"ALL MUSLIMS living in India are Hindus. All Sikhs are Hindus," asserted the RSS chief, K.S. Sudarshan, at a recent meeting in Amritsar.

The RSS didn't say that those Sikhs living in Pakistan are also Hindus? Maybe some Sunni/Shiah Muslims will accept they are Hindustani but what about those Pakistani Wahabi Muslims?

1stly, Jee aayan nu.

Bro, how can Sikhs living in Pakistan be Hindu/Hindustani (same meaning in this context)?

All Pakistani accept their minorities as Pakistani, Pakistani is not a religion. They don't have to accept them as Muslim to accept them as Pakistani. I think RSS are refering to those who live in Hindustan as Hindustani, which is correct, religion doesn't come into (leaving RSS agenda aside for one moment).

Same way, I live in Britain, hence am British.

The same RSS chief who wants Bani of Fakirs removed from Guru Sahib, because they were Muslim? Don't listen to a word that comes from the RSS.

I think it is a big problem when mysticism or GOD-inspired utterances take the place of social institutions and rituals as a means to live in the world. The obliteration of things such as caste jaat social rituals time honoured customs and traditions is also a project being carried out by modern secularism and look where this is leading us. There is a fine line between the void of nihilsm-total destruction and the void that is a plenum, a fullness. Imposing sayings of mystical oneness on a community as a means of living, without the substructure of traditions and culture, which gradually lead people to this truth is likely to create psychopaths. There is a gap created by modern secularism, a gap which was filled by 'tradition', this gap cannot just be bridged by a militant form of strict Advaita. There has to be a 'conveyer belt' of society and culture that grooms people to access the pure truths of oneness, without the conveyer belt individuals who are not sufficently prepared for these truths may poison there systems by imbibing a nasha that they cannot digest. I am sorry to say the form of Sikh religion in the west has abstracted itself from the realities of the surrounding society thus becoming disharmonious, i do not mean the essence of Sikhi but the form it has assumed in the 21st century.

How did Hinduism originated is a difficult question. The accepted theory is that Hinduism was evolved after the historical meeting between the Aryans and Dravidians. Some claim that Hinduism is mainly an Aryan culture whereas the others claim that it is mainly a Dravidian culture. Religiously the Vedas were given by Brahma.

Before Hinduism there existed another religion in India called Brahmanism and its followers were called Brahmans. The Brahmans were the spiritual and moral guides of the Indian society. The members of this religion were a close sect and others could not join it. The Brahmans slowly started accepting others into their religion and so was created Hinduism which included in it the customs which were not part of the Vedas. One of the reasons the Brahmans accepted others to their religion was the fear to loose their status as moral guides to priests of a new religion that started in India, namely Buddhism. The Brahmans even accepted Buddha as an incarnation of Lord Vishnu and part of his teachings and philosophy like non-violence into their religion.

Hinduism is a term introduced by British Raaj when British introcued the concept of religion to the dharmic hindustani people. The hinbduism term is used to club together all the sanatan spritual traditions and panths into one representative religion, whcih goray like(d) to see .

Other than that, many cultures in the past just had spirtuality followed in conjunction with their tribal lifestyle. It was part of society, it wasn't a separate religion.

I thought the term Hindu was one originating from Arabs to describe people living in the Indus region. I'm pretty sure it wasn't a religious label originally.

Nanak Nirmal Panth Chalayiya. Sikh dharam was started to put people back to one almighty's bhagti and live in harmony. This is the core of Sikh Dharam. Sikh Dharam is not about proving ourselves better or bigger than others but core is bhagti of ek Premeshra .. Prem- Ishwar .. Ishwar one who loves.

There were Bhagats/Gurus/Saints before Sikh gurus who were preaching one almighty's bhagti and there will be more in coming future. Once they stop coming the world may end.
