  1. Dukaaln Parnaasee Diaalaan Saroope ॥ Salutation to Thee O Destroyer of hard times and Embodiment of Mercy Lord! Sadaa Aanga Saange Abhaangaan Bibhoote ॥3॥199॥ Salutation to thee O Ever present with all, Indestructible and Glorious Lord ! Sri Jaap Sahib - Satguru Gobind Singh Ji. There is some about the above tuk that gets to me. My recitation of Sri Jaap Sahib is not well, and besides the Gyatri Mantra in this bani, this tuk/shabad as well gets to me. It flow through me effortlessly. I love it. I would hope if anyone can provide me any gyan on this, and whether one can do Jap Tap on this mantra/shabad etc. What fruits come to fruition with this shabad. Whenever I randomly recite this, I can imagine a warrior dancing with his sword to the tune of this shabad with might and elegance. Thanks.
  2. Not really, you just need to be honest with yourself and with your Guru. For example, I'm gonna be honest, I don't seek to be a sant, or anything holy. If I am to be than so be it. But as of now I just seek a blissful life. All I know is I want to live by the guru mukhvaak as much as possible, being a practitioner of gurbani, as well as a practitioner of shastar vidya.
  3. To be honest. First and foremost, we are humans. We all have needs and desires. For most of us, we seek love, companionship, etc. In terms of financial wealth, we live in a capitalist society and with the way things are we seek financial security. I'm not a supporters of capitalism, but even I know as I live in a capitalist society I would need this to survive. Love, we all seek. That blissful union with someone we love etc. And well we wish to charm them with our attitude, persona, attract them with our inner and outer beauty. Maharaj themselves have spoken how beautiful a Gurmukh is when they are one with Paramatma.
  4. See, this is the thing. We need to know the context behind this. I'm not saying I would disagree, nor will I agree until we have a complete knowledge. No stones unturned.
  5. Yes, I'm thinking of reciting one ang per day (or whenever I can) but to also recite it correctly.
  6. Yes, with this sakhi's one would need to be a scholar to understand the complete history, language, cultural etc behind these sakhi, it's compilations and understanding of Gurmat to know what they mean. In terms of "charming the hearts of a women" may be in indication that reciting such mantra can help you find love etc. Like this mantra is cupids arrow. Of course we all look to Gurbani when we seek the boon of material objective such as money, trivial knowledge, love, etc.
  7. Yes, I have contemplated on this. Repetition and recite bani which is said in many different ways can ingrain itself in to our subconscious. But, to be honest, I have never read nor studies GGS enough to make any call or judgement.
  8. It's ok. I think though we should keep an open mind to such discussions whether we agree with others or not. Hence why I mentioned them in my first post of this thread.
  9. This is literally awesome. I love this "Ik Oankar Satgur Parsaad Degh Tegh Fateh"...I know Sri Maan Baba Deep Singh Ji had mool mantra on his armour.
  10. Thank you Paapiman. I actually have read this previously however I was a bit skeptical about it. I've never heard "Oong Satgur Parsaad Karta Purakh".
  11. Ok, I'm not gonna get lost in this. My question is simple. But, let me word this like so. What gyan is there behind "Ik Oankar Satigur Parsaad"? Can this be recited as a Jaap, if so, what virtues does it provide. It is simple as that.
  12. Yes, hence that's what I'm asking. I don't try to limit myself of such knowledge. Though this is the reason why I said "western kundalini yoga". It's not the traditional type as practiced by yogis in India.
  13. I was wondering if there is any gyan behind this manglacharan/mantra? I know for those who practice western Kundalini Yoga they see this mantra as a mantra to remove negative vibration and to create positive vibration. https://www.asanaguru.yoga/blog/kundalini-yoga-meditation What other gyan is their behind this mantra, and what about reciting it?
  14. So, yes. When we pronounce it. It should be pronounced as Satinaamu
  15. Do you mind explaining it to me. I don't understand.
  16. She may have noticed no one is responding. It sad this question was left in the air like this.
  17. Questions, How do you guys recite Satnaam jaap? Do you recite it as Satnaam? Or Satinaamu, or satinaam? Just curious as I've heard it read in the 2nd way, especially the spelling in GGS is spelt different compared to the above mentioned resource?
  18. I'm surprised no one has answered this. But, hey let me give it ago. Honestly, the fact that you don't believe in another religion is already the step you are taking to be away from it teaching. The same would be applied with any other Dharam, philosophy etc. When you don't accept it, you've pretty my rejected it and everything within its relation. Now, if you want to get back into sikhi, it's quite simple. Do simran, recite bani, do seva etc. There is nothing super special needed to be done to become a sikh. If you have faith in the teachings of sikhi etc you have consciously "reverted" back into sikhi. I'd also suggest to find and be in the company of sangat to help you to reconnect with sikhi. I hope this helps. I understand this answers may seem to read vague and simple, but it truly what it is. It's all about faith and belief.
  19. I actually agree and understand what you are saying. Definitely satisfied.
  20. I agree there. Maharaj has spoken to us the same things in many different ways. I believe it's more effective to show us the different aspects or perspectives of life and dharma.
  21. This is something that has crossed my mind. Yes, I agree that our mind has been conditioned with so much filth, that we would be needing to recondition it with something pure. But like I've mentioned to chatanga that we recite our nitnem everyday...isn't that enough.
  22. I understand where you're coming from, but we recite Gurbani (nitnem) everyday, and we are technically reciting the same bani everyday. Wouldn't that be enough? Also, would the Guru not have expanded further on their shabads.
  23. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Ji Ke Fateh. Before I begin I just wish to let sangat know (I'm guessing you already do) but I am ignorant of Gurbani. My knowledge is below limited, so hence why my question may sound remedial. Whenever I read a hukamnama or a random ang of Satguru Granth Sahib Ji, I always see that Maharaj repeats themselves again and again (praising parmatma, advising us to jaap naam, follow the guru etc). I'm just curious on why Maharaj repeats themselves so many times. I'm hoping if a gursikh could help me with this, or if anyone has any bachan's from a bhramgyani or mahapurakh that can help me with this curious thought. Thank you Inderpal
  24. Has there ever been a case when a Singh recites Dasam Bani more than Adi gurbani? What effects usually happens? Does the individual become more aggressive?
