Where is Nij Pad explained.

Ang 1159

I focus my meditation on my inner self, deep within.
nij pad (behind between the eyes) oopar laago Dhi-aan.

The Name of the Sovereign Lord is my spiritual wisdom. Pause
raajaa raam naam moraa barahm gi-aan. rahaa-o.

In the first chakra, the root chakra, I have grasped the reins and tied them.
mool du-aarai banDhi-aa banDh.

I have firmly placed the moon above the sun.
rav oopar geh raakhi-aa chand.

The sun blazes forth at the western gate.
pachham du-aarai sooraj tapai.

Through the central channel of the Shushmanaa, it rises up above my head.
mayr dand sir oopar basai.

There is a stone at that western gate,
pascham du-aaray kee sil orh.

and above that stone, is another window.
tih sil oopar khirhkee a-or.

Above that window is the Tenth Gate.
khirhkee oopar dasvaa du-aar.

Says Kabeer, it has no end or limitation.
kahi kabeer taa kaa ant na paar.

Thanks Bhai Sahib for this wonderful share..

Allow me to share a link to a video of Bhai Bahadur Singh - who Giani Sant Singh Maskeen in his katha described as a Brahmgiani he knew - wherein he describes the process of how to meet the creator - which is the ultimate aim of all of us.

regarding sat1176 link, in which bhai sahib describes focsing on the nij padh between the eyes about a quarter inch inside, he specifically mentions not to "kich ke dyan" which I translate as forcibly applying dhyan, he describes an alternative method of focusing on nij padh which I could not understand in the video. Could anyone clarify?

Thanks

He says don't strain yourself trying to create a bindu (spot). Put your dhyan gently there 3/4 inch or 2cm behind and between the eyes. A subtle light should appear around your eyes region.

Other than this clip, ive watched a few other clips on youtube of this babaji. Everything he says is from the Gurbani however he seems to mostly talk about not saying anything, instead just having dhiyaan of waheguru. So no chanting of gurmantar needed, just concentrate and think of Waheguru instead. Maybe I have understood or interpreted incorrectly but that is how it came across to me

If you listen to his current videos which are all from the time when he was in his 90s that is the impression you would get but the background is that before he would go to the gurdwara at 3 am every day for prakash he would do 30 minutes plus of gurmantar jaaap at home (ref Maskeen jis audios on his background) and then continually all day recite a tuk from guru granth sahib even while at work...over a period of 9 years he did the paath of Guru Granth Sahib once - but his focus was always on 'following' (i.e kamaooing) the bani rather than just reading it - which most of us do and that too in a hurry...the purpose of the gurmantar is also to connect with the creator...its an initial step on the paath but whether it is the final step as well I dont know...still learning

Another interesting link i came across from Yogananda Paramahansa book -

http://yogananda.com.au/py_talks/astral_world01.html#top

Are their astral worlds or they are traps as same as earth.

Seems like after earth you must go on further planes.

And in those plane we have some other ways to get enlightened 😂.

These stories are interesting.

Would like to hear thoughts from you people on this post and even on the post life is dream.

I want progress in my journey further as who knows what will be you in your next birth or reincarnation so i want to devote my life to meditation.

They are all traps bro. There are thousands of worlds out there. Paataala paatal lakh agaasa aagaas orak orak bhaal thake.. Keep on searching and getting tired. The only parmeshwar is sarab vyaapak-  omnipresent. Why waste time in searching Astral worlds when we can feel him as close as our eyes

Every other thing apart from only one Him is a trap.

One does not get spiritually enlightened at particular planes, it is with our constant association with the Truth of Nam, through simran that we get enlightened throughly.

Do not expect much, only wish strongly to be able to receive His meher/kirpa in order to merge in Him, for until He Himself pulls us out, and we hold on tightly to Him only, with love and devotion,  we can never ever acheive anything, in terms of our union with Him.

WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH

I would just like to clarify that the sehaj dhun, i.e the high frequency sound in your ears is actually shabad and you must listen to it. it is 1 shabad out of the 5 shabads. Some people might say not to listen it but you will observe that it will become loud sometimes indicating that waheguru ji wants us to listen to it.

Also aim of waheguru simran is first getting rid of thoughts, and going into sehaj while listening to sehaj dhun.Going into sehaj is what we call sleeping.some people recommend don't sleep when doing gurmantar and to actually fight sleep, but you cannot go to the other plane without leaving this body.

Also the path to meet waheguru ji is a path of love and not of hard work or knowledge. With love do gurmantar and with love listen to sehaj dhun. With such love only will we be able to meet waheguru ji.

This is the knowledge i gained while staying at gurmat meditation , run by dharamjit singh ji.There are many people doing prachaar but they have not met  Waheguru Ji themselves. You must be careful while taking advice and match it from guru Granth Sahib JI.

Bravo Guest Prabhtej Jee.

In your quote above in black, is in fact the simplest secret of God realization, if only any such lover of His could apply it practically in their daily lives.

I don't agree with this message people are getting from somewhere that you should fall asleep.

Sunn is the space between sleep and wake, it's not the same as sleep.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

As per my understanding , when you feel sleepy you must sleep but do it by listening to the shabad and then waheguru ji will wake you in sunn. You cannot force it by trying to resist sleep. You will go into semi sleep through sehaj dhun. What we call sleep is actually sehaj.

Like Guru Granth Sahib Ji is saying that everyone wants sehaj but we can get sehaj only through shabad as per the last line.

Nice discussion ! And a very important one indeed cos most of us face this during our journey towards bhakti.

I even created a separate thread  on sleep during meditation a year back I guess. Now what I have realised is ( I stand to be corrected- that there is

a very thin line between sunn and sleep. Since childhood we have been made acquainted with sleep but never knew or heard what sunn is...

Sunn is a state of being. They also call it awareness but we often mix it with sleep. When we say i have no idea where i was for those many hours- thst is we were probably thoughtless. That's good news <img src="> cos that's sunn. All those hours get counted in our bhakti.

The only way that i have realised till now to differentiate is follow your progress. If your heart inside is happy even when things are bad or worse outside. You are on the right track. I myself feel dancing inside on the tones of scolding from my elders 🤪 when you start doubting your own sanity sometimes. Its funny but true,!

Just ask yourself when you wake up from that state where you were and if the answer is you really don't know then that's good but if there were thoughts -  that was harchandauri maya so keep walking... And praying for him to help you as we are all his children.. and tend to fall ....

@Lucky veeeji pls comment. Where are you 😶

Sehaj means stability. Sehaj shun means stability in shabad.

Sunn is not sleep, it is a place before sleep.

Saying that sleep is sehaj doesn't any sense.

I haven't watched the video and I don't intend to, however the only benefit of the doubt I can give the author based on what  I've read from you is that sunn can be mistaken for sleep by the uninitiated, which may be what he meant.

Been keeping busy and not had much time to come on here.

@Mooorakh ji, Yes I like the way your approach is. It's an extremely fine line between sleep and sunn whilst in bed at night. You only really know 'after' you come out of the state of whether you were there or not.  However, there are also many dream states -or what we may think are supna- that are actually planes/avsasthas of where we are completely jagat.
