Just ask yourself how many sikh girls do you know that are checking a muslim - you will soon realise the extent of the dangerous situation we are facing! If you convert one woman, not only do you convert her, you convert all her future generations that she will give birth to!!! Guru Nanak Dev Ji - Quoted to say why dis-respect women - from whom Kings and saints are born - Guru Gobind Singh Ji - made sikh women Princess's by giving them the name Kaur! Just look at the fact that sikhi is based on practicality - both women and men are given the same status. 2)Bollywood films - do i need to say anymore - media is a very strong influence on any community especially youngsters. just look at the way the bollywood films are portraying sikhs as a whole - just look at any film and you will see that the Fake singh - is a) either a bad person a complete joker c) a drunk d)or a taxi/truck driver. Its a shame that the country we come from portrays sikhs as criminals and jokers. especially after the fact more sikhs have died for india then any other community including muslims and Hindus. what takes the mick even more is that the producers of these films are Hindus and Guru Tegh Bahadur gave his life to protect their religion - this is how they repay us!! what a shame! 3)Gurdwaras based on caste! how silly is this! because our religion was based on a casteless society!!!! and we have ramgharia. rada sawami, ravi dass, NAKLI nirinkaris as gurdwara's?? what the?????? 4) 30,000 sikhs young and old, men and women - were brutally massacred in 1984 in the delhi anti-sikh riots - thousands of sikhs were burnt alive - thousands of sikh women were gang raped in front of their families! 5) 200,000 young sikh men have been tortured to death since operation bluestar by the indian government. Excellent post dude. But as far as i know radha soami's are not even Sikhs. They may repesct Sikhi and go to the gurdwara, but their path is different to that of Sikhs. I don't know if the same goes for ravi dass ppl. Nirankari's aren't a cast, their a bunch of toss pots if history is correct. Your right abt 'Ramgharia' gurdware though, although hopefully their commitee members may be able to give an explanation as to why this is the case. I have my own theories on why so many girls get converted. I think that its because theres too much disunity between amritdharees and those Sikhs that aren't that religious. Both camps are completely seperate from each other allowing feelings of resentment towards each other to rise. lil_princess Posted January 9, 2004 Report Share Posted January 9, 2004 again i don't want to get involved with this converting thing again... but i JUST want to be the other person against all of u! lol (j/k) i think RELIGION is a choice and understanding, one should except anything, right? isn't a sikh that CHOOSES to be a sikh a better sikh, if a GIRL or EVEN A MEN, YES OMG MEN CAN CONVERT< NOT ONLY THE LIL GIRLS, itz like all of u guyz are trying to be the big tuff brother trying to say omg our girlz, our kuriz are converting, like girls don't have a brain or sumthin, OR maybe they do and its PEEPZ fault for not converting, i don't think this should be a problem, accept other peoples choices and respect them for it, don't cause chaos over conversion... so we lost some, but we gain some! and therez brains between those two girl's ears... and i know u ain't targeting to other people, but its the girl's choice, and we can't be ignorant and appauled by it, so she doesn't want to be a sikh, well its her CHOICE and well if u ask me, if she doesn't want to be a sikh, she obviously doesn't know her religion, again i agree i have no idea of the situation of UK, but i heard the stories.... and u might think i don't understand, but i think i do.... u don't think other religions that have members of the community convert to sikhism have these situations as well?? it doesn't matter, let the person be damn happy! one ps.
