to answer everyone's question,

and I am being honest here.....

many singhs have chips on their shoulders, and if they don't have chips on their shoulders....parents of girls are always downplaying "gyani's/turbanned guys/gurdwara politics" and everything else that is discussed around alcohol, namkeen, and chicken dian latta.

our society is flawed that way. We as singhs don't smile and feel the odds are against us. I look at it this way, lets say I am seen as the ugliest guy in a pack amongst most girls....the one who likes me will fall for me hard. I see enough good looking girls with "ugly" guys (ugly meaning what society thinks...not necessarily sardars).

Also if you look at it, if you don't smile.....you don't socialise...you don't seem content...why would anyone want to approach you. I must be honest with everyone and admit its been a year and a half since I kept my kesh, I tie a messy dastar <naamdhari-like>(I'm working on it)....but I still see myself as who I was before...and truthfully, I don't see the turban as being much of an issue.

I think the reason why punjabi sikh girls want non-turban guys is because of the western society we live in. For them, having turban is like you living in cave age or you are pendufied.

Once turban sikh guys go for modelling here and once they get exposed to the western media ...watch then...punjabi sikh girls will be all over the singhs because now it will be fashion, accepted by western soceity is accepted by them...just really shows how we claim ourselves that we are not slave...but we actually are slaves of this western soceity that is making us to forget our roots.

In india already sikhs with turbans got exposed in main stream indian modeling sub-culture...now days are not far where in india- Punjabi girls wont hestiate not even once to marry with a singh with turban because these models have use this western way into something positive that is representating sikhi saroop and inspire lot of punjabi youths to grow their kesh (which is major step) yet alone be amritdhari (by Vahiguroo's kirpa according to one karma will get reach that goal too) but you know what i mean?

Everything takes certain steps and pateince.

Singhs dont be discouraged by some. Days are good because we are sons of Satguroo gobind singh maharaj. My perspective on this runs along drawof veer ji's where, if a person has confidence and has a wonderful personality then ppl will be attracted to them no matter how they look, they just have to believe in themselves. I kno that at my uni here all of the turbaned guys have girlfriends that their' serious about, compared to the non turbaned ones... It's all about how u feel about urself.... if ur not confident, ppl can pick that up and will stay away, however if ur sure of urself and what u r, then ppl by themselves start coming to u....

95% of "sikh" girls want non-turbanned "sikhs" because, 95% of people who are born-sikh do not even know what sikhi really is, and do not value it.

I'd say 5-10% actually value what they know, rather than just take it in as random knowledge.

So, these 95% of born-sikh-girls are like everyone else in the world....just born.

Why make them suffer and life a lifestyle they don't enjoy?

Why make them marry someone who they think is ugly? as Obviously they value looks more than sikhi/insides.

Keeping hair isnt the difference. Having knowledge of sikhi isnt the difference.

What makes the key difference is having the knowledge of sikhi and valuing it. (Keeping your hair and knowing WHY you do)

Both go hand in hand. If your marrying a Singhni or only look for singhni, be careful and find out the answers if shes knowledgeable of sikhi.

The hair isnt the only thing that makes a sikh.

knowledge or "having sikhi inside your heart" isnt the only thing either.

Why search for a girl that values make-up more than the path of truth?

I cann't speak for Sikh or Non- Sikh Girls. But my belief is that they should look for the right person Turbanned or Non-Turbanned.

Neither can make a person better or worse. Every bodies Karma makes them what they are?

I have lived and worked at various places around the world, with sikhs and non-sikhs, and never found any problem. Actually, there used to be invitations for different ocassions, just as a way of being together.

Considering me not very smart person, but looks like they liked the pugg and values I lived for and carried with me. Somehow, I feel, we need to wear a smile alongwith pugg with no pride, but just caring for others, and thats what makes a lot of difference.

I havn't read the previous posts so I might be repeating what some other guy said so don't whine at me.

Anyway from my experience most apostate Sikh girls (who happen to make the majority of Sikh girls) pretty much dislike facial hair, but most tolerate turbans etc. Only the ones who have a decent amount of knowledge of Sikhism and maintain their dignity (ie no booze and mini skirts) don't mind beards but they're few in number, well at least in my generation and where I'm from.

However it just shows how superficial people are, I don't really care what people think and neither should any other Singhs getting bugged by this absurd trend.

No, It doesnt kill anything. You may like to assure yourself by asking females married to sikhs (with pugg and beard) in own family or surroundings. I dont know what LTR means though. And your personal experiences seem to be long way to go. But good thing, is you have got questions, and are looking for answers.
