Had a talk with a local Singh in ludhiana who makes excellent shastars. Jamdaarr is a name for kataar as well as the shastar in the original post. Dasmesh Pita got a jamdarr made which is still on display in Anandpur Sahib. It is slightly bent compared to the jamdarr in my original first post.
