While fighting with Bhasauriyas das has come with this verse

Rām nām ur mai gahio jā kai sam nahī koė.

I have enshrined the Lord's Name within my heart; there is nothing equal to it.

ਮਃ 9 - view Shabad/Paurhi/Salok

Jih simraṯ sankat mitai ḏaras ṯuhāro hoė. ||57||1||

Meditating in remembrance on it, my troubles are taken away; I have received the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. ||57||1||

ਮਃ 9 - view Shabad/Paurhi/Salok

could term Ram at start to do somethingh the poet Ram or the Tenth Master?

Das did some study and will put more over it.

It may means that instead of name of Ram,it says Ram,the poet says the name went into heart.

More inputs and then a fight with Bhasaruis.

Singh sahib Ji...........

First off.....a warm waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh..........

the term ram appears in gurbani many a myriad times but that doesn't necessarily mean that it is the sargun saroop of akal purkh ji but just a reference to him as waheguru is or Allah is, or khuda, rahim...........

let's look at rehiras sahib.............

Ram Rahim Puran Kuran anek kahieaa mat ek na maneyo.........

Ramkali, mehalla 5......panna 885........

Koī bolai rām rām koī khudāė.

Some call Him, 'Raam, Raam', and some call Him, 'Khudaa-i'.

Koī sėvai gusīā koī alāhi. ||1||

Some serve Him as 'Gusain', others as 'Allaah'. ||1||

Kāran karan karīm.

He is the Cause of causes, the Generous Lord.

Kirpā kaār rahīm. ||1|| rahāo.

He showers His Grace and Mercy upon us. ||1||Pause||

Koī nāvai tirath koī haj jāė.

Some bathe at sacred shrines of pilgrimage, and some make the pilgrimage to Mecca.|

Koī karai pūjā koī sir nivāė. ||2||

Some perform devotional worship services, and some bow their heads in prayer. ||2||

Koī parai bėd koī katėb.

Some read the Vedas, and some the Koran.

Koī odhai nīl koī supėd. ||3||

Some wear blue robes, and some wear white. ||3||

Koī kahai turak koī kahai hindū.

Some call themselves Muslim, and some call themselves Hindu.

Koī bāchhai bhisat koī surgindū. ||4||

Some yearn for paradise, and others long for heaven. ||4||

Kaho Nānak jin hukam pachhātā.

Says Nanak, one who realizes the Hukam of God's Will,

Parabh sāhib kā tin bhėd jātā. ||5||9||

knows the secrets of his Lord and Master. ||5||9||

now understainding this tuk shall give you what you are searching for......... :)

Ram in the Guru Granth Sahib, does not refer to the son of king Dasrath. That Ram, came and went away, he was an incarnation of the god Vishnu.

The hindu trinty(and gods, godesses, etc) as per Gurmat, are countless in countless creations...but Wahiguru Akal Purukh is only one and eternal. He is only Truth. He is above all. He is the Supreme, the Highest, He is Apaar, Alakh, Agam ...He is Anamee.

So when our Guru Sahibans mention that Supreme Power Wahiguru as Ram in the bani, they use that term in the sense, that it permeates(ramyaa) every thing and every place, in the very core, the very depth of it, something as intrinsec.

So when Guru Sahiban says:

राम नामु उर मै गहिओ जा कै सम नही कोइ
Rām nām ur mai gahio jā kai sam nahī koė.

I have enshrined the Lord's Name within my heart; there is nothing equal to it.

He is telling us that:

That Ram, which is all permeating, and is Nirankar...I have implanted Him, manifested Him, kept Him within, in the depth of my mind and heart, through the Gurparasd, and by doing its kamaee, its sadhna... it has manifested in me as Nam, the true form of Wahiguru Akal Purukh. in the form of Holy Sound, Dhun, Anhad Shabad, Word, Bani, Dhur ki Bani, Anhad Bani(Nam jinke man vaseh, vajeh Shabad ganere)...give it any name, but it is referred to the same consicious power in each and everyone of us in the same amount and measure.

Whosever wadbhagee(be he may from east, west south or north, of any caste, color or creed ) devotes himself through Gurmat, will realize this universal Truth: Nam

That is greatness of Akal Purukh. Atee Sundar man mohan pyaro...

Wah wah Sachay Badshah, kaun jane guna tere.
