    Amrit

Hey guys, Im a amrit shak sikh but its not working for me. I have been amrit shak for about 3 and half years now. I feel like I got amrit shak becasue I wanted to feel a sense of belonging somewhere because my friends all smoke, drink, etc but now I feel like I made a mistake by getting amrit shak. I for one barley do any prayers, I dont enjoy going to the gurudawra, I just like i am not a sikh anymore. My whole family is super religious and all of them are amrit shak but I dont know what to do. I am stuck, I feel like i cant move on with life because of this issue. I will never eat meat in my

  8. Did Banda Bahadur take Amrit Khanda da pahul? As our previous discussions ends off, we got to this disputed historical ideas comparing some of the non-orthodox claims by user Sher which claim Banda Bahadur was an aestheic guru himself who wasn't a khalsa sikh. Nor had Singh as his surname. Perhaps we can come to some solid conclusive evidence of him have Singh or not having Singh in his name. Or about his name being Gurbaksh Singh? Please see this for the previous conversation about this topic http://www.sikhawareness.com/index.php/topic/15215-does-the-9th-guru-profess-to-being-a-hindu
  9. Hello everyone, I have found myself in a rather unique situation (well to me at least). Let me start by saying that I am not a Sikh, neither am I Punjabi. I recently started a "relationship" with a man who is Sikh (from Punjab). My partner is religious and has told me that at some stage he would like to take Amrit, as a result of this I have made a concerted effort to start learning about Sikhism as it such an important part of his life. Anyway, I understand that dating is not ideal in Sikhism and I must mention that we are not living together, nor do we share a physical relationshi
