Superiority Complex?

What is the source of Superiority complex? Also a Self-righteousness or a 'holier then thou'? Why do we exhibit what we may class as ego when we have social groups or an alpha male figure or a leader? Do we need this for someone to lead the way with a higher set of morals or do we state such a person can't pursue such morals. Like we have people who claim they are sants and leading the way for the rest of us who are sinners, are we not all not supposed to be perfect.

How about "narcissism" often means egoism, vanity, conceit, or simple selfishness.

I cant answer your question directly, but there is a new documentry on BBC now: How God made the English. (maybe on iplayer later on)

Very interesting take on finding out why the British or rather more accurately the English were able to achieve so much in their history. SImply put they had superiority complex based on the Bible and the the English are the new Chosen People!

Dalsingh should find it interesting.

Watching it now and I can see how such a mindset can help groups of people/society/cultural group move ahead in the world , including the Sikh nation.

Nice one for the heads up. Will try and catch it soon, though to be honest I really have to ask whether such programmes are essentially 'excuses'.

Thing we have to remember is that Rabh made the world cyclic. So the superiority complex thing is exactly like a drug high, inevitably it will wear off, time and it's inherent change makes this a certainty. Then people usually have to pay for their previous haughtiness/excesses. Those who were deemed inferior rise, those who imagined themselves as something superior decline.

Karma baby!

From a Sikh perspective - what is it other than out and out haumai and ahankar?
