This is a photo of Gayatri Muni Bapu, an Udasin sadhvi

I contacted the photographer, Dolf Hartsuiker, who stated that she was based at the Udasin Akhara at Girinar in Gujrat. He has since returned 3 or 4 times at not seen her there.

Girinar is a very important pilgrimage spot for Jains (and also Nath yogis, Mata ji devotees and for Udasis). The volcanic hill is near Junagarh. The Udasi Akhara is at the foot of the hill, and was set up to commerate Guru Nanak Dev's visit here on one of his udasis with Bhai Mardana. Earlier he had debated with a jain nun in Wadhan which is near Surendranagar (inland from Junagarh. At Girinar, Guru ji's footprint is on Dattatreya Hill. An Udasi sits looking after the Kamandal Kund, giving water to pilgrims ascending the hill.
