I know historically that a Sikh raj contemporary artist, Auguste Schoeft (incidentally my favorite of the period), was attacked and nearly killed by nihangs in Harmandir Sahib because they thought he was smoking whilst painting Darbar Sahib (he claims he was just holding his paint brushes in his mouth??). He only just survived, and if he didn't duck out, he'd have been brown bread. I'm in a different boat right now, because maybe some friends way back in the past were attacked by people and responded ably and seriously hurt the other side. Or they were miles ahead of the curve in facing up to the grooming going on that certain communities were denying.
