Bro, please read the verses below.

    ANG 1102

O Nanak, break away from the false, and seek out the Saints, your true friends.

    ਓਇ ਜੀਵੰਦੇ ਵਿਛੁੜਹਿ ਓਇ ਮੁਇਆ ਨ ਜਾਹੀ ਛੋੜਿ ॥੧॥

The false shall leave you, even while you are still alive; but the Saints shall not forsake you, even when you are dead. ||1||

    Bhul chuk maaf

Thank you paapiman Ji.  May God shower his blessings upon you.

The verses above have truly brought tears to my eyes.  It has made me cry.  I find, each and every time when I recite the Gubani from the SGGS I cry because what my Pitta Ji says to me touches my soul so much that expressing how I feel is beyond words.  Suddenly words fail and tears take over.

I am going to post something now which actually led me to ask my question.  Please read it and tell me what you think.  It goes like this:

"Somewhere there was once a Flower, a Stone, a Crystal, a Queen, a King, a Palace, a Lover and his Beloved, and this was long ago, on an Island somewhere in the ocean five thousand years ago... Such is Love, the Mystic Flower of the Soul.  This is the Center, the Self."  (C.G. Jung)

Thank you once again for your help.

Bro, spiritual masters definitely help a person in his spiritual journey.

If you find none, then hold on tight to the feet of the Master of all masters and the King of all kings--

Dhan Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib jee Maharaaj

    Bhul chuk maaf

Thank you so much for your. response.  I agree.

  3. That's fine, but don't you still think we need some sort of Master//Teacher to  show us how to put  theory  into practice?  For instance, do you think it is possible to become a chemist, a mathematician, a journalist or even a dancer by just reading books? Similarly, can one become a doctor, a lawyer, a teacher, just by reading books?  Do we need someone to elaborate on what the theory states? Do we not need someone to explain to us what the written word is trying to convey and show us how to apply it?

Spiritual path is a very difficult and lonely path and we certainly need someone to guide us and be with us when we are lost, lonely and totally desolate.

We can all thank  the Hindustan government responsible for deliberately introducing these evil elements in Punjab.  Caste will never dye.  Thanks to Hindus for their contributions in keeping this alive well into fhe 21st century.

You have to realize one thing and that is, when we start blaming others for our troubles then we just ignore our our own role in causing them in the first place.  That is all I have to say.

Alcohol is outright no! Even those who consume it know this, but do it anyway. I don't think they disagree with it, they just choose not to take amrit so they won't be subject to rehet maryada.

Interfaith marriages is also clear in every rehet maryada that anand karaj is between two Sikhs. Who a Sikh is, is even defined. And it doesn't have to be an Amritdhari. They just have to believe in the process of baptism instilled by tenth Guru. Other than that they must believe in 10 human Gurus, Guru Granth Sahib, and believe in the ONE immortal being, and the big one that will disqualify interfaith marriages is to owe no allegiance to any other religion. So a Sikh who has not taken Amrit is still Sikh and can be married by Anand Karaj. However I can't see how a Hindu or Christian etc could, and still satifsy the rehet unless they agree to give up their religion.  Again, I don't think people disagree that this is in rehet maryada, what they disagree on is that many think its being too exclusive and discriminating as Sikhi welcomes everyone. BUt my thought is, why even do anand karaj if you dont believe the meanings of the lavaans? Just for culture? To appease parents? Why not come up with a Gurdwara based ceremony for interfaith that doesn't use the lavaans? It would be a civil marriage with a religious tone. Like do kirtan, take hukamnama etc. Have the Granthi give blessings, and the couple can still mathatek. But just don't use the lavaans.  That would resolve the issue on both sides I think! Those who oppose interfaith would stop protesting at weddings (like in UK) and those who want Gurdwara marriages will still have them, it just wouldn't be anand karaj.

Don't even get them started again on the meat issue!

But the question is, "what will it take......?"
