Just wana say thanks to all those who came to the Kirtan!!! It was seriously amazing.... and the place looked and felt like camp!! If you stayed til the end and saw the camp video's.. they were really funny!! and YES... we almost started ONTIME!!.. 7pm isn't bad!!! finished at 2.30pm.. :-)

What is "Sikhs In Journalism"? "Sikhs In Journalism" (SIJ) is a new mentoring scheme for students from the Sikh community. The objective of the scheme is to encourage Sikh students to actively explore careers in journalism and print media. Careers to which Sikhs have traditionally not taken to in the UK! Successful applicants to the scheme will: - Attend a series of one-day workshops and field visits through the year. - Research and write a variety of articles inorder to develop their potfolio. - Be given feedback and critique of their articles. - Gain hands on experience of the research and editing process. - Have access to some of the most talented journalists and writers within the industry. UNITED SIKHS URGENTLY requires volunteers to make a difference in relief efforts in the City of New Orleans (USA). Thousands are expected dead and the entire city of New Orleans is under water, amongst other cities, after Hurricane Katrina hit the south-eastern United States in what is being called one of the worst and most expensive natural disasters in American history. The police, armed guards, and medical professionals are struggling to provide essential services with hundreds of thousands of people homeless, displaced and or injured. UNITED SIKHS has started the GHANAIA Katrina Hurricane Relief project and is working together with US authorities to gather resources and build a team of volunteers, including medical professionals, who will aid the refugees in Louisiana.
