One Caesar was actually popular mainly because he did reforms to help the poor which the senate didn't do. Two the Senate made him a tyrant they voted to make him dictator for more time and gave him all the powers. Was he a horrible person yes I suppose through the eyes of modern morales but the past was a different world.
