  1. Hello!

Some months ago, I visited an Indian restaurant in a town near my village. The owner is a Sikh.

Last time I ate there I wanted to write something in the guestbook. Maybe a nice quote by Guru Nanak. Nothing sprang to my mind.

Do you know some nice Sikh quotes about eating? In Germany, there is a nice quote: Eating and drinking keeps body and soul together.

  2. You have it backwards. Europeans are not allowed to keep their hair or their foreskins for that matter. I am no European so do explain to me why they can't just live as God created them? Why dey b cuttin dem hair and genitals?

No, cutting the foreskin is a Jewish and Muslim practice.

In Europe, most men have shaved beards, and some have long beards. Most gentlemen shave their beards completely because a long beard gives you a wild appearance. You also look younger when you shave your beard.

  3. Hello!

First of all, I'm no Sikh.

When I saw a bust of Pythagoras I asked myself the question if there are similarities between the Sikhs and the Pythagoreans in ancient Greece. Pythagoras also wore a turban.

    Something I found out:

    *Monotheistic belief

In the Greece of Pythagoras, many gods were worshipped. In fact, there was a god for each important aspect of human endeavor. Pythagoras believed that transcending these popular gods was the absolute deity. This absolute deity was indescribable, without beginning or end, and without form.

    *Not to cut the hair

He and his followers never cut their hair or beards [...].

*Pythagoras advised his followers not to drink wine.

    *Vegetarian diet

Pythagoras and some of his followers lived vegetarian.

  4. Hello!

I'm no Sikh. I want to know why Sikhs are not even allowed to cut their hair. As you know, it is usual for male Europeans to shave your beard and to keep the hair on your head short.

What did Guru Gobind Singh really say in the Guru Granth Sahib about this issue?

    Did he say:

    Never cut your hair.

    or

    Never shave your beard.

    or

Don't shave your beard because it can cause bad reactions on your skin.
