  1. Nice. You are well on your way.

I would make one addition -

Make sure that you are doing simran during the moments you are falling asleep at night. Do simran during that transition from waking to sleeping. And then later during sleeping to waking stage.

These are crucial moments when our conscious mind is connected to the subconscious, meaning during the transitions of waking-sleeping and sleeping-waking, our mind goes deep into itself automatically. So if you have simran going on at this time, you can imagine the benefits of that. You are going deeper and implanting simran in the deep areas of your mind.

    On Santpad-

Bhai Sahib is correct, in order to get to Santpad, one must build up Naam di kamai and do lots of Bhakti.

However, the problem will aiming for any kind of goals about spiritual states like Santpad or smaller goals like feeling "anand and chardi kala", is that it might create attachment and slow your progress. Your attachment to any spiritual goal can actually become an obstacle.

It's good to have goals but be attached to naam and not the goal.

    Thank you BhagatSingh Ji,

I noted your point, very good advise. Thank you so much. Bhagti Marg is very difficult, sometimes I feel very low, depressed (feel like crying out loud) because you dont see any signs of progress.

  2. Thank you Sukrit and Harsharan,
You are right, Love is the key. You need to be in complete Bairaag. I understand that but at the same time I am worried since this is your only chance to be one with Him. And you can only go close to Him if you can fight panj doots and it seems impossible to me.
I listened to Bhai Sewa Singh Tarmala and he says that we need to be on "Santpad" to start Bhakti and to reach santpad we need to do naam kamai. Have anyone of you reached Santpad or beyond? Could you share your experience and how did you live your life, how much simran you did to reach that? Now, I understand that everyone is different, but I just want to hear from someone.
    Please share.

  3. Waheguru ji,

I have been reading the posts here and really felt that I should share my story as well

I have been doing naam japp for quite a while and also doing swaas giras and swass swass simran most of the time during the day and amrit vela . I go to Gurudwara every weekend and listen gurbani and try to keep myself engaged in swaas swaas simran most of the time. but I am not feeling blissed or "ChardiKalaa" except on few occasions.

I also started doing naam abhyaas 1 hour in the evening also and sometimes I feel that I should lock myself in the room and do naam simran all day. But I could not sit more than 2 hours straight. I know I need to have patience but how do I know if I am making any progress in this journey. What else should i be doing.

I look forward to hear some of your views.

  4. Very interesting analogy he explains about sass-giras simran leads to the wind pipe opening all the way down to eventually hit the navel region.

Bit surprised about the claim that you can get yourself into a self hypnotized state if one falls asleep whilst doing focused simran. I would have called that Sunn Samadhi.

Could definately relate to the guidance that one should learn to focus on the their own voice even when doing simran in the sangat. For quite some time I struggled to do this as I could not even hear my own voice as my mind kept focusing on the louder sangat jaap. But once this ability kicked in then no mater how loud sangat got I was able to tune into my own voice.

    Waheguru ji,

How do I know how long should I keep continuing sass-girass and ready for the next phase? Please advise?

    Many thanks
