Nanak builds his house upon that site where there is no death, no birth, and no old age. ||4||6||76||

Here Guru Sahib is talking about death or the greatness of Guru Nanak Dev Ji?

Trimandeep Singh

It is talking about death AND the greatness of Sri Satguru jee (First Master).

The grieving family can possibly take solace from that line.

What? What message does it give about death?

It means one who gets the True Guru gets a spot in that place where there is no spiritual death (no vikaars) and no cycle of 84 Lakh Joons.

What is it saying About death?

And what message is it giving about death?

It just says there is no death in realm of truth, Sachkhand.

Leave that verse for the time being,

Did you read the RAHAO verses?

The RAHAO verses contain the primary message of the Shabad.

Are you telling me that the above verses are NOT relevant at a funeral?

It is saying without the One Almighty Lord, the world remains in entanglements and this 'Moh of Maaya' is false.

Yes, you are right and that's why it IS POSSIBLY relevant at a funeral.

People grieve because of MOH. This SHABAD is giving instruction to them to abandon MOH (of the dead one) and to connect your consciousness to the ONE UNIVERSAL CREATOR.

Anyways, the above is to answer your question.

In conclusion,

Neither should one (as an ordinary person) recite SRI AHLAANIYAAN SAAB at a birthday celebration of a person NOR should you recite LAKH KHUSHIAAN wala Shabad at the funeral of a person.

It is mention in various rehetnaames that Rehras Sahib is sandhya vele da paath and sandhya vela peher is 6 to 9pm, therefore paath should be done at that time but if you miss it then doing it afterwards before midnight is no problem just the time for path is sandhya wela like time for asa jee di vaar is amrit vela.
