an needed using Vega sport electrolyte powders. I've been taking multivitamin and mineral supplement every day since I was a teenager (that's over 30 years!), been taking Coenzyme Q10 for nearly 24 years, and take other supplements as well. Try and get frequent superfoods like Goji berries, Kale, Avocado, wheatgrass, coconut, cinnamon, ginger, turmeric etc.. Always keep a good enough supply to make varieties of Nutribullet shakes that I consume on most days. These change according to what I may feel I need at certain times. Don't be fooled though, I may sound like a health freak, but I've put my body through years of abuse as well.
  10. Very good. Sounds like the dristee that's associated with physical eyes. (not just mind's eye) You are actually beginning to see more clarity and I know it seems weird at first. I wasn't sure for quite a while and thought there were some problem with my vision. Glad to say that there's no cause for uncertainty. ਨੈਨਹੁ ਪੇਖੁ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕਾ ਰੰਗੁ ॥ Nainhu pekẖ ṯẖākur kā rang. With your eyes, see the wondrous play of your Lord and Master. Remember I said …. Keep referring to gurbani and absorb the changes one by one.
  11. There could be a lot more to it as you say. I've read about pitta, vata, kapha a long time ago. It made sense, but I've never viewed or applied that approach for mind, body and spirit. There was a book that member @das had suggested called "timeless secrets" or something. by Andreas...... ? and was an eye opener for me. I'll see if I have those lecture notes on a hard drive somewhere, they were on an old laptop.
  12. as I stated previously; Here is what I considered an appropriate explanation, since there's no correct way to write how it's pronounced in English. If anything , it will come across as 'Har'
  13. check this thread below... Passiflora extract, 5-htp, melatonin, DMT, Pineal gland are all linked. Sadly, the information you will find is pretty mishmash. I know much more than back then, about what's suitable for pineal health and how dmt comes into the picture. I can advise and have some scientific material from a analytical chemist that specialized in this area. Let me know your questions.
  14. Yeh, that's the difference, you can describe it as dragged out 'e'. I know what you mean Did i miss something? I haven't avoided no question, i explained the subject of siharee with reference to Har-i, as I understood it. I haven't followed this thread in detail and I haven't got the time or energy either. I've given all the input as per my understanding, since my punjabi reading is limited based only on what I've taught myself.
  15. Pavan has to be balanced for mind to be still. However, to get to the mind being still, you have to use a tool(tra) for the Mind(man). Man-tra (mind-tool) is what we use for japna. . After continuing with japna technique, saas graas, saas saas, ...mind will start getting cleansed and your sukham body will start awakening. At the same time the pavan will start balancing and praan will start flowing in sehaj. MInd will eventually get still and one can then start hearing shabadguru, anhad, naad, .. The goal is Merging the mind into the pavan. Listening and connecting with internal shabad, results in stilling of mind. At the same time, the pavan gets balanced and sukhmana channel can open up. Pavan balancing or mind being still, doesn't have to occur one before the other. They both occur in parallel more or less. The PRAAN is the life force and the imbalance of pavan is what causes thoughts. Bhagat Kabir ji says..... ਕੁੰਜੀ ਕੁਲਫੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਕਰਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਕਰਤੇ ਬਾਰ ਨ ਲਾਈ ॥੧॥ Kunjī kulaf parān kar rākẖe karṯe bār na lā▫ī. ||1|| He made Praan the watchman for the body. with KEY and LOCK placed in this Praan to protect it ; the Creator did this in no time at all. ||1||
  16. Do you not think "ee" sound is from biharee? Yes I do think so. I see where you are coming from. What I wrote in my post is referring to HARi. When someone hears this, or lets say the sound coming out of my vocal chords, then it will be heard as HAR. On a simple mono phone line, you would perceive it as HAR, since you can't hear the vibrating "ee" effect. You wont hear me saying Haree as in a haree Krishna type chant. Sound is a HAR and ending in a very subtle "ee" vibration, but to average joe, it still sounds like a straight HAR. Key is to not finish it with a dead end "Rrr" but with R-ee. The subtle 'ee' comes with exhaling breath sound. I think this is what you mean by sharp 'e'. That wasn't my point. I have also invoked amrit in complete silence, just with rom rom. The core of my Simran is mental, silent rom rom with gurushabad. The point I was making was reference to the effectiveness of HARi if you are doing verbal jap. The effect by slight roll of tongue and finishing with subtle "ee" exhaling breath sound is significant. Even though it is so delicate and quiet, it has the effect to strike the amrit naadis. It only works when one is at those levels with mann, and the mann has been cleansed enough. It was at that time that I noticed there were a number of pangtees with 'amrit' and 'har' in same line.
