about the 52 hukams

Recommended Posts

sat siri akal ji to all,

i was just wondering on 1 of the Siri Guru Gobind Singh Jis hukams. in the 47th one it says:

47)Sikhi kesaa-suaasa sang nibhaaouni - Live as a Keshadhari Sikh.

i always thought it that Siri Guru Gobind Singh Ji said he wants his sikhs to live as keshadhari and shastardhari sikhs? i am unsure so cud u please inform me on what is right or wrong?

thanks.

also i do not understand line 45:

45)Putari da dhan bikh jananaa - Recognize the property of a daughter as poison?

why is this?

thank you.

Well if you see commandment 7: It says that you shall keep your 5 k's... That includes shastar as well right.

I think since kesh play very important rule in sikhism because of the spirtual reason...thats why its has quoted as separate commandment.

also i do not understand line 45:

45)Putari da dhan bikh jananaa - Recognize the property of a daughter as poison?

why is this?

I think the reason is because in guroo's time they were lot of evil parents who never worked but make their children work as salvery. Its is indeed an known fact that earning of daughter shall not be taken by the parents. If she is contributing herself then its fine but parents shall not ask for it while they sit free and make the children work. I think thats the reason i came up.

I might be wrong on this. But I think its quite similiar to what i said...
