PHP is cool and easy... :D

Very easy to install... there is another thread in this forum (sikh tech zone) discussing PHP and you can download EasyPHP 1.7 from that thread which makes it possible to have dummy forum on your stand alone PC. I have installed it on my PC and its really a big step for learning PHP enabled website...

But for that you need to have some basic first hand knowledge... Moreover here is truthsingh to help you out on php... and ME TOO... ;)

Have funnnnnnnnnnnnnn !!!

Try this site for all of your php questions. www.phpbuilder.com and you will get anwser for all of your questions. If you want to create your own database driven website then I will recommend this book. I have created my work intranet php/mysql website on which people log their daily activity and other users can login and access it. Here is the book and its best take my word. http://www.sitepoint.com/books/phpmysql1/

Hi, in regards to that book. It costs 35 bucks, umm do you have the pdf of it?

Veer ji i have Plenty of php and mysql books in PDF format. So just add me to ur msn and i will send u the file through that. Either that or can u give me some ftp or some webspace details where i can upload the file, as i dont have any space.

I have the following books

Professional PHP programming

Php Manual

MySql-Php

and some others

But Php isnt the language to learn. The future of Webdevelopment is ASP.net.

Oh Thanx Amardeep Paaji for php manuals...:D, I was looking for one... thanx...

Have a look at the following links:

1. http://www.asp.net/migrationassistants/php...index=0&tabid=1

2. http://www.asp.net/migrationassistants/Get...PHPtoASPNET.htm

Download the PHP to ASP.NET Migration Assistant Beta

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The PHP to ASP.NET Migration Assistant is designed to help you convert PHP pages and applications to ASP.NET. It does not make the conversion process completely automatic, but it will speed up your project by automating some of the steps required for migration.

 One question : Can ASP.NET be run on Windows Me or 98 just like php can be tested on a standalone PC even on Me or 98 with the help of softwares like easyPHP etc ?

well ASP.net only works on windows 2000, xp, or above. on windows 98 you can download and install the .net redistributables but cant install IIS. win 98 supports pws. IIS is a requirement for asp.net i think so the answer is that asp.net will not work on windows 98.

As for where do u start to learn any language , well the main thing is to learn the basic syntax first. If you start downloading existing forum scripts and other people's work and mess around with it, chances are that you will get confused. So the first thing to do is learn the simple stuff then go on the complecated one.

And if u get stuck then i am always here

I feel that these ebooks are a waste of time, its hard reading stuff from the computer. The best way to learn is to go through online tutorials and try them out practically.

Apologies for being too critical of php.Right now i am writing a encyclopedia system in php+ Mysql. Even though i still prefere ASP.net, but php has some advantages, Speed for one.

MySql is extremly cool :D.

Php is gaining my respect but it needs a better IDE before i start using it to the max.

Anyways enough of my Rambling, i downloaded lot more PHP, ASP.net , PhotoShop books, if anyone is interested, just catch me on msn and u can download them from my computer.
