Bhul chuk maaf The problem is we dont know anyone's inner state. If we do know their inner state then its alright to use the title because your speaking the truth. We shouldn't get emotional and start exaggerating and boosting people's ego by giving them titles based on our ignorance. Should Sampradas develop an objective criteria on who is a sant? Even if you end up calling (for any reason) any decent person (who is not a Brahamgyani) a Sant, it is not a big deal as long as he is following the basic Rehat Maryada and is not involved in any evil/criminal activities.
