"uth naam simran lai bhai...chiriyah (birds) bol paiya...tenu sutheya jaag na ayai...chiriyah bol paiya" its callin sikhs 2 wake up 2 do simran @ amrit vela... my spellin n so mite b wrong...but hopefully sum1 will b able 2 help! or cud u suggest ne sites where i can d/l kirtan frm? 0 Quote

Guest BikramjitSingh Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 Jas The dharmik geet that you are referring to seems to sound like one that either Bhai Chaman Singh Lal or Bhai Harbans Singh Jagadhariwale would sing. btw are any of the other members getting tired of the same old Dharmik geets being regurgitated and a few lines being changed. The best one that has been done to death is Amritsar wal jandiya rahiya weh.. now you get.. Hemkunt wal jandiya rahiya weh.. someone else has done.. Nanaksar wal jandiya rahiya weh.. etc etc. The original dharmik geet was actually Nankana wal jandiya rahiya weh .. which was composed in the 1920's as a tribute to the Sikh martyrs who gave their lives to liberate Nankana Sahib from the Mahants.
