str8_desified Posted September 1, 2003 Report Share Posted September 1, 2003 A new game console called the Phantom was unveiled recently. phantom website Here's some specs: Custom OS on Windows XPe kernel Up to 3.0 GHz processor with 256MB DDR RAM High-performance nVidia video card High-performance Intel motherboard Dolby Digital 7.1 Surround Sound 100+ Gigabyte internal storage device Onboard RF wireless modules S-Video, RCA or component video and PAL connections 10/100 baseT Ethernet Wireless controller Wireless keyboard and mouse Two USB ports Four controller ports 12-foot port extension cable its different in that all games will need to be downloaded through a broadband connection.....which means NO cd/dvd's to put in. I've got mixed feeling about its potential though because it is not cheap....you've gotta pay for broadband + phantom's own proprietory network and its gonna be $300-400 (all other next gen systems are below 200).
