Guest jee,

below are some inspiring sat bachans from the Bani.

sarab niDhaan naam har har kai jis karam likhi-aa tin paavaa.
All treasures are in the Name of the Lord, Har, Har; he alone obtains it, who has it written in his karma.

* Also , if you wish to stay at His lotus Feet, keep His name in your mind at all times, this will automatically keep your head at His charan kamal.

In fact, Sachay Patshah is nothing physical, yet by repeating His holy name devotedly, it is like staying at His holy lotus Feet.

Receiving Amrit, means becoming aware of establishing a loving and a faithful relationship with Him at all times, and this Bro, can only be done through the repetition of His holy amritful Name

God bless you.

Wjkk wjkf veer ji. Dass has not amrit yet but before taking amrit its best to start at least the basic 7 banis. Try to have a shower bath everyday and also step by step try to wake up at amritvela.

Its a really good step you are taking to take amrit. Rest just do ardas and Guru Sahib Ji will do kirpa on you.

Veer ji you can take amrit from any where where there is a amrit sancher. If there is a specific maryada you wish to follow then you can amrit from them. But try to look at this way that amrit is amrit and it shouldn't be divided by marayada.

Guest Shaheed Jee,

as brother Souldfinder has perfectly said:  amrit is amrit and it shouldn't be divided by marayada.

So there is hardly anything to be added, but just to confirm that it is a fair and a practical answer, thus agreed with it.

Cause, the Panj Pyare are just intermediators, are just witness of you seeking Him and to love Him for the sake of loving Him. That is it.

After all in the end, the reality  is that only we, each one of us as individual souls and Him is what remains, and counts.

Then too, I would just add: Trust Waheguru with all your heart, do not depend much on your own understanding, seek His will in all what you do, and He will show you the path to take.

Bro, the basic Rehat is the same.

  • Avoid the 4 cardinal sins (the 4 H's)
  • Fight the 10 Vikars (Kaam, Krodh, Lobh, etc)
  • Adopt the positive virtues (Sat, Daya, Santokh, Dharam, Bibek, etc)
  • Engage in selfless service of Humanity and the Panth
  • Earn an honest and a truthful living.
  • Try to be an excellent human being
  • Read the 5 Gurbanis at Amritvela, Sri Rehraas at evening, Sri Sohila before sleeping, etc
  • Give 10% of your net income in Charity
  • Pray/meditate for at least 2.5 hrs daily. Do more if you can.
  • So on......

Three more things(as mentioned by Bhai saab Bhai Gurdas jee), which a Sikh must engage in:

  • Naam - Meditation, Prayers, Katha, Kirtan, etc.
  • Daan - Charity work, Selfless service of humanity, etc.
  • Ishnaan - Purity of the body and the mind.

What does "Raag" refer to in the above list? Does anyone know?

Thanks

Well, the only explanation for me according to the definition beside the word "Raag" above, I think, it means not to limit our love to a certain number of things, such as relations, properties, wealth  and so on, but to let it flow  in a wider range, or call it universal, covering all of His creation, for in all does He reside.

Our limited extension of love, makes us bound by "moh", which in the end is also a reason for our sufferings.

Does not the Bani say: Kis naal keejay dostee sabh jag chalan haar.

Our attachment (love with limitations)with the temporary and perishable, keeps us prisoners in the mayavee creation.

But that same love, if directed to the One eternal and changeless Truth Waheguru, will unfold His same virtues in us, such as grace, mercy towards all without any reservations or distinctions, and will be the cause to be receptive to His kirpa, and thus be drawn to His Lotus feet for once and ever.

What would "Pride of Raag" indicate then? Maybe taking Pride in your loved ones/things?

Bro paapiman,

as per your question above, and in the context given by you in your post of 23rd March 2021 : Raag= Love with Partiality, I would say it means, one being proud of one´s limited view of love as whole, whether conscioussly or unconscioussly.

It could well be also an expression of  subtle ego.

As I usually say, if ever one wants to know how much right or wrong one can be, the only valid source of true wisdom to discern correctly, is to check what with Gurbani oneself.

Not to see what others say or do and copy them, because not all are at the same spiritual heights, but yes, Gurbani is the same changeless Truth for all, because the authors of/in  Gurbani are perfect by themselves.

Brother Guest Shaheed Jee,

whatever you are experiencing, take it as  His apaar kirpa on you.

Please continue with your spiritual practices,  and see what more Sachay Patshah can has in store to bless you with.

Plus, you are a inspiring example for all of us, that if one is sincere in one´s bhakti without any calculations, He can never ever withold Himself to shower His apaar kirpa on us.

So glad for you.

Stay firm at all times in His bhakti come whatsoever may come, for this is the only true wealth which we will take with us while departing from this plane.

Stay blessed.

Wjkk wjkf veer ji its amazing that you have mentioned this amazing experience as its mahaan kirpa of guru sahib ji that you have and are a inspiration for fallen paapis like myself who hasn't got any kamai of simran bhagati.

Its ok that you have made posts on here describing your amazing experience but try to stay quiet about this kirpa as gupt as much as you can especially when talking to other people. As having kirpa like its best to stay as much gupt as you can as from personal experience dass has my rise and fall when i say to anyone that i did this bani paath jaap then the next day i feel no buzz or ras as i feel its gone due to me talking about it.

Its really good veer ji as you are on the right path as you have taken amrit and are blessed. Dass would say to keep doing simran the method you are currently following then hopefully you will have anand shabad dasam daur simran stage which i hope you reach very soon.
