Here’s something that has emerged as a consequence of that endeavour. It WILL certainly be full of flaws, and it is in the very hope of possibly identifying and removing these flaws that I share this. So I would really appreciate any native Panjabi speaking/reading brothers or sisters scrutinising this piece and identifying areas of weaknesses. ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰਾਂ ਨੁਕਸ ਕੱਢੋ! I found aligning the gender of verbs and adjectives with nouns within longer sentences, more difficult that I had previously imagined it to be (the 2nd sentence in the piece represents a typical example of such difficulties for me), so I’m sure there are plenty of mistakes in that respect (at the very least). If you see mistakes, correct me and let me know how I should have wrote the offending phrase/sentence. Apart from that, on a wider level, how does it flow? Does it make its points clearly or are they on the ਅਸਪਸ਼ਟ side? How about the spelling? Is it oddly constructed (I’ve consciously used English language influences in the style)? Have I used the vocabulary correctly (i.e. ਉੱਸਰਨਾ, ਪੱਧਰ, ਫੁਰਨਾ, ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ, ਮਹੱਤਵ, ਵਿਸਥਾਰ, ਜਾਪਦਾ, ਸੌਜਣਾ)? Respectfully expressed, constructive criticisms/suggestions are positively encouraged and considered an essential component to development! ਪਿੱਛੇ ਇੱਕ ਫੁਰਨਾ ਜੇਹਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਦਮਾਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਇਆ॥ ਸੋਚ ਤਾਂ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਹੀ ਸੀ ਵੀ ‘ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਹੁਣ, ਅਪਣੀ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਦੀ ਗਿਆਨ ਦਾ ਉੱਸਰਨਾ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰਾਂ ਕਰਾਂ’॥ ਸੱਚ ਇਹੀ ਆ; ਮੇਰੇ 2 (ਦੂਰ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ ਤੇ ਪਿੱਛਲੇ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਦੇ) ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੇਹਾਂਤ ਤੋਂ ਤੋਰਾ ਚਿਰ ਬਾਅਦ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਖ਼ਿਆਲ ਆਇਆ - ਵੀ ਛੱਡੋ ਗੱਲ ਪੂਰੇ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ, ਕਈਆਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਐਹੋ ਜੇ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੀ, ਪੂਰੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਲੰਘ ਜਨਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਾਂਵੇ ਉਹ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਇਸ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਤੋਰਾ ਬਹੁਤਾ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਵੀ ਸਮਝ ਦੇ ਹੋਣ॥ ਫੇਰ ਸੂਝੀ ਜਹੀ ਆਈ.... ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਪਰਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ‘ਮਾ-ਬੋਲੀ’ ਨੂੰ ਮਹੱਤਵ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਲੋਕ ਘੱਟ ਗਿਣਤੀ’ਚ ਨੇ? ਜਾਪਦਾ ਹੈ ਕੇ ਸਾਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਬਾਹਰ ਪੱਛਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਕੇ, ਉਚੀ ਪਦਵੀ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਵਾਲ਼ੀ ਸੰਸਾਰਿਕ ਖੇਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋਏ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਦੀ ਵਿਸਥਾਰ ਦੀ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦੇ ਹਨ॥ ਬਾਹਰ, ਖਾਸ ਲੋਕ ਨਾਂਹੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ-ਗਿਆਨ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਯਤਨ ਕਰ ਦੇ ਨੇ, ਨਾਂਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਆਣੇਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਖੋਣ ਦਾ ਬਹੁਤਾ ਫਿਕਰ ਕਰ ਦੇ ਲਗ ਦੇ ਹਨ॥ ਪਰ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਨੋਟ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਈਦਾ ਵੀ ਗੱਲ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੇ ਨਵੀਂ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਜਾਂ ਸਿਖਣ ਦੀ ਕਮੀ ਹੈ, ਚੂੰਕਿ ਇੰਗਲੈਂਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਖੁਦ ‘ਵਰਕਿੰਗ ਕਲਾਸ’ ਗੋਰੇਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰਾਂ ਵੱਧ ਹੁਨਦੀ ਹੈ॥ ਲਗ ਦਾ ਪਰਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਲੋਕ ਆਪਨੇ ਬੱਚੇਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਨੀ ਮਾਂ-ਬੋਲੀ ਸਿਖੋਣ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤਾ ਸੌਜਣਾ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀ ਸਮਝ ਦੇ? ਪਰ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਭੁਲੇਕਾ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੱਕ ਹੈ ਵੀ ਇੰਗਲੈਂਡ ਤੇ ਕਨੇਡਾ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ, ਜੇ ਅਸੀਂ ‘ਹੋਮ-ਗ੍ਰੋਨ੍ਹ’ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਪੰਜਾਬੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ (ਮਤਲਬ ਬੋਲਣ ਤੇ ਪੜ੍ਹਣ ਦੇ ਪੱਧਰੇ) ਦਾ ਟਾਕਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਉਹ 2 ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੱਧਰਾਂ (ਮਤਲਬ ਲੈਵਲਾਂ) ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਫੀ ਫਰਕ ਦਿਸੂ॥ ਜੇ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਹਕੀਕਤ ਹੋਵੇ, ਫੇਰ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਕੀ ਹੈ? ਜਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਕਨੇਡੀਅਨ ਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿੱਸ਼ ਮਾਂਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਬਾਪੂਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਖਾਸ ਫਰਕ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਪਰਭਾਵ ਕਨੇਡੀਅਨ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਦਰਜਾ ਉਚੀ ਰੱਖ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਜਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਕਨੇਡਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਸਿਖੋਣ ਦਾ ਇੰਤਜ਼ਾਮ ਬ੍ਰਿੱਟਨ ਤੋਂ ਜਿਆਦਾ ਵਧੀਆ ਹੈ? ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਕੀ ਖ਼ਿਆਲ?