  17. It is advisable to avoid fluoride if possible. It calcifies the pineal gland; which inhibits spiritual growth and keeps your consciousness at low levels. The pineal gland is an important seat of consciousness. If it gets damaged, then your consciousness is unable to function or improve. Amrit nectar originates from the pineal gland. People with highly calcified glands often have lower IQ and limited awareness. They are usually stuck in a version of reality that is not the truth, and have difficulty in gaining spiritual awareness or ever awakening to real truths …(we have a couple on the forum...lol ) I'm a firm believer of these negative fluoride effects and there have been many studies. After noticing how the youth around me are so dumbed down nowadays, I decided to take some steps to minimize my kids fluoride consumption to avoid them becoming like other post millennials. I've been using "Zerowater" for nearly 2 years to remove all traces of any dissolved solids in water. It removes everything and seemed to be the answer after doing some reading around.. Tap water contains lead, chlorides, bromides, mercury, phosphorus , and dozens of other traces. ALL 'halides'(chloride, fluoride, bromide) can calcify the pineal gland. I'm not sure about other filters, because they all seemed to have pro's and con's. Some left the lead in, some just removed calcium which causes scaling, some made water more alkaline and some just removed one or teo of something else.....so I thought it easier to remove everything and make sure we were consuming necessary trace minerals via other sources. I was trying to consume the most nearest to natural water, as God had intended. (ph7 neutral). However, like I say, you miss out on important minerals like copper, silver, magnesium, chromium...etc and TBH, Nowadays, we can't get these from fruit and veg either because even with organic, the quality of soil is not the same as it were for our ancestors. So, I make sure we are getting these trace minerals via supplements. I try and get ones derived from whole foods rather than synthetic. Since I've only used the zero-water and it has been doing the trick, I can only suggest this. If you are able to return the one you purchased, then give it ashot. We have the larger water tank with filter in the fridge and I have noticed that my kids are more aware and have a good depth for understanding truth. Water quality is pretty good in Vancouver as I've only had to change the filter once in 2 years!
  18. Don't let these issues come in the path of your abyaas. Such arguments and cynics, will just drain and suck out your spiritual energies. Continue on your path and keep checking gurbani for guru's mat.
  19. Ridiculous! You need to find out what amrit vela means and why it's called amrit vela. Your logic is not gurmat. It's your own mind's manmat. Gur saṯgur kā jo sikẖ akẖā▫e so bẖalke uṯẖ har nām ḏẖi▫āvai. One who calls himself a Sikh of the Guru, the True Guru, shall rise in the early morning hours and meditate on the Lord's Name.
  20. Good abundant supply of ojas can help raise the kundalini, but it's not the same thing as kundalini energy. It's a subtle energy throughout the body that is akin to path of cerebrospinal fluid. Whereas Prana is a life force energy that sustains our jeev, Ojas affects you physically in terms of stamina, vitality and health. If you have lack of stamina, and internal energy, then your ojas is depleted. Lots of apnay have poor ojas, as apparent from spare tire waists, pot bellies and lack of muscle. Yogi bhajan lectures explained it quite well but I don't think you can access them online any longer. I may have some pdf's that I'll try and locate. It's worth a look at this old thread to get a better idea...….
  21. I was waiting to state this after I could sense angy15's next question brewing up... The missionary ..."Where in SGGSji does it say Waheguru is gurmantar?"
  22. heh. heh. lol. I know. It'd be foolish to try and tell someone what may happen after a slumber event. It's the beginning of new phases, and you will understand it better in the coming weeks. Sometimes we forget our states of mind too easily. It may be a good idea to keep a log or journal of your daily events, experiences and emotions.. Just carry on in the same way with your studies and simran.
  23. I understand what you mean about the "he is me", and I would also agree with your understanding. Nevertheless, I can explain about the technique/intention they use with So-Hang jap, but firstly could you explain what "Jagayasus" means? (I'm not sure if I understood it correctly) Now, with the So-Hang jap. I believe they do it as 2 syllables of So and Hang. ... so-hang...so-hang...so-hang..... They can do it in single breath or a So and Hang in separate breaths. The idea is to get so absorbed in the sound of mantar; that it becomes both So-Hang and Hang-So.. Should be heard as if it is Hang-so and also So-Hang is being uttered. Similar to when a person can't differentiate whether one is saying so-hang or hang-so. This is their way to take you to jyoti-jyot milayee. "I am him" and "He is me". so-hang, hang-so
