ਜਮਦਾਢ probably means ਜਮਦਾੜ੍ਹ.

Below meaning is from the Mahan Kosh.

ਜਮਦਾੜ੍ਹ 

ਸੰ. ਯਮਦੰਸ੍ਟ੍ਰਾ. ਸੰਗ੍ਯਾ- ਕਟਾਰ, ਜੋ ਯਮ ਦੀ ਦਾੜ੍ਹ ਜੇਹਾ ਹੈ। ੨. ਬਿਛੂਆ. ਖ਼ਮਦਾਰ ਨੋਕ ਵਾਲਾ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਬਜ। ੩. ਦੋ ਮੂੰਹਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਕਟਾਰ. ਦੇਖੋ, ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ.

You r right. Had a talk with a local Singh in ludhiana who makes excellent shastars.

Jamdaarr is a name for kataar as well as the shastar in the original post.

Dasmesh Pita got a jamdarr made which is still on display in Anandpur Sahib. It is slightly bent compared to the jamdarr in my original first post.

I hv asked this Singh to make one for me and will post its picture once I get it.

I was also told by this Singh that jamdaarr(the one in original post and not kataar) was a very powerful weapon which was used by Singhs to break the iron armour or iron hat worn on the top of the head.
