Two friends were discussing the possibility of love. "I thought I

was in love three times," one friend says. "How so?" his friend asks

"Five years ago I deeply cared for a woman who wanted nothing to do

    with me."

"Was that not love?" his friend asks

"No," he replies. "That was obsession. And then two years ago I

deeply cared for an attractive woman who didn't understand me."

    "Was that not love?"

"No," he replies. "That was lust. And just last year I met a woman

aboard a cruise ship to the Caribbean. She was smart, funny, and a

great conversationalist. And everywhere I followed her on that boat, I

would get this strange sensation in the pit of my stomach."

"Was that not love?" his friend asks

"No," he replies. "That was motion sickness."

I think there are a lot of people who think they are (or were) in

love who don't have a clue as to what love really is. And the result is

that many marriages are suffering. You hear married couples say, "We're

just not in love anymore." And I know right away what kind of "love"

they had when they got married

The Greeks had several different words for "love." Three are

especially important in marriages. First, there was "eros", the word

used to describe sexual attraction. It's important in marriages, but if

that's the only kind of love a couple has, their love will only last

until they find others more attractive (and that day will come). What

some mean when they say , "I don't love you anymore" is "I'm not

    attracted to you anymore."

Second, there was "philia," a friendship love. This is the kind of

love that says, "I enjoy being around you and talking to you and doing

things with you." It is very important in a marriage, but again, if it

is the only kind of love there is, the love will last only until you

find someone else you enjoy talking to and doing things with. What most

mean when they say, "I don't love you anymore" is "I don't enjoy being

    around you anymore."

The Religious Scriptures, however, uses the word "agape" as the foundational love

It is a love of commitment, a love that says, "I'll be here for you

regardless of what happens." It is the love that truly stays in there

"for better or for worse." It is the kind of love that will love even

    when others are unlovable

Make sure that your marriages (and other personal relationships)

are grounded in "agape" -- true love!

  4. then another question arises.......what if u have invested 5-6 yrs in a relationship and kids are now part of the factor............and now ur spouse says we're getting divorced.......don't u feel cheated?

Now I know most ppl are gonna say........"that never happens".....*ahem ahem*.......yeah right.......... I have seen with my own eyes where a couple have tried the arranged way and been together for at least 5+ years but then somehow end up getting divorced...........

In my opinion, if it's a love marriage then go 4 it, try it out and u'll know it works out if it's true love.....not the let's get married cuz i liked u in the beginning and not anymore kinda deal.........

cuz if it's true love then it's like the saying.......don't marry the person you can live with, marry the person you can't live without

ultimately it all comes down to do whatever works for you as long sa it makes you :D

    Gurfateh..........

A Real Singh who understands the meaning of Anand Karaj would never ever divorce unless the woman is cheating or something..He wud never divorce for some stupid reason like normally people do ..out of lack of tolerance..or some other woman...divorce is a western concept....there nothing like that in Sikhi....

  5. whats wrong with love stories

we should not denie ourselves of these great emotions

yes i know the greatest love is that 4 your guru but marry sum1 u love is better than arranged marriage

being in love is something special dont waste this life you have by denieing yourself from it

there is nothing wrong with loving a fellow human being its fantastic

im not on about lustful lov even thugh it may play a smaLL part

love is in the air everywhere i look around

What if it doesnt work out?????Plus Its all about beliefs.....I feel in investing my sacred emotions on somebody who is gonna be there for life not like aaj aah teh kal oh....So for me its love after marriage

love is a panga as far as I have seen my frens....its more of peer pressure and this idiotic media and raging hormones...nothing else

  6. The answer is BABIES!!!

Seriously I think that is the reason. You see men can make babies whenever, but when it comes to women, they're on a short time table.

I mean isn't it something like after the age 35 the chances of a miscarriage increase greatly....

So yeah, men need to use the baby factories while they are still open for business...cause you ain't gonna get no babies after quitin' time!

That is my theory on this topic.. :D

I know , one rishta was not accepted cos the girl was 2 years elder....But she wasn't buddi...???

IN this case the girl was abt 26 and guy was 24.......She was way younger than 35 hunna....stupid reason...i feel

  7. I have seen in Punjab ke hunna that while marrying the girl should be younger in age than the boy WHY?? I know , one rishta was not accepted cos the girl was 2 years elder....But she wasn't buddi...???

Whats the reason why younger women are still preferred??I mean younger than the guy.....??

I heard my Naniji ...she said ke hunna people used to women 20 yrs in olden times   OMG thats sooo bad....

I guess this practise is prevalent amongst some Muslim countries like sucha huge age difference...BUT WHY YOUNGER WOMAN??

  8. We cant protect punjab untill we get the india goverment influence out. The national laugage in punjab is hindi ((admin-cut)) as stated by the indian goverment, they dont even teach young kids about sikhi. From my point of view sikhs dont belong in india and we cant call ourselves indians when we dont have the same right of freedom like other indians and indias ment to be the worlds largest Democratic country, there having a laugh.

about the munday in your pind Kick there ass luv !

Ps GooglyKaur whos the little bold Kid looks japanees to me :D

I agree...but I feel local bodies(gurdwaras) cud do something....like frm what I have heard frm my mamaji he lives in Ca..He said was like people use really advanced audio visual aids for educating the youth...here its not like that....I mean the only knowledge a kid gets is Bebe/Dadis nanis sakhis which they tell at nini time....but hunna now the prob is cos of nuclear family concepts...Dadis dont stay with their sons....so poor kids feed on Cartoon Network 24/7 or other nonsense...and theres no check on what filth these kids watch...Punjab ch jada haal mada hai since theres no check....I have younger brother and wen tells us abt what other guys his age do ....my mom is like ke ....we wont let him go out n stuff...but that cannot really happen hunna...Teenagers are blindly copying West..... I wish there cud be some ideas ,some organisation which cud help n educate kids in Punjab....and other areas of India where sikhs live....

That baby is from my collection of baby pics....I dont know who he/she is ...some cute nonu kaka....
