Why was his son still illiterate after spending months with a priest? He should have looked into this matter seriously, but he did not. Likewise, in this Charitar, the Shah should have done some sort of background check on the Sheikh, before engaging in any financial business with him. The gist of the story is a man of one of the highest religious caste who presents himself to the people as an aristocrat - one of the highest secular classes. He manages to fool both the people through his welfare work but also the king. He is doing good charitable work but in order to blind and fool people. I think the charitar deals with people who are engaged in good deeds but Only so to pave the way for later fraud. That's the main thing I saw as well. Getting others to take a person into their confidence by displaying a notion of wealth/trust.
