.what are some tips to become celibate?

    .what are its spiritual benefits?

    .what are its side effects?

.some say celibacy makes you store more energy and is good for meditation while some doctors say celibacy makes you less of a man..and it weakens your sexual energy on ling term..please enlighten me on this topic

  2. Bilkul ji..i am sorry.i not at all meant to offend you..maybe i couldnt write what i wanted to say.i didnt mean that we should end this topic here.what i meant to say was that it will stay a matter of debate .we can be fully satisfied with the answer of 'what is shabad guru' only by our inner experience by his grace..now some radhaswamis say shabad guru is referred to as initial yogic sounds heard in meditation..some say shabad is the guru mantra..some say its the

sat shabad or naam which is shabad..i get confused some times and then i prepare myself to stop thinking about these topics and i should concentrate on japping naam (waheguru) and try to focus on it. I hope to get answers inside one day..i hope we all does

Good topic, i also like to post research on this by maharaj kirpa:

Here is my reseach based on research of old traditional gurmat approach. This approach does not take sanctity/deep theological meaning away from OM of hindu dharam or demean OM in anyway yet it will still maintain Ikongkar explain vahiguroo characteristic fully and is full mantra and provides full profound expereince of Vahiguroo ji both sargun and nirgun form.

First look at the similiarilities between ong/ongkar and om in fact ong and om are one and same its only nasal sound difference:

OM denotes rajo, tamo, sato- ard bindu- turiya avastha

Ong denotes rajo, tamo, sato - ardh bindu- turiya avastha

    Om denotes bhram, vishnu, shiv

Ong denotes bhram, vishnu, shiv (Ie Ongkar Bhrama Utpat || Jaap sahib)

From Om dhuni then whole world came-

From Ong(nasal sound difference between Ong and Om) whole world came-

Pirthame On(g)kar So Dhun Poran Jagat Mae Raha ||

Fist ongkar was recited and that resosance created world and give nourishment to this world. (Siri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Dasam Granth Sahib)

Now differences between Om and Ikongkar

OM mantar itself only talks about sargun, only ardh bindu in aum symbol gives indication of turiya avastha- awake thoughtless consciousness (chaitan) but does not explain intertwine relationship between nirgun and sargun

Whereas Ikongkar explains the full intertwine relationship between nirgun and sargun, it starts from nirgun immanent to sargun and then fold back itself in nirgun

Ik- Indicates Nirgun form/state of Vahiguroo. Vahiguroo is ONE no two only non dual ONE IK ...Ik advait chaitan bhram (Vahiguroo is one non dual supreme consciousness)

Ong- indicates sargun attributes(rajo, tamo, sato) immanent itself from shabad/creation... nirgun Vahiguroo roop

Kar (ardh bindu) - Kar intertwines/connects/bridge both sargun and nirgun state of Vahiguroo as ONE non dual/advait supreme consciouness- sargun is nirgun, nirgun is sargun- there is no difference....!!!!!!!!!

Hence, Ikongkar bij mantra provides full profound advait ekta of sargun nirgun of Vahiguroo whereas OM mantra falls slightly short providing seeker with full divine experience of intertwine harmonized/non dual relationship between sargun and nirgun form of Vahiguroo but with that being said, those who have recites om with full sharda/prem, will eventually perceive tat gyan of om mantra- turiya state- awaken thoughtless supreme consciousness state, they will eventually also reach enlightened/turiya state, as long one is connected to one aspect* especially if they are connected with supreme consciousness state of vahiguroo is one with Vahiguroo.

  4. I have had contacted ishwar puri ji many times regarding queries and experiences of meditation.specially regarding inner sounds..he have been very helpful .

I know this is a website regarding sikhism.but i think sikhism includes all concepts..it is very broad.we should view other religions positively in accordance with sikhism.ihave a read a hundred of books on sant mat and radha swami .though it has emerged from sikhism no doubt but these saints baba sawan singh and baba faqir chand(both are no more alive) were god realised saints..though i am no one to decide that but their knowledge and books speak jur like that of baba isher singh ji.faqir chand has so far given me the best ever explanation of naam

  5. Harsharan ji's post describes the answer quite well.

Let me also add that ALL the sounds and visions even, are part of the illusion...you are still in maya. it's stll trai-gun.

This doesn't mean that the naad you may be hearing and feeling is false, because this naad is still coming from that same source of sach-khand.....however, you are still wrapped in the illusion and the shabad is not fully manifest as the sehaj dhun in sach khand.

You will know when it's sehaj dhun or pure anhad bani because it will be pure para-bani coming drenched in amrit when waheguru reveals the Nijh ghar/sach-khand to you. At this stage you will see/feel/become with the Brahm jyot.....and ONLY then will you yourself be able to confirm that it is the purest, truest Anhad Bani you are hearing.

The sounds we can hear at early stages of different instruments..etc.. are all paon de shabad and related to the air/pavan. They change as you progress and so does the naad.

Initially the naad is intermittent but then gets clearer and more intense until it becomes 24hr.

In this part of the journey I think that it varies vastly for each and every one of us and according to our own gunas.

AT the same time you will get 'downloads' of knowledge, gyaan and understanding about 'Yourself''...and according to your own gunas.

We will often question to ourselves if the naad or sounds are genuine and true anhad. ... the answer is quite simple because if we are questioning, then we must surely be still be wrapped in the illusion more than being drenched in amrit rus/naam

When we experience the -brahm jyot- amrit- prakash,- anhad in it's purest and highest form in sachkhand..... only then, will you have no doubts and be able to confirm to your self. I'm sure you won't be questioning or doubting in any way.

Gurbani talks about these different levels of illusion including Gandarve Nagri, Mrig trishna, Maya Jaal...which is all part of kaal to stop and divert you. This occurs ALL the way up to the doorstep of waheguru's sacha mahal. And only until HE opens it and you get prakash are you out of kaal's boundary.
