I think you're grabbing the wrong end of the stick. 

 

Look, as a Sikh, I realise that my community is not as predictable or even controllable as some other more conservative ones. I still think we've been like lightening rods for lots of dark forces for centuries (like fundamentalist islam and white supremacist colonialism) and having survived that, are only just starting to come into our own. I know we are strong, but also relatively underdeveloped right now. I might have my own ideas of where we should be trying to head, but I know no one man will really be in control of that. I also know certain pendu characteristics of the panth will (sadly in my opinion) have some effect on things. 

We'll see what unfolds. Ultimately, I hope it is for the greater good and inline with Sikh values.    Where are you btw? The west coast?

I agree, but I also expect some of these people will collude with brits to try and make Sikh lives difficult too, especially active Sikhs, or Sikhs who challenge the established narratives from these groups.

No it isn't. We've been infiltrated by people who have more of a sense of loyalty to their caste and nonSikh culture over the welfare of the panth. But we're working on that. Plus those people you speak of are fully supported and covered up by a corrupt legal system and successive governments. 

PS - I don't want to continue the discussion but you keep bringing up related matters. This is a Sikh forum, so you shouldn't be surprised if some Sikhs give you a response from their perspective.

Exactly! same issue we had whilst fighting the moghuls and the British internal enemies people who open the gates of the fort 

numbers don’t always show the complexity of the situation 

people talk about Aurangzeb and the moghuls but did you know the vast majority of top generals, soldiers, administrators under Aurangzeb were actually Hindus 

People talk about the British but did you know the vast majority of soldiers, admin, generals were native?

I don't know what we are arguing about now? I agree with your analysis of the subcontinents 'weak links'. I don't thinks it is complex or nuanced at all.  

Maybe the simple truth is that we have more chaaploose, sycophantic opportunists, ready to subordinate themselves to outsiders for their and their families prosperity, than those who have a truly sovereign mindset and revolt at the idea of servitude. Juts (whether they like it or not) were specifically identified by the brits as being particularly docile and predispositioned for subordinate positions (as well as being of lower intelligence),  hence their 'favoured' position during colonialism. 

If you look at what has been happening in afghanistan over the last few decades, look at how persistently and ruthlessly the taliban there annihilated perceived collaborators (i.e. blowing people up who were looking to join the coalitions police force and army at the expense of their own fighters). Also how they infiltrated those orgs as well. Probably played a big part in their eventual military success. Our lot had (for example) our own lot being prison guards for their very own freedom fighters - like Bhagat Singh.

I don't think anything happens without Waheguru's kirpa and sahai, and the way a lot of us have gone on.......and still go on.....

 Time will tell. Suffice to say, personally I don't think anything is worth saving or fighting for, if it doesn't serve to protect, project and develop Sikh/Khalsa ethics/values.

I think hindus are blind on that one (as are many Sikhs), the truth is that paks and brits are part and parcel of the same thing. brits actually created them. You can't one without fighting the other - just like combating grooming in the uk has shown.

India’s Minister of Science and Technology Dr Jitendra Singh visited Imperial to meet researchers and students 

and strengthen ties with India.

The Minister, accompanied by Professor Ajay Kumar Sood, Principle Scientific Advisor to the Government of India, and other scientists and officials, visited Imperial’s labs and heard about Imperial's growing research collaborations with India.

The Indian Minister of Science and Technology met some of Imperial's Indian students and researchers

The Minister also met with some of Imperial's Indian students and scholars and encouraged them to reach their potential. He also highlighted the rapid progress science in India was making in a number of fields and the growth of Indian startups. 

 

Professor Mary Ryan, Vice Provost (Research and Enterprise) at Imperial College London, said: “We’re incredibly proud of our longstanding connections with India.

"We are privileged to host just over 800 talented and highly entrepreneurial students from India. Imperial is also home to a thriving community of researchers and staff with connections to India.

"Our academics collaborate with a range of partners in India, as well as our incredible alumni community, to tackle shared health and climate challenges such as the transition to clean energy, antimicrobial resistance, and infectious disease." 

New scholarship programme for Indian students

During the visit Imperial announced a new scholarship programme for students in India

During the visit Imperial announced that it was creating a new scholarship programme for Indian Masters students.

The 'Future Leaders Scholarship' programme will support 30 students over the next three years with half of the scholarships reserved for female scholars. The scholarships will be for students in MSc programmes across Imperial's Faculties of Engineering, Natural Sciences, Medicine and the Business School.

Professor Peter Haynes, Vice-Provost (Education and Student Experience) at Imperial, said: “It is a real priority for Imperial to continue to facilitate and support two-way mobility between India and the UK.

"I hope that we are able to welcome even more students from India in the future and I am very pleased to announce that Imperial is investing just over £400,000 in scholarships for the future STEM-B leaders of India. The investment will see the launch of 30 merit-based scholarships over the next three years, with the first application round opening next academic year. 

“At least 50 per cent of these prestigious ‘Future Leaders’ scholarships will be reserved for female scholars. I hope that we can continue to work together to build upon our success and that Imperial can be at the fore of supporting UK-India partnerships in the coming decade.”

Imperial also announced a new partnership with Chevening for scholars from India. Funding will be available for scholars who demonstrate the greatest potential to become leaders, decision-makers and opinion-formers in India. The Chevening scholarship award will support academic fees and provide a monthly stipend.

Good stuff this is what I like to see! There is some amazing things going on all under the radar especially with the UK and India.

Chinese students are bright also but they have limited English skills and are widely considered to be tools of the communist party or even spies. 
 

Hence, you won’t see them running big business or in sensitive positions. I’m talking about the China born students. 
 

The benefits of valuing education, being multilingual and cross culturally competent!

Ahh it’s actually an intriguing Hollywood film. 
 

It follows the life of Ramanuja ( I believe Calcutta born scientist or mathematician) in the early 1900s. I believe he was a dropout or too poor to go to school but had a unique quality. He said while he sleeps the goddess gives him numbers in his dreams. He just writes them down. 
 

He sends those formulas and numbers to Cambridge I believe. At first they laughed then realized he just discovered something huge.
